DEREK Hough’s wife Hayley Erbert has revealed she still has medics on standby when dancing following her emergency brain surgery.

Hayley, 30, was hospitalized after a show last December after suffering a near fatal cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel.

The dancer, who had been performing on stage with her Dancing With The Stars pro husband, was still wearing her costume when she was admitted and underwent an emergency craniectomy.

Almost a year on and Hayley is back dancing again – but she and 39-year-old Derek are not taking any chances.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight ahead of their Derek Hough: Dance For The Holidays tour, Hayley admitted: “I just listen to my body.

“I feel like I’m really in tune with my body because I’m a dancer.

“I do have a medical team still around.”

Derek chipped in, “I’m the one who is, ‘What, WHAT?! We don’t need to do that!”

Hayley added: “It’s true, he’s the one with the nerves.”

Pro dancer Hayley was rushed to hospital on December 7 last year after a performance in Washington DC.

In an Instagram post, Derek described how Hayley became disoriented at the end of his Symphony Of Dance show, which she was also dancing in.

He wrote: “At the end of last night’s performance in Washington, D.C., my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital.

“She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. She is in stable condition.”

Derek added: “I want to thank the first responders and medical personnel who have cared for and continue to care for her. I ask for your prayers and positivity during this time.”

Hayley underwent a second brain surgery later in the month and later shared a photo of her surgical scar with fans.

The pro dancer then bowed out of public life until April this year.

Hayley made her first appearance back on the red carpet with Derek to mark the official launch of Hulu on Disney+.

She was sporting a new cropped hairdo at the cocktail party, which was held in Los Angeles.

Since then, Derek and Hayley have made a slow return to the spotlight and have enjoyed a relaxing vacation together in a tropical location.

Next month, Derek will kick off his Derek Hough: Dance For The Holidays tour, which will run until the end of December.

As part of the tour, he will dance on stage with Hayley at the same Washington DC venue where she suffered her brain bleed.

Speaking to ET, Hayley said: “It’s actually really crazy, we’re going to the exact venue where it all happened.

“Again… almost an entire year later. We’re going to be flooded, flooded with emotions I know.”

Hugging Derek, Hayley added: “He’s going to really feel it.”

In 2025, the couple will star in a documentary about last year’s medical emergency and Hayley’s journey to recovery.

Derek added: “Jason Bergh, he’s an award winning filmmaker.

“He came into the studio, just kept filming, kept coming with us to hospital visits, came out on the road with us and really captured the entire journey because it’s really powerful, it’s really beautiful and it’s amazing.”

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed on Monday that Tua will return from injured reserve after missing four games with a concussion.

McDaniel shared that the plan is for Tua to play on Sunday, but that is contingent on him passing the concussion protocols.

According to ESPN, Tua hasn’t shown symptoms of a concussion for weeks.

“Our plan is to start him practicing on Wednesday, and the clearing doesn’t come until after some of the activity,” McDaniel said.

“But we’re obviously doing so in the hope of everything going well so he can play Sunday, but that will be to be determined.”

The Dolphins likely didn’t have to put Tua on IR for his concussion, but the team made the decision to give him a lengthy amount of time to make an educated decision about his health.

After four weeks on the sidelines, he made the decision that he wanted to return to football.

Tua confirmed himself that he wouldn’t be retiring in a press conference on Monday, and shared his dedication to the game.

“I appreciate your concern. I really do,” he said.

“I love this game. And I love it to the death of me. That’s it.”

Tua also spoke about the risks he will face returning to football, but that he is willing to take them on.

“How much risk do we take when we get up in the morning and drive to work? You can get in a car accident,” he said.

“There is risk in any & everything. I’m willing to play odds.”

The Dolphins will certainly be happy that Tua is returning to the team, as they have been an entirely different offense without him.

Miami is dead last in points per game this year, only averaging 11.7 every weekend. Last season they were No. 3 in the league averaging 27.9.

The team has also bounced back and forth between three different quarterbacks, trying Skylar Thompson, Tim Boyle, and Tyler Huntley.

This quarterback carousel has caused everybody in the offense to suffer. Tyreek Hill doesn’t even have 300 yards yet this season, and is on pace to finish with less than 1,000 yards.

Jaylen Waddle has also been nonexistent without a competent passing game, and is on pace for his first season without 1,000 yards.

The one upside is that the Dolphins defense is playing well, only allowing 21.5 points per game.

If Tua is still the same quarterback as he was before the injury, he should be able to get the Dolphins back on track.

Will it be enough for them to recover from a 2-4 record? Only time will tell.

THE injury status of NEW York Jets offensive lineman Xavier Newman has been revealed.

The 25-year-old suffered a scary neck injury and had to leave the field on a stretch during the Jets’ Sunday Night Football loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Newman got injured on an interception return in the third quarter.

The 6-foot-2, 297-pound guard landed on his back after linebacker Patrick Queen knocked him down to the ground on the return.

Newman was motionless, received medical attention, and was placed on a stretcher as players kneeled around him.

He left the field in an ambulance and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The NBC broadcast reported that Newman had movement in his limbs.

After the game, Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich revealed that Newman’s tests came back negative and he will fly to New York with the team.

“Thank the Lord, his tests came back negative,” Ulbrich told reporters during the postgame conference.

“Huge relief from that.”

Newman is a backup and was in the game for Alijah Vera-Tucker, who left in the second quarter due to an injury.

He was playing in his seventh game of the season.

Newman has played in the NFL for three years and joined the Jets last October.

He entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor in 2022 and signed with the Tennesee Titans.

Newman was released by the Titans in October of 2023 and then signed to the Jets’ practice squad.

The Jets lost their fourth game in a row following their blowout loss to the Steelers.

Davante Adams recorded just three catches for 30 yards in his debut with the organization.

Aaron Rodgers completed 24 of his 39 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown along with two interceptions.

Newman’s injury occurred during one of the interception returns.

The Jets are 2-5 and will face the New England Patriots next Sunday.

The Steelers, meanwhile, have a 5-2 record for the campaign after Russell Wilson won his first start at quarterback with the team.

Menefee spotted this, and pointed out to the Fox cast that he could be speaking to other teams about a trade at that moment.

“Was he on the phone right there?” he said.

After he made the point, the whole cast went silent as they seemingly missed out on the moment.

“We missed it,” Michael Strahan said.

The crew fell into laughter after that and quickly moved on to the next segment.

While Johnson doesn’t think a trade will happen, there are plenty of rumors swirling around the Lions.

One of those rumors is pass rusher Maxx Crosby being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Lions.

The Raiders are 2-5 and likely headed towards a rebuild, and Crosby could get them a good haul of draft picks.

Crosby also reposted a picture on his Instagram that referenced him playing for the Lions.

“Homecoming at the Factory and Maxx Crosby field,” the reposted picture read.

“Time to come home and win a (ring emoji) @maxxcrosby.”

Fans went wild for the post and shared their theories on social media.
