One of the game’s most powerful weapons is the shotgun. This particular weapon isn’t simple to obtain, as you’ll need to go through several steps to reach its location.
This process involves solving multiple puzzles that will grant you access to specific areas. This is a guide on how to get the shotgun in Silent Hill 2. This weapon is located in Brookhaven Hospital.
Follow These Initial Steps to Locate the Shotgun in Silent Hill 2
In the reception area of Brookhaven Hospital, you’ll find a small lock enclosing the basement key, which you’ll need to get the shotgun in Silent Hill 2. To get the code for the lock, follow our lock code guide.
Once you unlock it, you can take the basement key. Once you descend the stairs and enter the basement, a map of the area will automatically appear to guide you. The next step to getting the shotgun is to find the empty gas can inside the boiler room.
To do this, you’ll need to circle around and enter through the door on the far left. Be very careful, as there’s little light and several enemies roaming the area. Next, head to the laundry room, where you’ll find a laundry cart that you’ll need to use to access the storage room.
You must push the laundry cart against the wall in front of you, which will have a window above it. Again, be cautious of nearby enemies. Once you enter the storage room, you’ll find a hose on the far right of the room.
You’ll need to play a mini-game to fill the can with gas. Now you can open the door to the storage room and access it whenever needed. With this, you can head to the generator room and fill it with gas to power it up, restoring electricity to the entire hospital.
How to Get the Shotgun in Silent Hill 2
Once you’ve restored the power in Brookhaven Hospital in Silent Hill 2, you’ll need to use the elevator to ascend to the second floor, where you can continue your search for the shotgun.
When you reach the second floor, which will be filled with enemies to defeat, you’ll need to go to the nurses’ lounge to find the key to room L1. This particular room will be one of the last places to explore before finally finding the shotgun on this same floor.
To wrap up and finally get the shotgun, you’ll now need to head to the women’s locker room on the same floor, where you’ll find a teddy bear with a needle stuck behind it. Despite having little to do with finding the weapon, this will help solve a crucial story puzzle later on.
Once you’ve secured the needle behind the teddy bear, proceed to the right, where you’ll discover an open locker containing the shotgun. The same location also houses the ammunition for this crucial weapon in Silent Hill 2.
