Hit BBC panel show returns to TV TONIGHT after months off screen

A POPULAR BBC panel show is set to return to screens after months off air.

It will be the 22nd series for the comedy game show QI as it enters its 21st year on the air.

Sandi Toksvig will be back to front a brand new series of the programme as it returns to BBC Two this evening at 9pm for the first time since May.

Following in QI tradition, this series will be centred around the letter V.

As opposed to using traditional numbers to count their series, QI themes each series around a letter of the alphabet.

Having kicked off series 1 as series A, it has progressed to the next letter for each series thereafter.

The content of each series is then based around things beginning with that letter with the upcoming series set to explore themes ranging from vegetables to visionaries.

Sandi will be joined by co-star Alan Davies as they welcome a slew of guests from the comedy and TV world for the brand new series.

As ever with QI, the extended QI XL will premiere each Tuesday at 9pm on BBC Two with the 30-minute repeat following on Sundays for the first three weeks before being moved back a day to Monday for the final five weeks.

In more good news for fans, the current series is expected to end its run with another festive special.

Speaking about the show’s return and its continued success, Piers Fletcher, the series producer said: “It’s been a wild QI ride through the alphabet, but here we are at the letter V and, after 22 years, I think we’re really getting the hang of it…

“But don’t take my word for it – watch the new series and prepare to be amused, amazed, and (who knows?) maybe even aroused.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Sandi and Alan and all the wonderful guests who have delivered perhaps our best series yet.”

Guests expected to appear across the new run include Loose Women star Judi Love, Strictly star Chris McCausland as well as TV favourites Jimmy Carr, Sara Pascoe and Jo Brand.

Comedy heavyweights Eshaan Akbar, Desiree Burch and Joe Lycett are also set to make appearances on the new run.

And she was joined by her new man Robbie Talbot after taking their relationship to the next level and moving in together.

Helen is said to be “smitten” by the former footballer who has taken on stepdad duties for her brood.

Which certainly looked to be the case as they snogged and snuggled up in the taxi together as they exited the bash after the evening antics.

Robbie helped Helen into the taxi after their fun night out, and they laughed and joked as they went.

Once inside, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other.

Helen and Robbie gazed into each other’s eyes whileas they sat in the back of the cab, before the actress pulled Robbie towards her as they kissed.

In another shot, Robbie appeared to be whispering something into Helen’s ear.

And at another point, an animated Helen stuck her hand in Robbie’s face in a playful manner.

Clearly feeling the love, Helen uploaded a video of them together yesterday too, as they rubbed noses, hugged and nearly went in for a kiss.

The Corrie actress accompanied the PDA clip with Billie Eilish hit Birds Of A Feather.

Helen has found love again after her split with ex Scott Sinclair, 34.

The pair split in 2022 after a 13-year relationship, and share three kids.

The Sun on Sunday revealed Helen and Robbie’s romance in September after it emerged she had a secret man despite claiming to be single while on TV show Celebs Go Dating.

Robbie moved into her family home in a Lancashire village last month, eight months after getting together. The construction firm boss, 44, is often seen at the school gates and playing in the park with her kids, Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three.

A source has now told us: “Helen’s so loved-up with Robbie.

“It’s amazing to finally see her so happy.

“They haven’t been dating for long, but they’re both so smitten they decided to live together.

“It just felt right.”

Robbie also has three kids from a previous relationship.

Thomas Tuchel’s first England XI predicted by Jamie Carragher with ultra-attacking team and one-cap international

JAMIE CARRAGHER has revealed how he believes Thomas Tuchel could line up his England side.

The German, 51, was last week confirmed as the new Three Lions boss on an 18-month contract, set to begin on January 1.

Tuchel’s first game in charge will be next March.

Upon the former Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain boss’ arrival, ex-England defender Carragher had a go at predicting how he will pick his side.

Appearing on Monday Night Football he selected his XI, making some bold choices along the way.

With Jordan Pickford remaining in goal, Carragher added some inexperience to his defence alongside stalwarts Trent Alexander-Arnold and John Stones.

The former Liverpool ace went for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, who has so far earned just one cap, to partner Stones.

While he reckons that Chelsea’s three-cap star Levi Colwill could solve the Three Lions’ left-back issue.

In an attacking 4-2-3-1 system, Carragher opted to move Jude Bellingham into a deeper midfield position alongside Declan Rice.

With captain Harry Kane remaining the focal point up front, Carra selected pace and trickery in the trio behind him.

The former England defender picked this trip to play behind Kane[/caption]

“(Bukayo) Saka has to play on the right wing, he has to,” the pundit began, before pointing at the No10 position. “Cole Palmer for me has to play there.

“Not necessarily because he’s been amazing for England, hasn’t had too many choices.

“But when someone’s playing that well in club football, they have to play.

“And right now I’d play Gordon there (the left). Because if Kane for me is still England’s best centre-forward, you need pace around him.”

It was then pointed out that Carragher had made a huge omission in leaving out Manchester City star Phil Foden.

On the reigning PFA Player of the Year, Carragher added: “You know how much I love Phil Foden.

“But Phil Foden still hasn’t done enough in an England shirt. And you’re getting to the stage now where he’s probably played 40-50 games for England.

“He’s still… Palmer’s not really had his chance yet, neither’s Anthony Gordon, certainly the chances that… (Foden has).”

Foden, 24, has so far earned 41 England caps since debuting in 2020, scoring just once in three major tournaments – against Wales during the World Cup in Qatar.

Palmer, meanwhile, has two goals in nine caps – one as a substitute in the Euro 2024 final – with Gordon having made six appearances, featuring for just one minute in the summer’s tournament in Germany.

I planned to get pregnant at 15 as I thought it would sort my life out – when I met my son I felt I didn’t even want him

A TEENAGER has revealed that she purposefully tried to get pregnant aged 15, as she believed it would help to straighten her life out.

Cassie Valdez, now 19, revealed that she struggled with drinking as a young teenager, and hoped that if she became pregnant, it would force her to stop.

However, things didn’t end up going quite as smoothly as she had planned.

Cassie, from Texas USA, fell into the wrong crowd whilst at school, and started running away from home, and staying at friends houses to get away from her strict mum.

After a while, she realised that this lifestyle was not for her, but she found it incredibly difficult to stop drinking, and felt like she was going crazy when she stayed at home.

“I knew if I didn’t stop, something serious was going to happen to me”, she said.

Cassie then met a boy, and as soon as she met him, decided that she wanted to get pregnant.

“In my mind, if I got pregnant, it was going to stop me going out and getting pregnant”, she said in a viral TikTok video.

Cassie said that she couldn’t see any other way out of the situation, which she now realises is foolish.

After just one and a half months of dating the boy, Cassie discovered she was pregnant.

“I was so happy because I really thought that this was the end to all of my problems”, she said.

However, she soon got a “reality check”, revealing that her pregnancy was “horrible” and made her depressed.

She added that the regrets she had over getting pregnant so young, led her to suffer from post-natal depression.

When her son arrived she said that she knew she loved him, but her PND symptoms made her feel like she didn’t love him, and didn’t want him.

She said that this feeling lasted for a whole year and she now wishes that she had waited.

However, despite her initial regrets, she revealed that she now doesn’t regret anything, and loves her son so much.

UK Teen Mum Statistics

Teen pregnancies in the UK have been decreasing considerably since 2007...

The under-18 conception rate has decreased considerably since 2007, reports Nuffield Trust.

Between 2007 and 2021, the under-18 conception rate in England and Wales decreased by 68%, from 42 per 1,000 women to 13 per 1,000 women.

This resulted in 13,131 under-18 conceptions in England and Wales in 2021.

She told: “I got pregnant the month I turned 15.

“I would do stuff just 14-year-olds just don’t do or are not supposed to do.

“I think I was getting myself into a really deep pool at just 14 years old and I knew if I didn’t stop, something serious was going to happen.

“Having a kid and getting pregnant was going to stop me from going, going out drinking.

“Everything I was doing that I wanted to change.

“I would just hope everyday the day of me meeting my son would come sooner.

“By planning to get pregnant at such a young age, I got a reality check of a lifetime.

“I felt like I regretted even getting pregnant in the first place, which was really sad.

“I wouldn’t change anything now that I do have him, because I love him so much.”
