Leaked Release Date For Alan Wake 2: The Lake House Leaves Gamers With Just A Week To Finish Silent Hill 2 Remake

Fans of Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 have waited for the release of The Lake House DLC. And according to a new leak, the time is almost here. According to listings on New Zealand and Australian retailer sites, The Lake House DLC is set to release on October 22, 2024.

With the Silent Hill 2 remake launching just a few days earlier, fans of survival horror are racing against time to wrap up one horror experience before starting another. The upcoming DLC will build on the original game and potentially even be related to Control.

Alan Wake 2‘s Next DLC Might Come Out In Under a Week

The leak was first spotted on the EB Games website by PlotPointsYT who shared it on X (formerly Twitter). The listing on EB Games says that The Lake House DLC would unlock at midnight on October 22.

This matches with previous announcements at the September 2024 State of Play event, where The Lake House was revealed as the second expansion for Alan Wake 2.

Remedy has yet to make an official statement about the exact date, leaving room for some uncertainty as we await confirmation. But with the date being less than a week away, we might also not get a date at all.

The Lake House DLC follows the release of Night Springs, the first expansion for Alan Wake 2, which was received well by fans. Set in the eerie research facility by Cauldron Lake, the DLC will introduce players to Kiran Estevez, an agent of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), whose mission is to uncover the horrors within the facility.

The Lake House DLC marks the end of Alan Wake 2 content, and Remedy has kept much of the expansion shrouded in mystery. Fans have been speculating whether the DLC would be released as a surprise drop closer to Halloween, similar to how Night Springs was revealed and released simultaneously earlier in the year.

The DLC Could Setup Upcoming Remedy Projects

Remedy’s approach to marketing The Lake House has been unconventional, with little promotion leading up to its release. However, this secrecy fits well within the eerie atmosphere of the Alan Wake universe.

With Control 2 already in development, The Lake House could serve as a bridge between the two games, possibly setting up future plotlines that will carry over into the sequel. This type of cross-game storytelling is a rarity in the industry, and fans are eager to see how Remedy does it.

Gamers are eagerly awaiting more details, which are expected to be revealed at the Xbox Partner Showcase on October 17, 2024. This event might provide an official confirmation of the leaked release date and additional insights into the DLC’s content and gameplay.

So if you’ve been playing the Silent Hill 2 remake then you might want to hurry up and finish it. Or if you already have finished it then you have something else to look forward to already.
