The film depicts how one of the journalist’s biggest stories turned out to be an elaborate hoax and how his career progressed after the shocking revelation.

Here’s everything you need to know about José de Zer.

A storied career

José de Zer was born in 1941 in Buenos Aires and was named Jose Keizer at birth.

His family was Jewish and Jose went on to serve as a reserve lieutenant in the Six Days War in Israel, in 1967.

After serving in the military, he switched careers and became a journalist which set him on a journey to become an expert in the supernatural.

He worked on a radio show named Generación Espontánea, before landing a job on the news program ‘Nuevediario’ in 1984

José began to move in high circles at this time too, as he befriended the governor of Buenos Aires, Eduardo Duhalde, who later became the president of Argentina.

Paranormal experiences

In 1986, José encountered a story about a burnt pasture near to the Uritorco mountains in Córdoba, Spain.

He claimed that this was a UFO landing site and soon produced footage which showed UFO hauntings, lights in the sky and bizarre hieroglyphics.

It was revealed that José planted the hieroglyphics and had left insects around the site to create a sense of mystery.

The lights were revealed to actually just be cigarettes and flashlights pointed by people into the air.

Despite fabricating one of his biggest stories, José went on to become a political journalist who covered conflict in Argentina.

In 1989, he covered an attack on the La Tablada military base by a rogue guerilla group.

José also interviewed Carlos Monzón, a boxer who was put behind bars for the murder of his wife in 1988.

Netflix’s The Man Who Loved UFOs documents his bizarre and extraordinary life, with Argentine actor Leonardo Sbaraglia playing the paranormal expert.

Dollar Tree’s $1.25 tool helped me completely clear my driveway in minutes – it’s much cheaper than anything on Amazon

A SAVVY home-owner has revealed how a handy tool that costs just $1.25 from Dollar Tree helped them clear their driveway in just minutes.

A TikTok user called RebmaEiram has showed viewers how, with a little bit of tweaking, the affordable item can be used to perfectly dig out their driveway lines.

In a short video uploaded to the popular social media platform, Rebma picks out a three-pronged metal cultivator – that indeed costs just $1.25 from Dollar Tree.

Ordinarily, the tool is used to prepare soil for planting, weeding, and aerating soil around plants, and is usually found inside a typical garden shed.

However, in this instance, the TikToker shows how they bent back the middle prong to create a useful tool of their own.

Using this, they can now simply use the improvised tool to remove weeds and dig a little trench around their driveway – a small job that merely took 20 minutes.

Rebma added that the cheap metal cultivator from Dollar Tree was much cheaper than the similar items available from places like Amazon.

A few commenters underneath the video were mightily impressed.

One impressed user wrote: “They have a similar one at ACE that is $55, great deal!”

Another simply said: “Great idea!”

This comes as an expert mechanic warned his viewers to avoid chain auto parts stores when shopping for engine oil – as the same oil can be bought for much cheaper.

Scotty Kilmer, who has over 50 years of experience working on autos, said drivers should head to Costco or Walmart after they know what to look for.

Elsewhere, drivers were left furious recently after a popular automaker failed to deliver on last year’s promise to bring their vehicles to Amazon.

Hyundai and Amazon announced their partnership last year, leaving car lovers excited to see what online vehicle sales would look like – but the program never launched.

In November 2023, the giant companies promised that auto dealers would be able to sell cars on Amazon’s US store in 2024.

With just two months left in the year, dealerships are frustrated as it seems the calendar will close without any movement in the pilot program, which was set to make Hyundai the first brand available to buy online.

Former marine ‘kicked off’ Delta flight over ‘threatening’ shirt with ‘end veteran suicide’ message on sparking outrage

A UNITED States veteran fumed after she was forced to change out of her “threatening shirt” with “end veteran suicide” written across it.

Catherine Banks, from Ukiah, California, was at San Francisco International Airport when a flight attendant allegedly explained her top was too offensive.

She said that she was ordered to make an impromptu outfit change while aboard the Delta flight she was taking to see family on October 16.

Catherine said that a male member of crew suddenly approached her to remove her off the flight.

She told NBC Bay Area: “[He said] ‘Ma’am, ma’am’. I looked around, like, ‘Who was he talking to – and it was me.’

“He said, ‘You need to get off the plane’ and I was like, ‘What did I do?'”

The vet was cooperative when she was escorted off the plane and taken to the jet bridge where she learned why she was removed.

The shirt simply read: “Do Not Give In To The War Within. End Veteran Suicide.”

She explained: “He said ‘That shirt you’re wearing is threatening.’ I said, ‘Are you kidding me?'”

Catherine, who served in the Marine Corps for 22 years, was wearing a grey outfit and had paid extra for a seat with more legroom.

She told the attendant: “I’m a Marine Corps vet. I’m going to see my Marine sister.

“I’ve been in the Marine Corps for 22 years and worked for the Air Force for 15 years. I’m going to visit her.”

But the staff member was left unfazed by her background and issued her an ultimatum if she wanted to return to the plane.

Catherine claims he replied: “I don’t care about your service, and I don’t care about her service.

“The only way you’re going to get back on the plane is if you take it off right now.”

Compliant, she told him to turn around while she swapped the so-called triggering top for a sweatshirt.

The shirt that allegedly caused offense to the Delta employee is sold by the Til Valhalla Project.

It aims to bring awareness to the estimated 22 veterans who die by suicide daily.

Catherine added: “I feel like they just took my soul away. I’m not a bad person, and that T-shirt, I should be allowed to support myself and veterans.”

Once she returned to the jet, she was taken to the back of the plane as her initial more premium seat had already been filled out.

Delta Airlines says they can deny travel to transport passengers if their “conduct, attire, hygiene or odor creates an unreasonable risk of offense or annoyance to other passengers”.

A Delta Spokesperson told the New York Post: “The matter with the customer has been resolved.

“We appreciate her patience as we continue to work to understand what occurred during this event.

“Most importantly, we are thankful for her service to our country.”

The US Sun has approached Delta for comment.

You're not alone

ON average, 123 people a day die by suicide in America.

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.

The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.

If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:
