“This is how Shanks got his scar”: One Piece Fan Theory Links Shanks, Blackbeard and Loki and It’s Scary How It Makes a Lot of Sense

The latest One Piece manga chapter 1130 has introduced the much-awaited character of Loki to the fans, and he is nothing like what they expected. Loki has been revealed to be a notorious Giant whose menacing nature earned him the title of The Accursed Prince. If he is the main antagonist of Elbaph, he has the potential to be better than other villains like Kaido and Doflamingo.

He is so strong that almost every Giant from Elbaph is needed to keep him imprisoned, and if he ever frees himself, the One Piece world will be ruined. However, the most criminal thing Loki did was kill his father, King Harald, in order to obtain a legendary Devil Fruit. This was the incident that got him imprisoned.

While not much is known about this incident, a One Piece theory has been going around the internet that reveals that Loki is somehow connected to Blackbeard and Shanks, and it makes a lot of sense. It also explains how Shanks got his scar and Blackbeard learned to steal other Devil Fruits.

Loki’s Most Heinous Crime in One Piece

The Prince of Elbaph, Loki, is the younger brother of Harjudin and the biggest menace of the Elbaph village. According to the Giants, he is evil, dangerous, and frightening, as he has committed numerous crimes that have wreaked havoc on Elbaph. However, his biggest crime in One Piece was to kill his father to take hold of a legendary, mysterious Devil Fruit.

King Harald was considered to be more powerful than any other Giant. He commanded an entire military of giants, which is said to be the strongest in the entire world. He also possessed a legendary Devil Fruit that is said to have been passed down the royal line of Elbaph. It is assumed that it was supposed to be given to Harjudin, the elder son of Harald, but Loki didn’t like it.

Thus, he decided to kill his own father and eat the Devil Fruit. This Devil Fruit allegedly made Loki the strongest Giant in the world, and it took the power of almost every Giant to imprison him. When Loki’s character makes an official appearance in the manga, he claims that he will be the one who brings the One Piece world to an end.

Loki is Linked To Blackbeard and Shanks

The most intriguing aspect of Loki killing his father is the fact that he got hold of the legendary Devil Fruit as soon as he killed Harald. This proves that Loki knows how to attain a Devil Fruit after killing someone. The only other person who can do this is Blackbeard, when he took Whitebeard’s Devil Fruit from his dead body during the Marineford arc in One Piece.

Thus, a theory has been developed by @slattwave1017 on X that states that Blackbeard, Shanks, and Loki are connected somehow. The theory states that Loki is probably the one who taught the trick of stealing Devil Fruits from others to Blackbeard, and Blackbeard, in turn, helped Loki kill his father.

The two then fought against Shanks, who is the protector of Elbaph, and while Blackbeard betrayed Loki and escaped, he got caught by Shanks and the Giants and was imprisoned.

This might also be the same incident where Shanks got the scar on his face from Blackbeard. The theory perfectly links and explains the three biggest mysteries of One Piece involving Loki, Shanks, and Blackbeard.

One Piece manga is available to read on Viz Media.
