De Sousa secured a shock 6-5 win against the world champion to send him home in the second round, with his incredible opening leg checkout proving a sign of things to come.

The Portuguese player, known for his maverick style, required 115 as he approached the oche.

De Sousa opted to go for the bold route of bullseye, 15 and another bullseye.

And he pulled it off in stunning fashion – even getting acknowledgement from Humphries as the pair fist bumped.

Fans were also left shocked, with one saying: “They don’t make them like Jose anymore.”

Another added: “Well, that is one way to take it out.”

De Sousa went on to make the quarter-final before losing to eventual winner Wesley Plaisier.

The Dutchman won the title despite him not having a PDC Tour card.

“I watch games a lot on TV. It’s amazing to be mentioned in social media messages saying I’m the Ronaldo of darts.

“Maybe I can even be a real Special One like Jose Mourinho.

“It’s possible one day Ronaldo will come to see me at Alexandra Palace.

“When he quits in a few years then maybe Portugal’s sport will all be about Jose De Sousa. I hope so.”

How Molly-Mae copied Kylie Jenner’s ‘air of mystery’ to make millions with ‘BBL bodies’ & ‘demure’ mum styles in common

SHE finished Love Island 2019 as the runner up – but in the five years since, Molly-Mae Hague has become the show’s real winner.

The 25-year-old has swiftly become the UK’s most loved influencer and has proved that she’s much more than a former reality TV contestant – with a staggering personal net worth of over £6m.

From her honesty about motherhood, to her ‘BBL body’ and ‘demure’ nature, Brand and Culture Expert Nick Ede shares exactly how Molly-Mae has followed in Kylie’s footsteps

In fact, the mum-of-one, who recently launched her fashion brand Maebe after calling it quits with Tommy Fury, 25, has become the UK’s Kylie Jenner, 27.

Much like the make-up mogul, who is estimated to be worth around £530 million, Molly-Mae not only has an introverted and unaccessible nature, but she’s also proved that she can succeed in business, whilst being a single mother

Molly-Mae, who doesn’t comment on Love Island or even appear on TV these days, previously told The Sun: “I think a lot of it has come to light about me distancing myself from the show because of the new show, but really I have been doing that from the very start.

“When I came out of Love Island, I never wanted to be known as a Love Islander because I felt it closed me off to a lot of other opportunities that I have now explored in the way I distanced myself.”

And not only is the Filter founder now a force to be reckoned with, but the star, who has a 8.3 million followers on Instagram and 1.57m subscribers on YouTube, added: “I do believe, if I had stuck with ‘I’m just a Love Islander, I’m just a Love Islander’, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here now.”

From their fashion and beauty businesses to their favourite designer handbags and Instagram poses, their fans often point out the likeness between the two famous influencers

One wrote: “Molly-Mae is the British version of Kylie Jenner, and I’m here for it”, whilst a second tweeted: “Molly-Mae is the UK’s Kylie Jenner.”

Brand and Culture Expert Nick Ede told Fabulous: “Molly-Mae is fast becoming the UK’s Kylie Jenner with her fashion and beauty empire growing considerably and her celebrity status getting bigger and bigger by the day.

“Molly-Mae has hit a real sweet spot when it comes to popularity.

According to Nick, Molly-Mae has “transformed herself into a more demure version of herself which is very Kylie”
Instagram

“She’s got that Kylie Jenner mystery about her.

“Although her life has been played out in the media and through socials, we still feel that we don’t know everything about her.

“That keeps us wanting more and ultimately buying into her brand like we do Kylie.”

Here we take a look at how the blonde-haired beauty is following closely in Kylie Jenner’s footsteps – from her newly curvaceous body and her demure style aesthetic to her sell-out business acumen.

Khy and Maebe

The YouTube star – who wasn’t afraid to get candid on mum guilt – left many fans fuming recently when she revealed the price tags of her luxurious Maebe buys.

Despite the range selling out in just 24 minutes, fans were sent into a total frenzy by the “outrageous” pricing, and many questioned why the items were “so expensive”.

“Why does Molly-Mae’s new range have to be so expensive?” one shopper moaned on X, previously Twitter.

“Molly-Mae charging an arm and a leg for basic clothes is outrageous,” another slammed.

Whilst Maebe focuses on less is more – a capsule collection of luxury items that you can mix and match – Kylie Jenner’s brand Khy, which also features staple pieces, has also been slammed by fans in a similar fashion.

But much like Khy, fans were divided by the range which has been compared to the likes of Boohoo[/caption]

And while Kylie may have access to the best fashion team in the world, her clothing range Khy has been compared to the likes of Boohoo.

Perhaps inspired by her older half-sister Kim Kardashian, the reality TV star launched a number of businesses, including a make-up line and a swimwear collection.

And at the end of last year, Kylie launched yet another brand – this time, a clothing range named Khy.

The collection, which mainly consists of base layers and faux leather clothes, attracted quite the attention, winning a staggering 504k followers on Instagram in just a week.

But whilst a strapless mini dress costs at astronomical £110, the black trench coat that’s retailing for a whopping £215 left shoppers open-mouthed.

Her savvy business acumen is very similar to that of the youngest Kardashian’s Jenner clan

Nick Ede

And despite the hefty price tags, the faux leather range has also been heavily criticised by fashion fans on social media who branded it as cheap-looking.

One person reckoned: ”It kinda looks like something that Boohoo would make but with Kylie’s name on it and for triple the price.”

Whilst someone else chimed in: “I’m sorry but the material looks cheap.”

But despite the divided fan response, Nick shared: “It’s the success of Molly’s brand that she now has 100 per cent ownership of that’s the most impressive and similar to the Hollywood star.

“With her impressive cosmetics line becoming an instant best seller and now her new fashion collection being praised by the industry and selling out, her savvy business acumen is very similar to that of the youngest Kardashian’s Jenner clan.”

A Molly-Mae fan's opinion on the Maebe range, and its prices

EVER since Molly-Mae Hague, 25, walked into the Love Island villa back in 2019, I’ve always been a mega fan.

After hearing the news that she was coming out with a fashion brand, of course I was excited.

But as much as I hate to admit it, I’m disappointed.

I understand that she’s launched Maebe as a more high class brand. I know it’s not going to be Shein quality.

But with prices varying from £35 to £140, I’m definitely not impressed.

Maebe’s “ultimate blazer” is priced at an eye-watering £140, whilst a very simple, plain white tee is a whopping £35.

Not only this, but the “contour popper top” is £50, and a seemingly boring white shirt will set you back a whopping £65.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, £90 for a pair of jeans? I understand paying £50 for a pair of good quality denims, but £90?!

That’s incredibly steep considering you can get Levi’s, a well-established brand that’s been going for donkey years, for just a tenner more.

So, will I be buying anything from Maebe? The only thing I can say to that is Maebe (definitely) not.

Similar styles

Not only has Molly-Mae followed similar business moves to Kylie, but she’s now also got a comparable style to her, too.

On a recent picture shared on social media, one fan commented: “Molly-Mae I literally had to do a double take here. I thought this was Kylie Jenner!”

We previously saw how Molly-Mae was morphing into the Kardashian star through her Instagram posing, and now, it’s clear that they have both undergone a very similar style evolution.

As is the trend of 2024, with these famous mothers, it appears that chic and expensive looking blow-dries are in and less is more when it comes to fashion.

Molly-Mae’s style is also incredibly chic

Both celebs are clearly fans of classic clothing staples and have neutral wardrobes, with black, white, cream and grey at the centre.

And much like her American counterpart, Molly-Mae has moved away from loud Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga bags to a more elevated Chanel and Hermès Birkin style.

Since launching Maebe, Molly-Mae has posed countless times along her Hermès Birkin 35, a bag Kylie is also a huge fan of.

Not only was Kylie gifted a $100k Hermès Birkin bag from her mother, Kris Jenner, but she’s also got a huge collection of the pricey bags, one of which is covered in diamonds.

Nick agrees, saying: “Molly-Mae’s clothes and style aesthetic are similar to Kylie’s with muted tones being a staple part of her wardrobe.”

Molly-Mae's glow-down from ‘glamour model’ to ‘yummy mummy’

Celebrity PR Expert, Ed Hopkins told Fabulous: “I believe Molly-Mae Hague‘s new look is more than just a style change but a powerful statement of who she is becoming.

“It underscores her journey towards authenticity, maturity, and sophistication and is likely to enhance her success and influence in the years to come.”

Brand and Culture Expert Nick Ede agreed, and told Fabulous: “Molly-Mae has transformed herself into a yummy mummy who has ditched the glamour model style for a more relaxed and natural look.

“She’s becoming more down to earth and relatable to people and cleverly showing a softer side which will win her legions more fans in the process.”

According to Ed Hopkins, Molly-Mae’s chic new look could be “highly lucrative” for the star.

Ed told Fabulous: “Molly-Mae Hague’s transformation towards a more natural, chic look seems to be a testament to her personal growth and evolving style.

“This change, which has become more pronounced since she became a mother, appears to reflect her journey towards embracing authenticity and sophistication.

“It’s possible that this new image could be highly lucrative for Molly-Mae.

“Her chic, understated style might appeal to a wider audience, including more mature demographics and high-end brands, potentially opening up lucrative endorsement deals and partnerships.

“By adopting a more elegant look, she seems to align herself with premium and luxury brands that favour natural beauty and sophistication, which could lead to higher-paying collaborations.

“Additionally, with consumers increasingly valuing authenticity and natural beauty, her new image could be both timely and marketable.”

Nick Ede agreed and told Fabulous: “She has started to promote some really great luxury brands including the cosmetics brand Tatcha and with her laid back look she will make a lot of money from brands looking to align with her.”

Ed also noted that Molly-Mae’s transformation may be a sign that she is looking to step away from her reality show past.

He continued: “Molly-Mae’s transformation also seems to symbolise her desire even more so to well and truly step out of the shadow of her Love Island persona.

“The shift to a more mature and unique style appears to demonstrate her growth and her wish to be seen as an individual beyond her reality TV beginnings.

“By shedding the bold, flashy look associated with her time on Love Island, she might be rebranding herself as a serious businesswoman and influencer who is carving out her own identity.

“This new look helps her stand out in the crowded influencer market, showcasing her as a trendsetter with a distinctive, refined aesthetic.”

Nick agreed and claimed: “Shedding the flash looks she previously went for, she’s also detaching herself from the Love Island stereotype and stepping out as her own person with a cool look that’s not flashy but totally on trend.

“Gone are the ‘look at me’ posts and in are family style posts and trend led fashion statements.”

Curvaceous figures and BBL accusations

Much like Kylie – who has long been accused of having a BBL, something she has never confirmed or denied – in recent months, Molly-Mae has also been questioned about going under the knife.

It started after the star posted a snap from her sister Zoe’s hen do in Ibiza, showing the influencer in a black two-piece bikini, giving a glimpse of her perky bottom.

The shot ruffled followers who claimed the star may have had a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a type of cosmetic surgery costing around £7,000 which improves the shape and size of the bottom.

While Molly Mae hasn’t commented on the suggestion, one person said: “Your surgeon did such a good job!! Unreal”, whilst another added: “1000000% BBL.”

A third commented: “Palm of the surgeon’s hand. Did a cracking job. Least you can do is be honest with your followers”, whilst someone else claimed: “I can’t believe how much work she’s had done.”

As a new mother, she’s embracing her curves and looks fabulous, just like Kylie!

Nick Ede

Similar to this, Kylie has long been accused of having a BBL, and recent snaps caused fans to claim that the mother has even gone as far to ‘reverse her BBL’.

In a full-body video of the star in her closet, one fan wrote: “You’re supposed to maintain the weight for the rest of your life after a BBL. That’s why she’s looking all wonky nowadays.”

Meanwhile, someone else penned: “Am I tripping? Or does it seem like [Kylie] removed her butt implants and took out fat?!”

Nick explained: “Molly-Mae’s body is now far more curvaceous than it was previously when Love Island started.

“As a new mother, she’s embracing her curves and looks fabulous, just like Kylie!”

Mums doing it all

After breaking up with rapper Travis Scott, 33, Kylie has openly spoken about being a single mother.

Both mums have been open about solo parenting[/caption]

When it comes to co-parenting Stormi, six, and Aire, two, with her ex, speaking to WSJ Magazine, Kylie said: “It’s going… I think we’re doing the best we can do.”

Kylie also explained that her daughter has taught her a lot about herself, adding: “My daughter has totally taught me a lot more about myself, and seeing myself in her has changed everything.

“I’ve had so much growth and am just embracing natural beauty.”

And similar to Kylie, Molly-Mae, who is co-parenting her daughter Bambi with ex Tommy, has also got candid on life as a busy mum.

Not only is she emulating Kylie’s success as a mother but she’s transformed herself into a more demure and shy version of herself which is very Kylie

Nick Ede

In a YouTube vlog alongside her sister Zoe, 28, Molly-Mae shared: “Those first few weeks of Bambi’s life…hell and back. We were having a breakdown.

“The first night with Bambi in the house, I was by myself. Now I look back, it sends shivers down my spine, I had no idea what I was doing.”

The star also revealed the “dark times” she had when breastfeeding, as she said: “I think it’s lovely to give it a go but don’t put any pressure on yourself because that’s what I was doing and I genuinely think that contributed to my milk supply just giving up on me.”

When it comes to the similarities between the young mothers, Nick explains: “Molly-Mae has the same appeal as Kylie because as a young mother she shows how she’s juggling being an entrepreneur and negotiating being a single mum too.

“Not only is she emulating Kylie’s success as a mother but she’s transformed herself into a more demure and shy version of herself which is very Kylie who isn’t a spotlight hogger and prefers to be at home rather than out out.”

Timeline of Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury's split

After five years together, Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury split up in August 2024.

At around 4pm on Wednesday, August 14, Molly-Mae and Tommy suffer an explosive showdown and Molly-Mae announces her split from fiancé Tommy Fury, saying ‘ I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way’.

An hour later Tommy shares a separate and brief statement confirming they have parted ways, and thanks Molly-Mae for making him ‘a dad’.

The real reason they split emerges and on Thursday, August 15 The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae learned Tommy had cheated on her – leading to an explosive showdown.

On Saturday, August 17, The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae had been sent an upsetting video showing Tommy kissing a girl in a nightclub in North Macedonia on a lads holiday.

Exactly one week after the split a Danish woman accused of getting close to Tommy speaks to The Sun. On Wednesday, August 21, she denies she is the girl who kissed Tommy.

What your man’s sexual fantasies say about him – from candlelit night to quickie in the park & red flags to look out for

EVER found yourself wondering what’s really going through your man’s mind when the bedroom lights dim, and the mood heats up?

Sexual fantasies have the potential to reveal hidden, secret aspects of your partner’s personality you may be unaware of.

While most fantasies are perfectly healthy, there are some that raise a few eyebrows[/caption]

Psychologist Emma Kenny has revealed the true meaning of your man’s desires[/caption]

Sometimes, they can even expose insecurities or unspoken desires he might not express in his everyday life.

According to National Institutes of Health, about 90 – 97 per cent of the general population report having sexual fantasies and using them to stimulate desire or intensify arousal.

And, while most fantasies are perfectly healthy, there are some that might raise a few eyebrows, and could even signal potential red flags in your relationship.

Here, psychologist Emma Kenny reveals what your man’s sexual fantasy really means and what to look out for.

Raucous role play

If your man loves a bit of costume drama in the bedroom, it’s representing more than just a fun night in.

Role play shows he’s creative, open-minded, and keen to keep things fresh.

Whether it’s dressing up as a superhero or getting into character as the strict headteacher, he’s someone who doesn’t shy away from adding a bit of spice to your love life.

He’s imaginative and probably great at surprises, but at times this could also mean he fails to take certain responsibilities seriously.

Multi-partner fantasies

This fantasy could have the potential to make you feel a little uncomfortable, and even a tad insecure.

But if he’s dreaming about being with more than one person at a time, it may simply be that he craves variety and excitement – it doesn’t have to mean that he’s looking to stray.

He might just be wired to fantasise about the forbidden.

He’s adventurous and likely very open about his desires, but if this is a recurring fantasy, you might want to ask if he’s feeling truly fulfilled.

If he keeps pushing this idea, it might be a sign of deeper commitment issues.

Multi-partner sex doesn’t mean he will stray but it’s something to look out for[/caption]

Power and control (or rough play)

Does your man like being in charge in the bedroom?

A little bit of power play is perfectly normal, as many men enjoy feeling dominant because it makes them feel desired.

Men who crave adventure in their fantasies are often adrenaline junkies who love the thrill of being caught

Emma Kenny

But there’s a fine line between being assertive and tipping over into rough territory.

Whilst it can feel exciting to allow him to be in control at times, if he’s only turned on by dominance it might be masking some insecurity, or a need for control outside the bedroom.

Keep things balanced.

Adventure and spontaneity

Is he always suggesting a quickie in the park or a risqué encounter somewhere public?

Men who crave adventure in their fantasies are often adrenaline junkies who love the thrill of being caught.

Whilst he seems exciting and brings energy to your relationship, just make sure his sense of adventure doesn’t push your boundaries too far.

What’s exciting for him might leave you feeling exposed in more ways than one!

a man kissing a woman 's arm with a blindfold on

If he is passionate then embrace it but watch out for the emotional connection[/caption]

Passion and romance

If your man’s fantasies are more about sweeping you off your feet, lighting candles, and making every encounter feel like a scene from a rom-com, lucky you.

He’s all about emotional connection and making sure you feel adored.

He’s deeply in tune with your emotional needs, and sex is about bonding for him.

The only possible concern with this ‘green flag flyer’ is that on occasion he may be so focused on keeping things perfect that he avoids dealing with any real issues in the relationship.

Flexibility and openness

If your guy is all about exploring new things, whether it’s trying out toys, different positions, or even new relationship dynamics, it means he’s not afraid to push boundaries and is open to new experiences.

He’s clearly open-minded, which can make for a really fulfilling sex life.

While fantasies are just that, fantasies, this could be a clue that he needs to work on feeling secure in his everyday life

Emma Kenny

But if he’s constantly pushing for more extreme or unconventional ideas, you might wonder if he’s chasing novelty at the expense of intimacy.

The red flag fantasy – total control

Here’s where it gets a little dicey.

If your man’s fantasies are all about him calling the shots, and if his ultimate turn-on is having complete control – with absolutely no input from you – it could be a sign of deeper issues.

a man is holding a pair of handcuffs over a woman laying on a bed
Getty
Letting him take control is good but Emma urges those to look out for a specific sign[/caption]

Fantasies like this suggest he’s struggling with power dynamics, and that can spill over into real life.

While fantasies are just that, fantasies, this could be a clue that he needs to work on feeling secure in his everyday life.

If he can’t allow you to have a say in the bedroom, then he may very well struggle with you having any say, anywhere, full stop.

Sir Alex Ferguson reveals he snubbed Arsenal and Tottenham as he opens up on why Man Utd was only club for him

SIR ALEX FERGUSON has revealed he rejected Arsenal and Tottenham before taking the Manchester United job.

Red Devils fans learned earlier this week that the club have stopped paying the legendary Scottish manager’s £2million-a-year ambassadorial salary.

Ferguson revealed the story to Scotland legend Ally McCoist[/caption]

It ends his 11-year spell in the role – which he began just months after announcing he was stepping down from his position as head coach in 2013.

Ferguson, 82, won 13 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues and five FA Cups during a hugely successful 27-year stint as boss.

But history could have been very different had he agreed to offers from either of the big North London clubs.

Ferguson, who was managing Aberdeen at the time, also revealed Wolves had submitted a proposal to him.

Speaking to Rangers and Scotland icon Ally McCoist on TNT Sports’ YouTube channel, he said: “I turned down Arsenal and I turned down Wolverhampton Wanderers and I turned down Tottenham.

“I said [to Aberdeen chairman Dick Donald] that maybe it was time for me to leave, blah, blah, blah, and he said to me ‘don’t talk like that’.

“You should go only to one club – Manchester United. I never budged until that came long. When it came along, I couldn’t get there quick enough.

“I have to say there was a lot of trepidation about it. Travelling down that morning, in the plane with Martin Edwards and the lawyer Maurice Watkins, I was asking a lot of questions and I wasn’t getting all the answers.

Fergie axe comes at the right time - and he knows it

By Phil Thomas

IT is over a decade since he left the dugout but Sir Alex Ferguson has lost none of his sense of timing.

When to sell, when to buy, when to change and ultimately when to go, Fergie has always been in a class of his own.

Over the years there were countless decisions which had everyone scratching their head — but Sir Alex always knew the time was right.

Some were more obvious than others. Like the night Manchester United won the Treble on the back of his substitutions.

Others less so, like the summer of 1995 when terrace legends Mark Hughes, Paul Ince and Andrei  Kanchelskis were sold at the peak of their powers.

The whole of football thought the manager had lost his marbles.

But Fergie knew better, as he chose that year to unleash his “you win nothing with kids” Double heroes.

Just as he knew best when it came to right-hand men.

Brian Kidd, Steve McClaren, Archie Knox and Co — an endless list of world-class coaches who all came and went.

And, of course, the biggest decision of all. Calling time on 26 years in which he had gone from the brink of the bullet to English football’s greatest-ever gaffer.

The majority of people are convinced Ferguson stepped down because he knew United’s era of dominance was over.

Maybe not the nosedive to come but certainly that an almighty rebuild was just around the corner. Another mass overhaul, yet not one he was prepared to oversee.

Now another end has arrived. Not as dramatic or as out-of-nowhere, admittedly, but an end nonetheless.

Next summer Fergie will leave his 12-year role as global ambassador. Many see it as the most ruthless swing of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting axe — and they are wrong.

For while he is trying to save every penny in making United great again —  how’s that going, Sir Jim? — Ferguson has not suddenly and callously been told he is surplus to requirements.

This decision was a two-way call. An amicable parting. Football’s own conscious uncoupling, in Chris  Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow lingo.

And not, incidentally, a departure which means we will no longer see Fergie at Old Trafford on a matchday.

That  simply  will  not  happen.   He  will still be there rain, wind or shine . . .
Only now as a high-profile non-executive director, rather than a man with the ear — and the sway — behind the owners’ biggest decisions.

Like he was when urging United to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo in 2021.
Admittedly not his finest hour, rather an indication of the influence he still retained.

Back then, until just before  Ratcliffe and his Ineos team arrived, in fact, Ferguson had the owners’ ear. Almost a hotline to the Glazer family, you could say.

And those days are done.

Not that Sir Alex is bereft at the thought. For a start, some of the staff sackings have enraged the Scot — long-serving photographer John Peters and kitman Alec Wylie, for example.

This is not a cosy-cosy relationship with Ratcliffe being severed.
If anything, it is closer to the opposite. And as Fergie the Red, in every sense The Boss — those who played under him still call him that  — knows, trousering £2million or so a year in such tight times is not a good look.

Fair enough, not an amount anyone would turn down in normal circumstances.

Yet when many in the steerage class are losing their livelihoods, it is not something that would have sat well with him.

There is also the practical side of things as well.

At the end of December, Sir Alex will be 83 years old, albeit still a freakishly fit 83 years old.

Yet even though the grey matter remains oh-so-sharp and the mind clear as a bell, the bones grow creakier and even Superman had to put his feet up on occasion.

That does not mean you will not see shots of Fergie alongside Ratcliffe at various points — Sir Jim loves too much the associated glamour of being pictured with the greatest.

But any idea of Sir Alex having an emperor’s thumbs-down power has gone for good — and quite frankly that is something which suits both sides.

“Wee Gordon Strachan used to phone me quite a lot and I didn’t get a great picture through that. I knew all the players, world-class names in many ways.

“I was determined to install something I did at Aberdeen and St Mirren, and that was to produce young players.”

Ferguson went on to become Man Utd‘s most successful ever manager and one of the greatest coaches of all time.

But reports claim he has now been “blocked from the Man Utd dressing room” after losing his ambassadorial position.

He will remain a non-executive director and be welcome at matches.

But the axing of his seven-figure salary is the latest in a long-line of cuts made by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

He has also cancelled senior Man Utd staff’s private cars and reduced lunch privileges on match-days.

The full episode of Ally’s Social Club with Sir Alex Ferguson will be available to watch on TNT Sports’ YouTube channel from midday today and broadcast on TNT Sports 1 at 10.30am on Saturday.

Watch Roy Keane’s stunned reaction as he discovers Fifa are trialling bold rule change he suggested

Keane’s response had the panel in stitches[/caption]

Having hung up his whistle in 2014, Webb became the chief refereeing officer for the PGMOL in 2022.

In his job, the Yorkshireman has had a hands on role in the implementation of VAR in the Premier League.

This week he joined Keane, Gary Neville, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Wayne Rooney on Stick to Football, brought to you by Sky Bet.

During the conversation, Neville brought up that Keane had recently suggested changing the implementation of technology in officiating to a system in which coaches would receive one challenge per match.

Asked if this was something that could be feasible, Webb revealed: “We’ll only really know by seeing it in practice.

“Interestingly enough, at the moment is the Under-17 Women’s World Cup, England are playing there, we talked about it earlier Jill, and we’ve just finished the Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, the 17s is in Dominican Republic.

“They’re using this on trial, so each coach has two challenges a game, it’s called…”

At this point, Webb was interrupted as Wright slapped Keane on the arm and joked: “You’re wasted here!”

Keane, 53, then joked: “I’m wasted here! I should be working for Fifa or something.”

Through laughter, Scott quipped: “Can you imagine Roy, head of Fifa?”

The former Man Utd skipper then put on a pretend stern face as he replied: “What’s wrong with that Jill? What’s wrong with that?”

As Neville howled with laughter, Keane continued: “I’ve worked at the highest level, I’ve played at the highest level… I’m sitting here eating chocolate.”

Webb went on to boldly claim that there have only been two VAR errors so far this season, a significant reduction on the number recorded at this time a year ago.

He said: “I don’t think we managed expectations well in terms of VAR. We knew it was always going to be a situation where it was going to do well on those clear situations, the ones where you think, ‘That’s clearly wrong on first view’.

“We have this independent panel which has got ex-players on it, and they judge each decision each week, and according to the panel there has only been two VAR errors this season compared to 10 at the same time last year.

“We’ve been better at hitting the mark but that can change and we’re not going to get complacent, but it’s been better. For me, the biggest thing of all is that it’s been quicker.

“The average delay last season through VAR was 70 seconds per game and this year it’s 25 seconds.

“I said to the guys, ‘Don’t ponder for too long, if you see a situation that jumps off the screen then get involved, but if you’re having to think about it too much then just say check complete because we’ll leave it with the referee on the field’. That’s why the term, ‘Referee’s call’ is useful.”

Jet2 launches holiday packages to two new Christmas destinations with £2 beers and honey wine

THE country’s largest tour operator is launching new package holidays to two festive destinations in Europe.

Brit holidaymakers will now be able to book package holidays to Bratislava and Malmo with Jet2.

The tour operator has confirmed it will be launching package holidays to the city break destinations following strong demand from UK holidaymakers.

Jet2 will operate flights from Manchester Airport and Birmingham Airport to Vienna Airport in Austria.

From Vienna, it’s an hour’s drive to Bratislava where holidaymakers can book into a range of four star hotels located in the heart of the city.

Package holidays to Bratislava from Manchester and Birmingham airports go on sale today (October 18) until May 19, 2025.

Jet2 will also add extra services to Vienna from several UK airports, including Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford and London Stansted.

These flights will operate in November and December for the festive period.

Bratislava in Slovakia is a relatively small for a European capital, but it has a lot for visitors to explore along its streets.

Chief among them is its incredibly affordable beer selection, with pints averaging around £1.60.

Such is Bratislava‘s pull for beer drinkers, food and drinks blogger Global Treats described it as “heaven” for those who like a pint and said beer was cheaper than water in some places.

Beer isn’t the only popular drink in the city either, with honey wine a special local tipple.

It’s traditionally sold during the winter at Christmas markets, where it’s often drunk hot.

Visitors to the city can go to the Medovina distillery where the honey wine is brewed, so they can taste it and learn more about the bees and the brewing process.

The best place to enjoy a drink in Bratislava is the city’s old town, which is described as an “historic neighbourhood filled with charming narrow lanes, burgher’s houses and nobles’ palaces”.

It’s also the perfect part of the city in which to try local dishes like bryndzové halušky, described by Flash Pack as “gnocchi-like dumplings served with sheep cheese and a sprinkling of bacon”.

It has thousands of five-star reviews on TripAdvisor, as well as winning a Travellers‘ Choice Award this year.

One wrote: “Very beautiful. Especially charming during Christmas market, where you can feel the holidays atmosphere, to taste delicious food, sausages, beer, boiled wine, desserts etc.”

Other attractions include Bratislava Castle, the Slovak National Museum and the highly Instagrammable Blue Church.

Jet2 will also be launching package holidays to Malmo in Sweden.

Christmas market getaways to Malmo will run from November 29, 2024 until December 23, 2024.

Flights will operate from Leeds Bradford Airport and Newcastle International Airport.

Brit holidaymakers will fly from the UK to Copenhagen before taking a direct train over the Oresund Bridge that links Denmark and Sweden.

Twice weekly services will operate every Monday and Friday from Leeds Bradford and Newcastle International Airport this winter.

Holidaymakers can bok to stay in a range of hotels in Malmo through Jet2 City Breaks.

Just like Bratislava, Malmo is another popular Christmas market destination thanks to the wooden market stalls selling festive treats and local delicacies like gløgg and saffron buns.

However, unlike Bratislava food and drink in Malmo is a little pricier, with a pint of beer costing around £5.80.

Located in the city’s largest square, Gustav Adolfs Torg market is adorned with twinkling lights and shopping stalls.

Other attractions in the square include an ice rink, choir singers and a carousel.

Jet2 boss, Steve Heapy, said: “City and Christmas market breaks are continuing to grow in popularity, so we are delighted to be going on sale with two brand-new destinations for Winter 24/25.

“Bratislava and Malmo are fantastic destinations, and we are expecting these new city and Christmas market packages with Jet2CityBreaks to be very popular with both customers and independent travel agents.

“We are always listening and reacting to feedback from holidaymakers, and this latest expansion of our Cities and Christmas Markets programmes for this winter is just another example of that.

“With the addition of Malmo and Bratislava to our already huge winter programmes, customers are spoiled for choice when it comes to discovering a new city or experiencing a European Christmas market this season.”

Yorkshire Tea confirms popular breakfast tea will be axed as shoppers complain of national shortage

YORKSHIRE Tea has discontinued its popular “Toast and Jam” teabags – leading sweet-toothed fans to plead for them back.

The flavour was launched in 2020 as “a strong breakfast blend with all of the loveliness of jam on toast without the crumbs.”

Yorkshire Tea has axed one of its popular tea flavours

But after years at the breakfast table, the comforting brew is gradually being phased out in shops, leaving customers desperately scrambling for the final boxes.

One said on social media site X.com: “Please tell me that you are still doing Jam on Toast teabags? I can’t get them in the supermarket!!!!! And need them badly.”

Another added: “Is your toast and jam tea still a thing? Tried 3 different supermarkets in North Devon and it isn’t anywhere. Send help, or jammy tea! The search continues!””

A third said: “Have you stop making jam and toast… I need my morning fix! Help this is a genuine emergency! Asda and Sainsbury’s online stopped stocking it! Helllllppppp.”

Meanwhile, Dr Rachael Door joked: “There appears to be a national shortage of @YorkshireTea Jam and Toast and I’m nearly at breaking point.”

It’s understood that the blend is now being replaced by the brand’s new “Caramelised Biscuit Brew” – which is designed to stop you from craving biscuits with tea.

The new flavour is available to buy from Ocado and Sainsbury’s for £2.30.

Yorkshire Tea periodically introduces new flavours to keep its range fresh and innovative, with “Malty Biscuit Brew” being another sweet flavour in the range.

Tom Church, co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, said: “By making space for the new Caramelised Biscuit Brew, Yorkshire Tea is showing that being inventive is just as important in the tea aisle as it is for chocolate or sweets.

“Innovation is marketing, as they say. I think they will have found most people probably try these different flavours once or twice for novelty.

“There will be some die-hard fans who keep drinking, but the majority probably tail off.

“Adventurous tea flavours gives Yorkshire Tea and chance to stand out, not just on the aisle but in the important social media space too.

“Biscoff biscuit recipes have been trending on TikTok and Instagram for years, and a tea bag that tastes as if you’ve dunked a Biscoff in it? Well, yes please.”

Yorkshire Tea has not commented on the disappearance of Toast and Jam teabags to Sun Money.

But this week it responded to one desperate fan saying: “We’re afraid it’s being discontinued but it’s still available in Tesco, Amazon and Ocado for a little while.”

The Sun had a look at various different retailers and can confirm it is available to buy from Ocado, while stocks last, for £2.30.

Tesco is also still selling the product for £2.

Meanwhile, Amazon is still advertising a multipack of four boxes for £19.98.

It does not appear to be available to buy from Sainsbury’s, Morrisons or Asda.

It’s not the only disappointment for fans of sweet treats.

Earlier this month we revealed how fans of Smarties Buttons were distraught after the loved snack was axed.

Meanwhile, M&S fans have had a series of disappointments recently after the brand decided to axe Connie the Caterpillar sweets and Percy Pig Phizzy Pig Chews.

Why are products axed or recipes changed?

ANALYSIS by chief consumer reporter James Flanders.

Food and drinks makers have been known to tweak their recipes or axe items altogether.

They often say that this is down to the changing tastes of customers.

There are several reasons why this could be done.

For example, government regulation, like the “sugar tax,” forces firms to change their recipes.

Some manufacturers might choose to tweak ingredients to cut costs.

They may opt for a cheaper alternative, especially when costs are rising to keep prices stable.

For example, Tango Cherry disappeared from shelves in 2018.

It has recently returned after six years away but as a sugar-free version.

Fanta removed sweetener from its sugar-free alternative earlier this year.

Suntory tweaked the flavour of its flagship Lucozade Original and Orange energy drinks.

While the amount of sugar in every bottle remains unchanged, the supplier swapped out the sweetener aspartame for sucralose.

Leaked Big Brother audio reveals exact moment show’s surprising romance kicked off as house was evacuated in fire alert

UNEARTHED audio has revealed the secret conversation between Big Brother housemates Baked Potato and Nathan as their friendship turned romantic.

Fans were stunned to discover the show’s most surprising romance kicked off as the house was evacuated in fire alert.

And on Late and Live last night, presenter Will Best shared the moment the pair planned a secret date while still wearing their mics.

Baked Potato says: “I want to ask now.. When we get out, do you want to go to a winery? Just me and you?”

After struggling to hear what she was saying as she repeatedly whispered “winery”, Nathan finally replied: “Yes, of course.”

He then spilled the tea to Ali about their secret conversation – and plans to date outside of the experience.

Their feelings became transparent when Nathan, Baked Potato and Lily were in the garden last night.

Lily – who was desperate for a snog – dared them to kiss and it ended up exposing their hidden feelings.

Nathan and Baked Potato (Rosie) were whispering to each other how they both had to “run away” from Lily.

The duo quickly retreated to the bathroom as they were both completely taken aback by Lily’s actions.

They both asked each other: “Why is Lily kissing us?”

Housemates were told they must call Rosie “Baked Potato” for the foreseeable future after a dare in the first week.

She has grown close to King Charles‘ former butler Nathan in the house.

It follows Henry and Jordan’s romance last series.

The pair are still together now, a year after Jordan won the show and a £100,00 prize.

Watch the horrifying moment Married At First Sight UK’s Polly lashes out at Hannah as feud reaches boiling point

MARRIED At First Sight star Polly went to war with Hannah as they reached boiling point at last night’s dinner party.

The pair have not seen eye-to-eye after some of the girls claimed Hannah was flirting with their husbands.

Polly got into an expletive rant and said Hannah had ‘rubbed her up the wrong way’

Before entering the dinner party, Hannah admitted she was feeling nervous to face the other brides.

Speaking to the camera, she said: “I’m walking in, I feel pretty nervous. I don’t really know who’s mad at me, so I don’t really know what I’m walking into.”

Hannah was greeted by some of her co-stars including Luke and Amy and Kristina and Kieran.

But Holly was quick to take a brutal swipe and said: “Look what the cat’s dragged in.”

Her savage remark even shocked the experts and branded it “unkind”.

Polly then insisted that she had no plans on “acknowledging” Hannah tonight and proceeded to ignore her.

Hannah walked over to Polly, Holly and Sionainn but was met with a cold reception.

Gym owner Hannah asked the trio: “You alright?,” with Polly coldly looking in the opposite direction.

Hannah said: “Are you saying hi? No?”

Polly replied: “No, not really,” as Hannah gave Sionainn a hug and made a swift exit.

The other contestants were baffled by Polly’s behaviour.

Kieran said: “Why didn’t you say hello?”

A furious Polly replied: “Why the f*** should I say hello, f*** her, f*** her.

“You’ve rubbed me the f***ing wrong way now.”

Things went from bad to worse with Hannah, as her husband Stephen also refused to acknowledge her.

He blanked her and walked past her in a frosty exchange.

Expert Paul C Brunson said: “No matter what she’s done, at least a hello,” with Mel Schilling adding: “That’s disrespectful.”

At the dinner table, Stephen continued to dismiss is wife and said no further conversation was needed because their marriage dead.

Stephen had his eye on another bride after learning that Sionainn and Ryan had a row the night before.

MAFS UK viewers previously saw make-up artist Sionainn marry former semi-professional footballer Ryan.

During a conversation with Holly, Stephen admitted his attraction for Stephen’s wife and would make a move on her if Ryan didn’t turn up to the dinner party.

Holly later told Sionainn: “He said, ‘if Ryan doesn’t turn up to tonight, I’m going to shoot my shot’.”

And it’s not long before the news gets back to Ryan.

During a tense confrontation in front of the group, Ryan raged: “If I wasn’t here, you’d crack on with her? Muppet.”

Stephen’s then seen saying: “F*** me. This wasn’t part of the plan.”

In a conversation with Amy and Luke in last night’s show, Hannah made it clear her relationship with Stephen was over.

Hannah told them: “I’ve got a feeling everyone’s now got it in for me.

“I spoke to Orson last night and that was such a good chat, he’s really funny.

“He was like ‘you’re amazing, you need to rate yourself and not let a guy bring you down, because you came into this so open and so confident and you need to bring yourself back to that person’, which I massively appreciated him saying to me.

“Half of me is like my relationship is done, it’s dead, I need to take this ring off to be honest.

“Is there an opportunity potentially for a connection with someone else?”
