Bachelorette star Justin Glaze is ‘alarmed’ that contestants with criminal pasts ‘slip through the cracks’ on show

BACHELORETTE alum Justin Glaze is calling for changes within the franchise after being left “alarmed” by the number of men with criminal pasts who were able to sign up for the show.

The ABC star said he found it “shocking” that the domestic violence accusations made against them managed to “slip through the cracks.”

Golden Bachelorette star Guy Gansert’s ex claims he threatened to shoot her in request for a restraining order[/caption]

Golden Bachelorette stars Guy Gansert and Gil Ramirez, along with Bachelorette winner Devin Strader, have all been accused of startling behavior by exes seeking restraining orders against them.

Speaking exclusively to The U.S. Sun, Justin said: “I mean, it’s a pretty thorough and extensive process, the entire casting process, background checks as well.

“So I have honestly been kind of shocked with some of the stuff that’s seemingly slipped through the cracks.

“It is kind of alarming that this is literally certain people’s jobs to look for these things, and they’re being overlooked or missed.

“They should probably do a little revamp in what that looks like.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to ABC for comment, but did not hear back.

‘FLIP TO ANGER’

Golden Bachelorette star Guy was accused of threatening to shoot an ex in a request for a past restraining order.

In the filing exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, the woman described him as “extremely unstable.”

“After disparaging me for some time and my now-boyfriend, he pointed his finger like a gun then ‘shot’ at me,” the ex claimed in the documents.

“He motioned like he was going to shoot me with his hand shaped like a pistol.”

Recalling past incidents, she claimed that Guy would send her “stacks of text messages” before the October 2021 incident in which he threatened her.

She claimed the messages, sent months earlier, were about “trying to reconcile” – but she said he would then “flip to anger.”

“If needed, I can provide text messages and a video of adverse party trespassing on my property when he was aware I was not home,” she wrote.

The ex chose not to report the incident to the police and instead requested up to 45 days of protection.

The former couple reached a “no-contact agreement,” after she chose to voluntarily dismiss the application.

Golden Bachelorette’s Gil will reportedly be edited out from upcoming episodes of the show after it was revealed he was previously served a restraining order by an ex.

The former partner claimed he “harassed” and “stalked” her.

Gil is the Athletics Director of Capistrano Valley High School in Orange County, and his job is now on the line.

According to the TRO, Gil was told not to contact his ex but “made repeated unwanted contact” with the woman, along with her family members and friends.

The ex claimed she was bombarded with phone calls, texts, and emails and he would even show up in person to places he knew she often frequented.

A judge granted the woman a temporary restraining order – which prohibited Gil from contacting her or coming within 100 yards of her, her home, her workplace, her vehicle, and her children’s school.

The order was reissued in early July 2024, but the case was dismissed the same month due to lack of prosecution, according to records.

Both Guy and Gil did not return requests for comment by The U.S. Sun.

It has also been revealed that Bachelorette winner Devin was arrested and had a restraining order from an ex-girlfriend seven years before the show’s most recent season.

According to reports, the situation was dealt with by Baton Rouge Police Department in Louisiana.

The woman alleged he broke into her house and a diamond necklace he gifted her was later missing.

She filed a restraining order against him days later and alleged he spat on her and put her in a “chokehold”.

The ex also told police that he had “come to her house banging on the door several times and screaming at her.”

Who Are the Past Bachelorettes?

The Bachelorette is a reality TV show that debuted on ABC in 2003. The most recent bachelorette was Charity Lawson. The previous stars of The Bachelorette include:

Devin responded to the reports on Instagram, insisting the accusations were false, and the pair later reconciled before breaking up and ending on good terms.

“The accusations are simply not true as I have never inappropriately laid hands on another individual or treated my ex-girlfriend in any of the ways I have been depicted,” he said.

“That restraining order was never granted, and fully dismissed.”

Bachelorette star Justin spoke out about the problems within the franchise at the launch of The Unofficial Vandrpump Rules Ultimate Trivia Book by author Thea de Sousa on Wednesday night at Sur restaurant in West Hollywood.

He declined to comment on his relationship status but his ex, Bachelor star Susie Evans, was also at the same event, although they were not seen interacting.

Justin said he’d like to see other changes on the shows, as a lot of it has become “copy and paste” after so many years.

“The show’s been around for 20 plus years, right? So I think there’s a lot of copy and paste when it comes to some of the silly group dates and kind of the format of the show.

“So I’d like to see some nuance. It gets a little bit predictable, especially being on the show, right?

“We can kind of predict some of the drama and the dates and all that. So I’d like to see a revamp.

“The show’s gonna have its identity but some of the little things.”
