Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – Why Yajirobe Deserves a Spot on Your Team

With the entire Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero roster at your fingertips, you may be a bit overwhelmed with who to choose for your first fight. After all, the first game in the revival of the Tenkaichi series deserves a flashy first showdown, doesn’t it?

Many will flock to series icons such as Gogeta, Kid Buu, Ultimate Gohan, and Beerus. However, there are a host of characters from the original Dragon Ball series that have been slowly pushed out of the limelight. Spike Chunsoft didn’t take too kindly to this treatment and has made Yajirobe one of the most broken characters in the game!

What Makes Yajirobe So Good in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero?

The most broken character in the game can’t even fly!

Yajirobe’s skill in pulling out a Senzu Bean in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero mid-battle enables him to heal and continue the fight, even against opponents far above him in power level.

In the anime, both Yajirobe and Korin are known as the Z fighters’ main source of these magical revival beans, and they have been used extensively in the series to bring characters back even from the brink of death.

The nickname “Bean Daddy” may have begun as a parody, but the internet quickly adopted the title for the character. It seems Spike Chunsoft wanted to make that title Yajirobe’s entire identity in the game and have set up his moves and skills in such a manner.

Some may not have chosen this character from among the many you can pick when they first got their hands on the game, and with good reason.

Yajirobe is a character who doesn’t have super flashy moves and is barely able to fly either. However, online he is a completely different beast, and this is due to several reasons. The first, and most important reason, is his Senzu Bean ability. While it does consume all 5 of your Skill Points, it’s an invaluable tool that will help you regain the health you lost during the fight.

Tip
It can take a while for you to acquire all 5 Skill Points, but you can always block some attacks and take chip damage that will be healed by the Bean.

With the right defensive strategy, some players have reported taking out entire teams, including those with powerful fusion characters with this fighter! His low DP cost of just 2 points could make him an easy and invaluable addition to your team.

People have already started to talk about how he needs to be nerfed soon, and while that may happen in a future update, he is currently one of the reigning champions of the Sparking Zero online meta.

How Else Can You Use Skill Points in Sparking Zero?

A Senzu Bean can be the difference between victory and defeat.

If the defensive strategy is not for you, or you don’t want to have Yajirobe on your team, you can free up your Skill Points for more aggressive uses. DP Battles typically have you choosing a team, and, with the right character variants, you can fuse two characters to create a more powerful third with an entirely new set of attacks.

Doing so requires Skill Points, and the more powerful the character, the higher the cost. Keep in mind that you will need the right variants of the characters to make the fusion, so Goku (End) won’t be able to fuse with Vegeta from the Saiyan Saga.

Tip
Fusing will give you a health boost mid-battle and can sometimes push your health counter far higher than if you chose the fused variant during character selection.

Skill Points can also transform your character into more powerful forms. While this will not boost your health, you will do more damage and be able to use entirely new attacks. Choosing base-form characters also costs less DP than choosing the transformed versions, so you can better allocate your budget.

Finally, you can use your Skill Points to nullify or deflect incoming beams and blasts for 2 Skill Points. Enter Super Perception mode as the attack reaches you, and you will nullify it if you’re on the ground or swat it away if you’re airborne. If you attempt this attack without the required Skill Point amount, you will take all the damage from the attack.

We suggest trying out Yajirobe a few times in Online Battles, even just as an experiment. But we’d love to know your favorite characters and how you build your team.
