I’m A Celebrity set to sign TWO BBC radio DJs – and one has an axe to grind

EX-BBC radio host the Rev Richard Coles is set for I’m A Celebrity — and ready to let rip at his old employer.

The former Communards and Strictly star, 62, said the BBC did not know its a**e from its elbow last year.

Rev Coles will reportedly be joined in the jungle by Radio 1 rising star Dean McCullough[/caption]

Sources also say Radio 1 rising star Dean McCullough, 32, is in advanced talks to enter the ITV series which starts next month.

An insider said: “As always, the jungle bosses have cleverly put together a sensational line-up guaranteed to make for compulsive viewing.

“Rev Coles will have a variety of tales to tell from his wild days as a pop star in the Eighties, through to performing on Strictly and his later life as a man of the cloth.

“Meanwhile, Dean isn’t known for being a shrinking violet and is sure to be outspoken — plus he’s one of the youngest men lined up for the show so far.”

Richard departed as host of Radio 4’s Saturday Live show under a cloud in March 2023 after 12 years.

The Beeb announced the news, buried in an email, only five days before his final show.

Richard said later he “felt rather hurtled towards the exit”.

He added of the BBC: “You devote your energies to it and yet they perhaps don’t always respond with similar devotion.

“It’s a great national institution and more power to its elbow.

“It would just be nice if it could distinguish that elbow from its ae sometimes.”

I’m A Celebrity already has most of its line-up in place.

So far, it includes Wag queen Coleen Rooney, Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse, ex-Love Islander Tommy Fury, Corrie’s Alan Halsall and social media star GK Barry.

A spokesman for I’m a Celebrity said: “We don’t comment on speculation.”

Liam’s autopsy revealed the star suffered severe injuries that led to “internal and external haemorrhaging”.

Today his good friend of many years, Scott, poured his heart out about singer’s untimely death, and said he “can’t bear that this is where Liam’s story has ended”.

The presenter held back tears as he gave a special message to Liam’s dad, saying: “So, Geoff, I don’t know if you’re hearing this, but my heart goes out to you today and to the rest of Liam’s family, and, of course, to his little boy.”

Argentine media have published troubling images showing white powder, burnt aluminium foil and a smashed TV screen.

Several images show what is reported to be the inside of the former One Direction singer’s luxury suite at the upmarket Hotel CasaSur Palermo, according to Argentina’s biggest newspaper Clarin.

Buenos Aires police confirmed the room was in a state of “total disorder”.

They released a statement saying: “Upon entering, total disorder was observed, with various elements broken.

“The balcony area was inspected in order to establish access to it.”

Clarin, Argentina’s biggest newspaper, published the images alongside a report saying: “Damage and drugs in the hotel room Liam Payne was staying in in Buenos Aires.”

The singer had been open about his battles with addiction in the past.

But cops are yet to confirm what the substances found in the room are and are due to run tests on them shortly.

It comes as:

final 911 call from hotel staff on Wednesday revealed they needed “urgent assistance” from cops to help with a guest “behaving erratically”.

Argentinian police said staff reported an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol”.

Witnesses at the hotel reported Liam had to be carried back to his room, according to TMZ.

Recordings from the 911 calls made by the head of reception show them reporting “a guest who is destroying everything in his room”.

In a second appeal for help the receptionist said: “We need you to send someone urgently because I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger.

Liam was found dead in the hotel’s inner courtyard at around 5pm local time (9pm UK time).

His death was confirmed as soon as ambulance crews arrived.

A red tent was put up over Liam’s body as cops began to investigate the death.

Future of Disney+ bonkbuster Rivals confirmed ahead of sexy series’ launch

BONKBUSTER telly adaptation Rivals already has a sequel in the pipeline – even though series one has only just been released on Disney+.

The eight-part reworking of Jilly Cooper’s novel dropped today and early screenings are said to have impressed bosses at the streaming giant.

Early screenings of the eight-part reworking of Jilly Cooper’s novel are said to have impressed bosses at Disney+[/caption]

Screenwriter Dominic Treadwell-Collins recently confirmed he deliberately only adapted the first half of the Rivals book.

And a TV insider said: “The feeling is that there is still so much more in the story that could easily be made into a sequel.

“Disney+ appear to be on board, even though they haven’t announced an official commission yet.

“Bosses at the streamer can see there is a huge amount of anticipation for this show, and having seen the episodes, they know it won’t disappoint.

“So going for a follow-up is a no-brainer, though these things take money and time, particularly as they have to try to align the very busy diaries of Rivals’ star-studded cast.”

That line-up includes David Tennant, Aidan Turner, Emily Atack and Danny Dyer.

Set in the Eighties in the fictional county of Rutshire, long-held grudges bubble to the surface as the characters vie for business and each others’ affections in the cut-throat world of telly execs. Expect racy action in the bedroom and boardroom.

The first series, and any sequel, will enjoy a loyal fanbase ready to lap it up because Jilly’s books, which often include the same characters and ongoing storylines, have sold 11million copies.

I hope Disney+ give her a free subscription — it’s the very least they owe her.

HE lent his voice to CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories with great success, so it’s no surprise Tom Hardy has been offered more narration work.

The hunky actor will chronicle the action in new Paramount+ documentary series Special Forces: Most Daring Missions, about SAS missions.

WHO THE DEVIL IS JAMES?

HE’S best known for playing kind-hearted Hugo on The Vicar Of Dibley, but James Fleet couldn’t be more different in Prime Video thriller The Devil’s Hour.

He appears as bearded newcomer Greg Wiseman in the second series, available to stream from today.

The show sees Peter Capaldi as mysterious killer Gideon. His story is intertwined with Jessica Raine’s Lucy, who is woken up at 3:33am every night by visions of a life that isn’t her own.

Series one left viewers scratching their heads trying to keep up the alternate universes, where Gideon has manipulated events by teleporting between different versions of reality.

Series two picks up on the cliffhanger ending that aired in 2022.

EMILY ATACK, Vogue Williams, Dara O’Briain, Susie Dent and Al Murray will join Rhod Gilbert for his new series of Growing Pains, which sees famous faces reveal stories from their youth.

It airs on Comedy Central from October 28, with two festive specials following.

So I’m sure she’ll feel right at home on new ITV crime series Code Of Silence.

My exclusive photos show Rose filming for the six-part thriller – and it looks like her role won’t be a barrel of laughs.

Rose, who won Strictly in 2021, plays Alison, a deaf catering worker struggling to make ends meet as she juggles jobs in a police canteen and a local bar.

But when she is called upon by the police to lip read conversations of criminals, it plunges her into a new and thrilling world.

My snaps show her leaving the pub on her bike when she gets hit by a car.

The crash might not have been an accident, though . . .

The Scots actor plays dad Rob Robinson in BBC special The Primrose Railway Children, alongside Bodyguard’s Nina Toussaint-White as his on-screen wife Sarah.

They are joined by children Phoebe, Becks and Perry as they embark on a new life in the remote Scottish Highlands after being uprooted from Glasgow.

The 90-minute film, which will air on the BBC over the festive period, is based on the 2021 novel by Jacqueline Wilson, which in turn is a reimagining of the classic 1905 story The Railway Children by E Nesbit.
