It is to get the most viewers watching the best teams and in-form players on primetime slots.

In NFL Week 9, the Jacksonville Jaguars were scheduled to play at the Philadelphia Eagles.

This was meant to be the 8.20pm EST kickoff for NBC‘s Sunday Night Football.

But the Jaguars are 2-5 for the 2024-25 season, despite a 32-16 win over the New England Patriots last time out.

And the Eagles have been far from their usual impressive selves, despite a 4-2 record.

Now, the Indianapolis Colts will head to the Minnesota Vikings for the late Sunday slot.

The Eagles against Jaguars game with be heading back to a 4.05pm EST start.

That showdown will be aired on CBS.

“Flex!,” announced NFL Insider Tom Pelissero on X.

“The Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Eagles game will be played at 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS.”

Fans weren’t all happy with the news of the move on social media.

And NFL viewers vented their frustration, calling for a different game to be flexed instead.

One said: “That’s not even a good game.”

Another added: “lions packers not being flexed is a crime.”

A third commented: “Should have been Packers Lions.”

That would have seen the Packers take on their NFC North rivals, the Lions.

The Lions lead the division at 5-1, with the Vikings also at 5-1, and the Packers at 5-2, shortly behind.

Even the Bears at 4-2 are not out of the NFC North title hunt.
