Wigan winger Liam Marshall is set to be called up to England’s squad for the Test series with Samoa, as is Junior Nsemba

Now it is understood they will both be named in national boss Shaun Wane’s final squad for the Test series against Samoa, which is revealed today.

Back rower Nsemba was overlooked for the mid-season international in France because of a lack of experience.

But the 20-year-old has played his way into the two matches with a string of dominant domestic performances.

And winger Marshall is understood to have got his reward for a season that saw him score an astonishing 35 tries in 33 matches.

It may also see him finally earn an England cap after playing against Fiji in 2022 – a match for which they were not awarded.

Marshall, 28, is set to join NRL star Dom Young as a wing option for Wane as he chases revenge for the World Cup semi-final loss two years ago.

Victor Radley, Morgan Smithies and Kai Pearce-Paul – who also play Down Under – are likely to be in, as is John Bateman, who returns to Wests Tigers after a stint at Warrington.

Ngannou has made millions from his boxing bouts

He walked out on the UFC as their heavyweight champion to pursue a his lifelong ambition of boxing.

At the time, he had beaten Ciryl Gane in January 2022 but had no plans to re-sign with the UFC.

He made only £450,000 for the bout and revealed he borrowed £150,000 from friend and former UFC champ Kamaru Usman.

But after two boxing bouts – against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua – he is believed to have earned over £10MILLION.

And Ngannou told SunSport: “Yes, there was a day that I have to borrow money from Kamaru Usman, I might not have to borrow the same amount today.

“But I can still borrow because my project gets bigger and bigger. So things are changing as a person I’m growing.

“Life is moving, I have different perspective in life. My ambition grows, you know. I set no limit for myself. The sky is my limit.”

Ngannou revealed he leant the money from Usman to focus on his fledging property empire.

He said: “Personal things, investment, having a house, building a house. I love houses, I love real estate.

“I come from a family that we never owned any house. We never had a house.

“Then my first thing was to build houses in different city and then maybe buy one wherever I’m living make some investment.

“Think of my future. Think of a potential retirement plan or in case things don’t work out.

“I’m doing a job that I have no guarantee, no insurance. I have no guarantee of the future of tomorrow, everything can stop right now.

“So yes, you think about that. When you think about that, you need to plan things out at least, like for 1,2,3 years or more in case s*** happens.

“So you have something you have some time to reset and start back. I think that’s what every single combat sports athlete should do.”

Ngannou left Cameroon when he was 26 for a better life, having began working in the sand mines from the age of just TEN.

It took him 14 months to go from his hometown of Batie to eventually France, where his journey as a fighter began.

Now, he is a former world champion with two huge paydays in the bank – but there was once a time when securing food to eat was his biggest problem.

He said: “There were days that when I wake up my only worry, my only concern was what I was going to eat that day. There were days like that in my life.

“Basically growing up there were days that going to school, I worry because I didn’t have a pen to take notes or because I didn’t have a note, because my school tuition hasn’t been paid.

“So life evolved, doesn’t mean he was that bad day. I think it was just a process.

“Because at the end of the day, life is mostly a journey that you have to understand, enjoy the journey is not a destination.

“Because, if you set a destination and then you get to destination, then what’s happened? It’s the trusting the process.”

Ngannou, 38, sensationally dropped Fury, 36, on his boxing debut only to lose a controversial decision.

He then remained in boxing but was knocked out by Joshua, 34, in two rounds in March.

Now, he returns to the cage for the first time in over two years to face 6ft 8in Brazilian Renan Ferreira, 34, in his Professional Fighters League debut.

And he welcomes the familiar feeling of strapping on the tiny 4oz MMA gloves and stepping foot back in the cage.

He said: “I would say the transition was going from MMA to boxing not to from boxing to MMA, because that’s not the transition.

“I’ve been doing MMA my entire career. I mean, both are definitely two different trainings which MMA has their own complexity.

“But, I’m more used to the complexity of MMA.”

Girlfriend of Brit influencer who died in 160ft plunge from Spain’s highest bridge says his death is a ‘nightmare’

THE heartbroken girlfriend of a British influencer who died after climbing up one of Spain’s highest bridges has described his death as a “nightmare”.

Lewis Stevenson, 26, plunged over 160ft after scaling up the Castilla La Mancha bridge so he could reportedly get a picture for his social media with tributes pouring in for the daredevil climber.

His heartbroken girlfriend Savannah Parker described her boyfriend’s death as “a nightmare” after the tragedy on Sunday.

She wrote on her Instagram: “It’s 5am and I haven’t eaten or slept. Someone tell me this is a nightmare.

“I feel violently sick at the fact you’re not coming back. Please come back. Answer the phone.”

Another friend and fellow climber left a touching tribute saying: “Knowing you has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

“And losing you is the greatest sadness of my life.

“No amount of words on a stupid Instagram post will ever describe how much I miss you.

“You will always be the bravest, most caring and funny person I’ve ever known. I’m proud of every building, every rooftop, every moment of our time together.

“My best friend, my brother. Rest easy, we’ll meet again one day.”

Authorities in Spain said Stevenson was climbing up the 630ft bridge with a 24-year-old friend at around 7.15am on Sunday morning.

Cops said the pal was left traumatised and in a state of shock for some time after the fatal plunge.

The bridge stands over the Tagus River, 90 minutes southwest of Madrid.

Footage from the scene of the tragedy showed police cordoning off the area near to where he fell.

National Police as well as local town-hall employed firefighters rushed to the scene with paramedics but there was nothing they could to save the Brit.

Stevenson was known for his ambitious climbs with snaps on his social media showing him standing hundreds of feet in the air on top of famous landmarks.

He has scaled to the top of a New York skyscraper, overlooked London on top of a metal beam and even looked over a forest in Croatia.

Stevenson’s grandfather Clifford, 70, revealed that the stunts had always scared the family.

He told MailOnline: “We all tried to talk him out of it. We were always trying to talk him out of doing things but that was the way he was.

“He loved doing it, always went out there believing he’d be alright. He did what he did for his own pleasure.

“He did not get any money for it, he was an adventurer.”

Local councillor Macarena Munoz confirmed the tragedy last weekend and said climbing the bridge was “totally banned”.

She said: “We have made it clear on several occasions that it’s not something that can be done in any circumstances.”

Investigators are now set to look into the possibility bad weather may have played a part into the fall as rained heavily the night before the tragedy.
