Quick View
If you’re looking to upgrade your Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring, you’ll want to learn how to get Grave Gloveworts. These upgrade materials allow you to boost your standard Spirit Ashes, making them strong and more effective in battles.
As you progress through the game, you’ll find that the base-level Spirit Ashes don’t stand a chance against many of the tougher enemies you come across.
This guide will cover some of the easiest and most accessible Elden Ring item locations for each Grave Glovewort.
What is Grave Glovewort? How to Get Grave Glovewort 1, 2, and 3
These essential items are upgrade materials used to enhance certain types of Spirit Ashes. Before you can do that, you need to unlock the ability to upgrade Spirit Ashes by completing Roderika’s quest and having her set up shop in Roundtable Hold.
Once that’s done, you can approach her any time you want to level your Spirit Ashes.
Lucky for players, the first few levels of Grave Glovewort are easily attainable in early-game locations. These are some of the Grave Glovewort locations for types 1, 2, and 3.
Type | Amount | Location | Region |
Grave Glovewort (1) | 5 | Stormfoot Catacombs | Limgrave |
5 | Deathtouched Catacombs | Limgrave
2 | Tombsward Catacombs | Weeping Peninsula
3 | Impaler’s Catacombs | Weeping Peninsula
Grave Glovewort (2) | 4 | Black Knife Catacombs | Liurnia of the Lakes |
3 | Tombsward Catacombs | Weeping Peninsula

4 | Black Knife Catacombs | Liurnia of the Lakes
3 | Minor Erdtree Catacombs | Caelid
3 | Caelid Catacombs | Caelid |
These areas get progressively harder, so keep an eye out for your gear and ensure you’ve been correctly leveling your stats. If you’re finding it difficult to progress, consider respec-ing your character, which you can unlock early on in the game.
How to Get Grave Glovewort 4, 5, and 6
The next batch of Grave Gloveworts are spread across mid- to late-game regions like Caelid, Mt. Gelmir, and Altus Plateau.
For this reason, you’ll want to be sufficiently leveled before attempting to get these.
Type | Amount | Location | Region |
Grave Glovewort (4) | 3 | Caelid Catacombs | Caelid |
2 | Minor Erdtree Catacombs | Caelid
2 | Black Knife Catacombs | Liurnia of the Lakes
Grave Glovewort (5) | 3 | Sainted Hero’s Grave | Altus Plateau |
2 | Minor Erdtree Catacombs | Caelid

Grave Glovewort (6) | 5 | War-Dead Catacombs | Caelid |
4 | Auriza Hero’s Grave | Altus Plateau
2 | Gelmir Hero’s Grave | Mt. Gelmir |
Many of them share a location, so you should be able to go ahead and grab multiple types in the same area.
How to Get Grave Glovewort 7, 8, and 9
If you haven’t sufficiently leveled your Elden Ring character by now, you’re not going to have a great time in these areas.
Grave Glovewort 7, 8, and 9 are found in late-game areas, guarded by some of the game’s toughest enemies.
Type | Amount | Location | Region |
Grave Glovewort (7) | 7 | Gelmir Hero’s Grave | Mt. Gelmir |
3 | Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs | Mountaintops of the Giants
2 | Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave | Mountaintops of the Giants
Grave Glovewort (8) | 4 | Leyndell Catacombs | Subterranean Shunning-Grounds (Leyndell) |

1 | Hidden Path to the Haligtree | Forbidden Lands |
Like the previous few batches of Gloveworts, some of these also share a location. Going to just one area should net you enough Glovewort to level a few of your Spirit Ashes by multiple levels.
How to Get Great Grave Glovewort
Great Grave Glovewort are the hardest types to find and are limited in number per NG cycle. They’re found in late-game areas like the previous batch but in the most difficult areas of the game.
Amount | Location | Region |
2 | Consecrated Snowfield Catacombs | Consecrated Snowfield |
2 | (a) Near the Crumbling Beast Grave Depths Site of Grace (b) Near a hidden tomb reachable from the Dragon Temple Site of Grace |
Crumbling Farum Azula |
1 | Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave | Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave |
1 | In the pool of Rot where an Ulcerated Tree Spirit ambushes you. | Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree |
Be careful about which Spirit Ashes you choose to use your Great Grave Glovewort on, as you can’t take your decision back.
You can always leave your Spirit Ashes at +9 and wait until you find some that you really like to level them to +10 with this upgrade material.
