NFL fans claim Jets-Bills was ‘rigged’ after mysterious ‘missed’ extra point is given – but did TV camera trick viewers?

NFL fans were divided after an extra point in Monday night’s game was called good.

The New York Jets kicker also missed two field goals in Monday’s loss[/caption]

He steadied himself for the extra point attempt before the ball was snapped.

As it traveled towards the uprights, the ball seemed to take a turn to the left.

It ended up going over the top of the left hand post rather than through the uprights.

The kick kept on spinning left after it passed the uprights and looked a long way wide by the time it hit the netting.

Officials signaled that the extra point attempt was good and the ball went through.

But some NFL fans on social media were adamant the ball went wide.

“My girlfriend who knows next to nothing about football even saw that didn’t go in yet highly paid refs can’t even see,” one said.

Another said, “I watched it in the theatre room and I thought it was a miss as well.”

While a third posted, “So much happened in this game, I had already forgot about the mysterious kick.”

The extra point didn’t have an impact on the result as the Buffalo Bills ran out 23-20 winners.

Zuerlein missed two key field goal attempts during the game at MetLife Stadium.

The Jets slipped to 2-4 with the defeat against their AFC East rival Bills.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers faces a fine for his post-game remarks.

Rodgers threw for 294 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ first game since firing head coach Robert Saleh.

The 40-year-old slammed the officiating, which is a breach of NFL protocol.

“It seemed a little ridiculous,” the 40-year-old quarterback said.

“Some of them seemed really bad, including the roughing the passer on me.

“That’s not roughing the passer.

“We might as well play Sarcastaball if we’re going to call those things,” he said in reference to a South Park episode.

“I thought the one on Kinlaw was not roughing the passer, either.”
