Born as Mia Gypsy Mello De Silva Goth in 1993 in London’s Guy’s Hospital, the now-scream queen moved to Brazil since her mother, Rachel needed help to raise her. There the actress lived for quite some while since her mother was only 20 when she had her and required assistance from her family to raise her kid.

Goth would later hail that her grandmother being an actress and taking her to sets eventually made her enter the realm of entertainment and films. In a 2014 interview with Screen Daily, she remarked,

I moved to Brazil when I was little. My grandmother (Gladys) is an actress over there and she would take me on sets, so that’s where it all started.

The actress, however, had to leave Brazil and went with her mother to Canada, where her father resided —I then went to Canada — when I was in year five, I was in seven different schools. But living with her father was not easy, as Goth revealed in an interview with iNews in 2018.

We tried to live with my dad (Eric) and it was a disaster, not good at all.

She was 12 when her mother and she finally settled down in London, where Rachel worked as a waitress and single parent to raise her. Although her varied experiences and moving to so many schools helped her learn how to act, the time was pretty challenging for her.

Some of the schools I wouldn’t fit in and I would be bullied. As a result, you try to fit your character to the group so you start adopting different ways of being. At one point I became a huge liar, as I knew I would never be anywhere for long. I would say my dad is a brain surgeon or my mum is a chef.

It is understandable that Mia Goth might have had these personality traits since she grew up in such a tumultuous situation. But at the same time, it is admirable that she held on as long as she did and is now one of the most alluring actresses in the film industry.
