Following Young Sheldon‘s conclusion, Chuck Lorre is all set with Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage to take us back to the eccentric world of The Big Bang Theory. The latest show serves as the second spin-off to TBBT and takes place after the events of Young Sheldon.
This time, all the focus is on Sheldon’s elder brother Georgie Cooper, and the actor Montana Jordan confessed that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage presented one of the greatest challenges to him, Tango.
Recently, Montana Jordan, who also appeared as Georgie in Young Sheldon, confessed that filming the opening dance sequence of his upcoming show was an insanely difficult task to pull off.
Montana Jordan did not expect Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage to pose such a challenge
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will focus on Montana Jordan and Emily Osment’s titular characters raising their baby while exploring other mature themes of adulthood, parenting, and marriage. Recently when Jordan chatted with USA Today alongside the rest of the team, he confessed that the opening sequence of First Marriage was extremely challenging for him.
The opening of the upcoming spin-off features a short yet exciting TV Texas tango sequence featuring Jordan and Osment. One of the executive producers Steven Molaro claimed that “Rockiness is baked into the title for ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.’” He added that it only lasts for 26 seconds but has a “playfulness to the tango give-and-take and the fiery, romantic nature.”
But these 26 seconds were a trial by fire for Montana Jordan, who stated that he did not know anything about Latin dance. It took him 5 rehearsal days and Dancing With the Stars instructors to execute the sequence.

As Montana Jordan was finally able to complete the challenge, another producer Steve Holland praised the actor stating that they threw multiple challenges at him to know about something he could not do. However, similar to his on-screen character, Montana Jordan aced everything with a smile.
Filming First Marriage was a new experience for Montana Jordan
It cannot be denied that the release of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is coming too soon after the conclusion of Young Sheldon. To differentiate between both the spin-offs, Chuck Lorre devised a unique strategy of going back to his roots and shooting the show in a multi-camera setup before a live audience.
Coming from a single-camera setup in Young Sheldon, the upcoming show was a new challenge for Montana Jordan. He admitted in an interview with TooFab that some challenge was expected, but he did not anticipate the experience of filming before 180 people to be so “nerve-wracking“.
It’s electric, I mean it really is. Coming into this everybody was saying how electric it is and I was like, ‘It can’t be that electric,’ but no it is. It’s pretty great when you’re sitting there, standing there and there’s a 180 people right there in the audience just looking at you. It’s a little nerve-wracking, but I don’t get nervous much … I’m pretty good at blocking them out and I just do my job.
Previously, Chuck Lorre delivered numerous hits with the multi-camera setup including The Big Bang Theory. While Young Sheldon was a new experience for him, multi-cam is his forte. Nevertheless, it will be exciting to see if Montana Jordan and Emily Osment are capable enough to carry an entire show. Besides them and various new additions, the show is also set to feature several Young Sheldon characters.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is set to premiere on October 17, 2024, on CBS.
