A NURSE who faked qualifications to land a senior NHS job looking after sick babies has been jailed for five years.

Tanya Nasir, 45, was paid more than £210,000 in wages before she was suspended in 2020.

She fabricated degrees and experience to work as manager of the neo­natal unit at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, South Wales.

The mum of two, of Rickmansworth, Herts, previously made “false representations” to a ­hospital in West London.

She denied fraud but was found guilty of all nine counts at Merthyr crown court in July.

Judge Richard Kember said: “There was a risk for a catastrophic outcome for patients and staff.”

In June, The Sun reported that Tanya lied about being an Army major.

Nasir allegedly said she was shot while serving in Afghanistan.

In reality she failed a fitness test and never saw active service.

She was accused of lying on application forms to secure a ward manager post in a unit for sick and premature tots.

Emma Harris, prosecuting, told the jury Nasir, 45, was “responsible for the care of newborn babies”, placing the “most vulnerable of patients at risk”.

In January 2020, after five months  at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, South Wales, Nasir faced a revalidation of her Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.

However,  her line manager noticed inconsistencies in her CV and she was suspended.

ALDI shoppers have discovered a barcode sticker on the back of some merchandise, and it could be identifying lower prices.

The orange marking was spotted recently and covered the UPC barcode on the back of an item at the retailer.

“What does this sticker mean?” Aldi shopper Ty Avera questioned in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Avera included a picture of the visible orange sticker on the barcode for a container of mixed nuts.

Several customers responded with answers as to the purpose behind Aldi’s orange sticker, but nothing was definitive.

Some claimed that they were told by employees that the orange sticker meant the item was on sale.

“We went through this yesterday! It was asked! It’s discounted,” a fellow Aldi shopper replied.

“Is it marked down?” another suspected.

TAG TURMOIL

A few others disagreed, noting that the orange sticker was likely there to cover the barcode and indicate an error, or it was supposed to be rung up by the cashier differently.

“A lot of stores clearance things out that are getting close to their sell by dates. So that orange sticker may mean to enter a price manually rather than scanning it since it’s over a bar code,” someone commented.

“It’s meant to obscure the UPC code. Maybe it was printed incorrectly,” another echoed.

An alleged Aldi employee also wrote, “just a barcode misprint.”

“We either put a sticker over them or sharpie them out.”

Some customers also speculated that the item was “returned.”

The U.S. Sun has contacted Aldi for an official purpose behind the sticker.

Aldi does implement various labels on products to identify sales and more to staff and customers.

COLORS IDENTIFED

However, none of them have been orange in the past, at least according to what influencer and Aldi superfan Aldi Mamma told The U.S. Sun.

Yellow tags are most commonly seen for core merchandise.

Green tags are often put on produce, and Aldi has used white and red combination tags in recent years to identify items available for a limited time.

Blue tags have identified seasonal favorites, and solid red tags on meat indicate that it will expire soon.

Aldi is known by many shoppers for its low price points.

A shopper earlier this summer did a side-by-side comparison of groceries at Aldi and Walmart and found that they saved around $25 at Aldi.

Aldi also announced this week that it’s offering the “lowest-priced” Thanksgiving meal deal it’s had in five years at just $47.

Liam was very supportive of his former colleagues as he was in Argentina to cheer Niall Horan, 31, on his world tour.

This is despite a number of setbacks in his own career including the split from his management and his second album being shelved.

But now it’s been revealed that Louis, 32, planned to collaborate with his fellow former X Factor star.

Liam wrote a number of songs whilst he was a part of the award winning global group.

In his statement paying tribute to his bandmate, Louis revealed some news that would have surely sent the 1D fans into a frenzy.

He admitted the duo had spoken about reuniting in the studio together to “recreate” some of the chemistry from the glory days of the group.

The star wrote: “Liam was an incredible song writer with a great sense of melody, we often spoke of getting back in the studio together to try and recreate the writing chemistry we had built up in the band.

“And for the record, Liam was in my opinion the most vital part of One Direction.

“His experience from a young age, his perfect pitch, his stage presence, his gift for writing. The list goes on. Thank you for shaping us Liam.”

Louis also admitted that he dreamed about one day sharing the stage with his best pal once again, although tragically that was not meant to be.

He also revealed that the duo became even closer after the band went on their indefinite hiatus and they continued to communicate.

“I feel beyond lucky to have had you in my life but I’m really struggling with the idea of saying goodbye,” Louis said in his essay.

“I’m so grateful that we got even closer since the band, speaking on the phone for hours, reminiscing about all the thousands of amazing memories we had together is a luxury I thought I’d have with you for life.

“I would have loved to share the stage with you again but it wasn’t to be.”

Earlier in the statement, Louis described the late music star as a ‘brother’, as he opened up on the devastation he felt at the tragic news of his death.

“I am beyond devastated to be writing this but yesterday I lost a brother.

“Liam was somebody I looked up to everyday, such a positive, funny, and kind soul.

“I first met Liam when he was 16 and I was 18, I was instantly amazed by his voice but more importantly as time went on I got a chance to see the kind brother I’d longed all my life for.”

He also made a promise to his young seven-year-old son Bear, who Liam shared with Girls Aloud star Cheryl.

“I want you to know that if Bear ever needs me, I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was,” Liam shared.

He added: “I wish I got chance to say goodbye and tell you one more time how much I loved you.

“Payno, my boy, one of my best friends, my brother, I love you mate. Sleep well X.”

TACO Bell has quietly been testing new versions of its famed Crunchwrap Supreme this month.

The fast food giant offered New Yorkers a chance to get a taste of three different variations of the menu item on Wednesday.

Two pop-up food trucks — one at Washington Square Park in Manhattan and the other on North 6th Street in Brooklyn — were serving the fresh Crunchwrap Supreme takes, per Nation’s Restaurant News.

It’s all part of Taco Bell’s TBX Program, a new initiative to encourage customers to start an “innovation journey” and customize Crunchwraps using different ingredients.

In November of last year, the chain also reached out and contacted three award-winning chefs to work with their team and develop versions of the Crunchwrap Supreme to be released to the masses through the New York City Food Trucks.

It was an opportunity that each didn’t believe was real.

“I literally thought it was a scam,” Reuben Asaram, a chef based in Philadelphia who serves Indian-Mexican tacos, told the publication.

CRUNCHWRAP CREATIVITY

Asaram helped create the Indian Buffet Crunchwrap Supreme, made with cucumber mint sauce, spiced rice, lettuce, pico de gallo, and roasted chicken doused in a tomato curry.

It also has the signature Taco Bell tostada shell and flour tortilla with a grilled finish.

The second chef, San Antonio’s Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, leads her team at Best Quality Daughter, an Asian-American restaurant in the area.

She created the Crispy Thai Noodle Crunchwrap Supreme with Taco Bell for the New York City food truck pop-up.

It comes with grilled chicken and a khao soi aioli with crunchy wheat noodles, along with onions, cilantro, sour cream, and an avocado basil ranch sauce.

While Asaram and Dobbertin’s Crunchwrap Supremes deviate from the traditional Mexican flavors customers know and love, the third chef, Lawrence “L.T.” Smith out of Phoenix, elevated the original outline of the menu item further.

Smith works at Chilte, an award-winning Mexican restaurant in the city.

He created a Crunchwrap Supreme with fried chicken nuggets, salsa macha, purple cabbage slaw, cilantro, apricot hot sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, and Oaxaca-style mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses.

HIGH PRAISE

Smith and Dobbertin were also hesitant to move forward with Taco Bell and the TBX program initially but praised the chain for its efforts.

“I asked so many questions upfront — I was like I’m not getting on this [Zoom] call until you tell me what’s up,” Smith told Nation’s Restaurant News.

“You’re cooking for real in the test kitchen, and then how they translate that to their line in every Taco Bell is cool.”

Dobbertin also called Taco Bell’s R&D team “amazing.”

LOYALTY PERK

Customers can also try their hand at creating a Crunchwrap Supreme variation, per Taco Bell’s TBX page.

Those who are loyalty rewards members can get up to $3 toward customizations on a Crunchwrap Supreme order until October 21.

There’s also TBX-branded merchandise for sale from Taco Bell, including t-shirts, hats, and more.

Taco Bell also recently made waves among customers for bringing back a $2 discontinued fan-favorite offering.

The sentencing was originally scheduled for late September.

The charges come days after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and police officials went public with allegations that Indian diplomats were targeting Sikh separatists in Canada.
