The intriguing world of One Piece is full of mysteries, where fans do not realize what the islands or the ocean’s surface hold for them. As a result, the series has stood on top of the popularity charts for the last 25 years, refusing to share the title with other anime series of the same genre.
Although the story primarily revolves around Monkey D. Luffy and his notorious Straw Hat Pirate crew, who would take on anyone who would oppress the weak. However, Oda-Sensei does not just focus on its main characters, as he would ensure each of his characters was brought to perfection.
For the most part, the adventure series has been pretty epic and gives a direct idea of what might happen in the show. While most fans can’t foresee the plot twists in the series, they are certain that the battle between Kid and Shanks portrays both wrongly, as it just does not make sense at all.
Kid vs. Shanks Paints a Wrong Opinion Among the Fans
There’s no denying that Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece would invite its viewers on a grand narrative that would leave a lasting impact on them with its intricacies following the layered storyline and rich character development.
One such example would be episode 1112, which left a huge impact on the fans. It featured the Captain of the Red-Haired Pirates in action after a long time. However, what made it so memorable is how the Yonko one hits the entire crew of Kid with just 1 named attack, called Kamusari or Divine Departure.
Despite the series having a near-perfect rating of 9.7/10 on IMDb, it has set the wrong picture among the community. Many believe that Kid was taken by surprise by the Emperor of the Sea. To give a clearer idea about the member of the Worst Generation pirate, he was previously involved in a battle with Big Mom and Kaido, two Yonkos of the Sea.
For the most part, the Kid held his ground, where he made the life of Charlotte Linlin a living nightmare with the power of his Jiki Jiki no Mi. Additionally, to give a clearer idea of the rookie’s power, he directly ate the strongest attack of Big Mom in the Wano Country Arc and was still standing.
Hence, some fans are left confused about the much-anticipated rematch between the two. Interestingly, when asked on Reddit, a fan comes up with the most appropriate explanation that would just make enough sense to the rest of the community.
They explained that the reason behind the lackluster rematch was Shanks “caught him off guard with the speed of his attack.” They further explained that the fight with Big Mom was much different because their fight was at a slow pace, which made him defensively alert. They commented,

Nevertheless, this opinion summoned the entire community to the Reddit post as the explanation divided the fandom, where everyone had mixed opinions following the epic battle.
One Piece Fans Feel Divided Over Kid’s Poor Fate
Episode 1112 was a massive hit. The episode was all over the internet, with clips showcasing how Shanks was on the move as he took out members of the Worst Generation Pirates. One key reason following their fight was how Shanks’ Observation Haki might have been on a whole other level, which allowed him to make a quick decision.
The fans felt divided on the post because some fans agreed with what the fellow community member stated, whereas some felt that Kid became a victim of the plot armor surrounding the Yonko. They commented,
