Caleb’s (William Ash) marriage with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) is on the rocks in Emmerdale after she discovered he’d deceived her.
These two have been at breaking point on more than one occasion, so it wouldn’t surprise us if they’re best friends again tomorrow.
As viewers have seen, Ruby has been somewhat conflicted with emotion since the death of her estranged mother, unaware that she’d tried to reach out in her dying days.
Helen had kicked her out many years ago after disapproving of her relationship with Caleb, and left her to fend for herself. However, she can’t help but feel regret at being unable to make amends – or at least have some closure.
We recently saw Caleb manage to get in touch with Helen, promising her that he’d put her in touch with his wife if she coughed up £100k.

The money was transferred, but Helen passed before he could alert Ruby to what was going on – and he stayed quiet.
In tonight’s episode, Ruby received a surprise delivery… it was her mum’s ashes.
She was in utter disbelief at what she was meant to do with them, and made an impulsive decision to bin them instead.
Classic Ruby.
Heading to the pub to drown her sorrows, she noticed Chas (Lucy Pargeter) mourning the loss of Zak, and pondered whether she should take action and get answers about Helen’s final days.
Chas encouraged her to head to the hospital, and there, Ruby approached a nurse who cared for her mum.
She explained that Caleb had visited Helen, identifying him by his appearance and vaguely remembering his name.
Ruby was utterly furious that her husband should betray her in this way, and rushed home to speak with him. Gritting her teeth, she tried to see whether Caleb would admit the deception himself.

However, this wasn’t the case. She had to admit what she’d learnt, and he tried to worm his way out of it by saying he was protecting her.
There is some truth in this, but he hasn’t yet confessed the cash!
Filled with rage, Ruby told Caleb to leave and said this was the last straw – she is done with him.
Is this the end of the couple?
