A ONE-YEAR-OLD baby boy and a woman have died from their injuries after a crash between a car and a double decker school bus in Cornwall.
The crash happened on the B3296 Meaver Road at Mullion at 8.40am on Monday morning.
The woman involved in the crash has now died in hospital[/caption]
The 31-year-old woman car driver died earlier this week in hospital from her injuries and today police said the baby boy – believed to be her son – had also died.
Both were in the car which collided with the bus taking 28 children to the local Mullion school.
One child on the bus was seriously injured, the rest sustained only minor wounds.
The dead pair were travelling in a silver Vauxhall Astra and lived locally.
Police said they were ‘deeply saddened’ by the deaths and are appealing for dashcam footage to help with their inquiries.
Sergeant Phil Brown from Devon & Cornwall Police Serious Collisions Investigation Team said: “We are deeply saddened that a woman and child have now died following the collision in Mullion earlier this week.
“It is impossible to put into words the grief those close to them are feeling right now.
“Our thoughts continue to be with everybody involved as we continue to work with the school and partners to make sure everybody receives the support they require following this tragic collision.”
The force added the family wish for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time as they come to terms with their loss.

LIAM Payne’s friends were so worried about the star’s excessive drink and alleged drug use in recent weeks that they were planning an intervention, a source has revealed.
Tragically for the distraught pals, they were too late, as Liam, 31, fell from the third floor of the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and died on Wednesday after behaving erratically.
Liam Payne posted this picture before his death[/caption]

Champagne, prescription drugs, white powder and foil wraps were all found in Liam’s trashed hotel room where he plummeted to his death from the balcony at around 5pm.
Fellow hotel guests revealed how the star was acting in a “disturbing” manner shortly before his death, with Liam admitting to one woman: “I used to be in a boy band – that’s why I’m so f**ked up.”
Friends said that Liam had been in a dark place the past few weeks and turned to drink as he struggled with his career and other personal issues.
Liam’s record label Universal also reportedly dropped the star just a few days ago.
A source told The Sun exclusively: “His friends have been worried about him for weeks because he was struggling with his career and wanted to release some new music but he felt he wasn’t as good as his other bandmates, which they kept telling him just wasn’t true. He was just always so hard on himself.
“Then in recent weeks his drinking and suspected drug use started to worry his friends, they were actually planning an intervention, it was that bad.
“They were heartbroken seeing him this way – but just didn’t know how to go about staging a proper intervention.
“They’ve been worried sick about him, he’s just been in a bad place for the past few weeks. Lots of his friends had been telling him gently to get professional help or go to rehab but he just wouldn’t listen.
“The day of his death he was acting very off and erratically. One of his friends suggested to him again to him that he should get help but this just seemed to set him off more.
“Everyone is just distraught – their only comfort is that police have said he would have died instantly in the fall so he wouldn’t have suffered.”
Dad-of-one Liam was in the Argentinian city for his bandmate Niall Horan’s concert when he died.
His girlfriend Kate Cassidy, 25, had been with him on the trip but reportedly returned home to Florida two days before his death.
Emergency services in Buenos Aires confirmed he died instantly from fatal injuries to his skull.
An autopsy stated that Liam’s severe injuries led to “internal and external haemorrhaging”.
Police said they found what appeared to be “narcotics, alcohol, destroyed objects and furniture” in his hotel room as well as over the counter and prescription drugs.
Results from a toxicology report are pending.
In recent weeks his drinking and suspected drug use started to worry his loved ones, they were actually planning an intervention, it was that bad.
One hotel guest Brett Watson told ITV that he saw Liam appear to pass out before being physically removed from the lobby and taken back to his room.
Staff then made a 911 call telling cops that they needed “urgent assistance” with a guest who was “behaving erratically”.
They reported that the guest was “destroying everything in his room” according to recordings of the call.
Argentinian prosecutors said they had spoken to two witnesses who were allegedly with him the night before his death, although it is believed the two females left the hotel without him earlier on Wednesday after waiting for him in the lobby, local news outlet Infobae reported.

5 days agoSouth TvComments Off on One of the world’s best airlines with UK flights reveals new cabins – with better economy seats and suite doors
ONE of the best airlines in the world has revealed their brand new cabins – with better seats in economy.
Cathay Pacific was named the fifth best airline in the world earlier this year in the SkyTrax Awards.
Cathay Pacific is rolling out a new cabin design[/caption]
The new Aria Suite will have private sliding doors for the first time[/caption]
It also won World’s Best Economy this year, as well as World’s Cleanest Airline.
Cathay Group CEO Ronald Lam saying they were “extremely encouraged” after moving up from the top 10 to the top five for being one of the top airlines.
And launching this month are new cabins on their Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
The economy cabin is being “refreshed” with new seat covers as well as improved ergonomics.
The inflight entertainment interface has been improved, while the headrests are now flexible.
Premium Economy upgrades include padded footrests, leather headrests and 12.6 inch 4K screens.
The privacy features have been improved with “wings” and dividers between the seats.
Reading lights, cocktail tables and extra storage are also part of the new designs.
The premium economy passengers also get their own bathrooms on the flight, with touchless flush, taps and bins.
And Cathay Pacific is rolling out their Aria Suite in business class.
The “crown jewel” of business class, new suite doors have been introduced for the first time.
The doors are similar to ones on other airlines such as Qatar Airways and British Airways.
The suites also have 24 inch TV screens, wireless charging and fancy suede walls and wool seats.
There are even new storage designs which have cabinets and drawers, with headphone hooks, drink trays and personal mirrors.
Brits can fly with Cathay Pacific on flights from London Heathrow and Manchester to Hong Kong.
Flights start from £670 return, taking around 11 hours.
Another airline recently revealed their new cabin designs.
Delta connects the UK to the US with flights from London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Edinburgh.
What is it like to go to Hong Kong?
Cathay Pacific connects the UK to Hong Kong – and the Sun’s Deputy Travel Editor Kara Godfrey visited.
“Hong Kong is a great stopover destination between trips to Australia and New Zealand.
“It’s easy to get around — the Metro is simpler than the London Underground and you can even hop on a “ding ding,” one of the many double-decker trams.
“There are amazing bars to choose from – Ozone is the the highest rooftop bar in the world while the Quinary was named one of the best bars in Asia.
“Escape the city for a day to Sai Kung, an hour away and called the “back garden of Hong Kong” although even reminded me of Hawaii.
“If you want to stay, then the most famous is the country’s oldest hotel, The Peninsula.
“Dating back to 1928 and dubbed the Grand Dame of the East, it has since opened a hotel in London.”
