‘I no longer have to wait for the windows to de-mist’ drivers rave about £9 buy that’s a must for cold mornings

MISTY windscreens are something none of us want to deal with this autumn and winter.

But luckily cash-savvy drivers have been raving over an affordable Amazon bargain that tackles the annoying – and dangerous – issue in just minutes.

By now, most of us have come across dehumidifiers for our homes – but did you know there are similar gadgets designed for your car as well?

Retailing for a purse-friendly £9.99, the Reusable Microwaveable Moisture Absorbing Bag is bound to become a game-changer, as the temperatures are begin to drop.

The basics behind misty windscreens are that the air inside your car has millions of little water droplets in it.

When you get in the car or if it’s parked in sunlight, the resulting heat causes the vapour to rise and come into contact with your windscreen, where it condenses and forms a mist.

However, all that doesn’t really help when you’re sat in a cold car, with the air-conditioning on full blast and the windows open, trying not to be late for work or the school run.

The de-mister is essentially a bag full of water-absorbing granules – it soaks up all the extra water in the air, so you get a clear windscreen.

Just leave it on your dash the night before and let it get to work – and the best bit is that it’s reusable.

Once every couple of months, pop it in the microwave for 10 minutes and it’s ready to go.

According to the online retailer, the car essential absorbs over 400ml of moisture.

Simply place the anti slip pad on your dashboard or real shelf and put the 1KG Bag on top and the magic will take place.

With over 430 ratings, it’s easy to see why the demister has become a major hit amongst drivers, winning an impressive four-star rating.

One customer who described the product as ”brilliant” said: ”Saves me at least five minutes every day sitting waiting for the car to demist.

”It must have saved me the price of it in petrol already so a win win for the environment too.”

Another tried using it in their laundry room – and had nothing but good things to say.

Most common illegal driving activities

Here's a list of reckless driving behaviour and the fines and penalties you risk getting from it.

  • Using phone while driving
A cheeky glance at a phone screen will result in six penalty points on your licence and a £200 fine.
New drivers might lose their licence if caught doing so within two years of obtaining it.
  • Speeding
Lovers of fast and furious will end up with a minimum of three points and a £100 fine.
  • Running a red light
This offence will incur three points and £100 fine.
  • Middle lane hogging
It constitutes careless driving and police will hand you a £100 fine with three penalty points.
  • Undertaking
This could possibly result in three points on your licence and a £100 fine.

”I bought this dehumidifier to prevent condensation in our room where we dry our laundry during the winter and to prevent damp odour.

”It has been an excellent buy and value for money. No running costs, just dried out in the microwave when full of moisture.

”I plan to get another for my car now I know they do work.”

Someone else chimed in: ”I had a leak in the car and it kept the damp under control till I could get it fixed.”

However, not everyone was satisfied with their purchase, as one online shopper said ”Can’t say I noticed much difference but unsure if maybe my car is just in a more mew state.

”Would of been interesting to see with my old one that notoriously used to suffer.”

A second critic penned: ”During the lockdown my car started to smell a bit damp.

”So I bought these to try and reduce the humidity. it’s hard to see if they have had any real effect and they don’t seem to soaked up much water over months.

”Doing this properly needs an electric dehumidifier.”

Boss Michel Der Zakarian was axed after a disastrous run of form

Laurent Nicollin blamed the PLAYERS in his astonishing post-game interview after Sunday’s 5-0 pummelling against Marseille.

Montpellier are languishing at rock bottom of the French top flight.

The French side have lot six of their opening eight matches, taking just four points so far this term.

And the club have conceded a staggering 26 goals since the opening day of the season.

Montpellier’s latest nightmare struck on Sunday as Marseille ran riot to move three points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

But the biggest fireworks went off after full-time at Stade de la Mosson as club president Nicollin SACKED the club’s manager on live TV.

Nicollin, 51, told DAZN France: “We can’t change 25 players, so, unfortunately, I’ve taken the initiative to stop Michel tonight.

“We talked in the locker room after the game. I told him it was over tonight.

“And I said to the players that, thanks to their great job, they had fired the coach and that they need to take their responsibilities next week against Toulouse.”

Der Zakarian’s public departure brings an end to the Armenian’s second spell in charge of Montpellier, whom he initially took charge of for four years between 2017 and 2021 before leaving for Brest.

Elye Wahi’s first-minute strike set the tone before Amine Harit and ex-Spurs loanee Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg made it three before half-time.

And former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood rounded off a stunning counter attack to make it 4-0 in the 58th minute.

Greenwood ended his four game streak without a goal to leave a timely reminder to new England boss Thomas Tuchel.

Luis Henrique concluded the scoring, adding a fifth in the 73rd minute, which spelt doom in bold for Der Zakarian.

The 61-year-old – who also represented Montpellier as a player from 1988 to 1997 – becomes the first manager to lose his job in Ligue 1 this term.

‘He is scared’ – Jamie Carragher says Chelsea must upgrade Robert Sanchez after Liverpool defeat

Jamie Carragher took aim at Robert Sanchez following Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, claiming the ‘scared’ goalkeeper must be replaced if the club are to ‘get back to where they want to be’.

Nicolas Jackson dragged Chelsea back into Sunday’s heavyweight contest after Mohamed Salah’s first-half penalty, only for Curtis Jones to restore Liverpool’s lead just moments later.

Chelsea had chances to draw level for a second time at Anfield but hosts Liverpool held onto their narrow advance to reclaim top spot from Premier League champions Manchester City, who beat Wolves earlier in the day.

Sanchez had seemingly nailed down his place as Chelsea’s number one following Enzo Maresca’s arrival in the summer but the shot-stopper had a game to forget on Merseyside.

Having almost cost his side while playing out from the back, Sanchez should perhaps have done better for Jones’ winner and Carragher accused the Spaniard of cowardice for his part in the goal.

‘What I don’t like is that when he goes he turns his face. It’s almost like he’s scared of getting hit by the ball,’ the ex-Liverpool and England defender said in his post-match analysis for Sky Sports.

‘You go back to Peter Schmeichel and when he’d come out he would just make himself as big as possible.

‘He [Sanchez] comes out to Curtis Jones and Curtis Jones should be absolutely terrified that a ‘keeper is coming towards him, he’s 6 ft 4, he’s coming on top of him.

‘But he [Sanchez] is scared of the ball and Curtis Jones and he’s turning his head away.

‘You’ve got to get there and hopefully it hits you in the face and keep it out.

‘We talk about Chelsea and the money they’ve spent and where they still need things… they need a new goalkeeper if they’re going to get back to where they want to be.’

Cole Palmer had one of his quieter games since joining Chelsea from Manchester City and Carragher felt the England international was some way from his ‘best’.

‘When you’ve got someone like Cole Palmer, he’s going to be a big focus of Liverpool before the game so Curtis Jones is all over that. Maybe, at times, Andy Robertson is tucking in,’ he added.

‘You think about how narrow Liverpool were at times and that meant that there was space on the outside.

‘So even though we say that Cole Palmer wasn’t at his best, Liverpool gave up a lot of space out wide so [Jadon] Sancho, in the first half, [Noni] Madueke as well, [Pedro] Neto, had so much time to run at the full-backs because Liverpool had to keep it tight in midfield.

‘The one who was getting time in midfield was [Romeo] Lavia but also [Malo] Gusto was picking the ball up, you’re not going to leave Palmer in a lot of space. But the fact they put Gusto there surprised Liverpool and that’s why, for the main, they controlled the game.’
