Where Can You Find Cleanrot Knight?

Finding the boss area is probably the easiest part of this guide on how to defeat Cleanrot Knights. That being said, it can still get a little confusing, especially once you enter the location they’re in.

You need to get to the Abandoned Cave, whose entrance is located in Caelid, northwest of the Sellia Evergaol. From the Smoldering Wall Site of Grace, face the East side of the map and ride Torrent straight ahead till you reach the edge of the canyon. You should see the entrance to the cave on the other side, below the surface.

Look around for some giant Tree roots that act as a path for you to walk across to get to the entrance. When you get to the other side, you might want to carry a Torch or activate a Lantern as it’s quite dark inside.

Once you enter and activate the Site of Grace, the path to the Cleanrot Knight boss fight is straightforward but a bit of a struggle. You need to jump down, move toward the decommissioned Abductor Virgin, and take a left.

Proceed till you see another drop, and go as far right as you can before dropping down and entering the hole in front of you. Keep going straight, past the rats and the ledge you jump up on. Enter another hole and follow the path curving right.

When you exit into an open space, stick to the right side of the room, going up the slope and through the entrance in front of you. At the end of this path is the Cleanrot Knight boss.

How to Prepare to Fight Cleanrot Knight?

If you haven’t noticed by now, the theme of this entire area in Elden Ring is Rot, which aligns with the lore behind the Cleanrot Knights. Just like how there are pools of Rot throughout the cave, the area you have to fight the Knights also has them.

For this reason, having some Rot-resistant armor is beneficial. Equipping incantations that can heal you and cure your Scarlet Rot is also great for this boss.

You only have a limited number of healing flasks, so mix a Wondrous Physick that will boost your heals. Since they’re weak to Fire, spells that deal Fire damage will let you damage them from a distance.

Keeping a light or medium loadout will ensure you can reliably dodge out of their attacks. It’s especially important for this duo as their weapons can shoot up your Scarlet Rot meter.
