The retailer is selling a contemporary home by the brand Well Done 1 Home Kits for $25,895.

Measuring 12 x 8 x 16 feet, the kit comes with a structurally fabricated, light-weight steel-stud frame and primed for paint.

The tiny home also includes insulation, walls and ceiling panels, trim, and baseboards.

Shipping is free and should arrive within weeks.

Plus, the product qualifies for free holiday returns until January 31, 2025.

DAINTY DWELLING

The tiny home kit also comes with a roof deck and precise plans and instructions for what the company describes as “easy to assemble.”

Each is shipped as a kit with a cold-formed steel frame and building components in one shipment.

Other features include: deck railings and posts, sliding glass door, and energy efficient sliding windows with screens.

Just note that customers will need to make the cuts on some boards, panels and trims.

The DIY kit will also require a four-inch concrete slab or solid wood foundation.

These may be anchored onto the slab with provided anchor bolts.

While the units are below the size threshold for most city planning permit requirements and may not need permits, you may need to check.

This means contacting your building code authorities and city planning department for your local building code specifications.

TINY HOME TREND

As tiny homes become more of an option, retailers are getting in the game.

What is a tiny home?

Technically, a tiny home is any house measuring under 400 square feet.

Many tiny homes are built on trailers so they can be towed anywhere, and some are converted from old school buses or vans.

Each state has its own rules about tiny homes, but, generally, they are not subject to the same taxes as regular homes.

However, Alaska, Iowa, Louisiana, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, and West Virginia have made tiny homes illegal as permanent dwellings.

Home Depot, Amazon, and others are all offering affordable options.

Amazon is selling a customizable, three-bedroom tiny home for $11,698.

The 20-foot by 40-foot home is fully furnished with a kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms.

According to the Amazon website, delivery is free and should arrive within four days of ordering.

Home Depot also sells a tiny home kit called the Getaway Small Space Complete DIY Kit for $29,997.

The kit comes with a steel frame kit, which protects from severe weather better than a wood construction.

It’s an American steel frame, resistant to termites, rot, mold, rodents, and fire.
