Silent Hill 2 Remake: How To Locate White Chrism

The world of Silent Hill 2 Remake has pulled players in once again, and Bloober Team has knocked it out of the park with this project! Critical and player acclaim is at an all-time high for the title, and many are revisiting the familiar streets and haunts that introduced them to horror gaming back in 2001.

As with the original release, the remake features several endings that depend on player action. This requires the player to complete the game several times before they can experience all the endings, and the White Chrism is an essential ingredient to unlocking one of these endings.

Where To Find White Chrism in Silent Hill 2 Remake?

Make your way to Baldwin’s Mansion located on Munson Street.

The White Chrism is an item specific to New Game+ and can be found in West South Vale. With the item only being available during a replay of Silent Hill 2 Remake, players would have already visited many of these locations beforehand. The White Chrism is an essential item if James Sunderland wishes to unlock the ‘Rebirth’ ending when completing the New Game+ playthrough.

While players may be meticulously searching through the levels to find the White Chrism, they can rest assured that the moment they need to be looking out for is when they meet Maria for the first time. Right after this meeting, you will reach West South Vale after walking through Jack’s Inn. You will now have to make your way to Munson Street until you arrive in front of Baldwin Mansion.

First, you must get the Gate Key and unlock that pathway to reach this area. The Gate Key can be found in Jack’s Inn, hidden in the Safe which requires a specific combination. The clue for the combination is in the Toolbox, reading “No money four the fifth onesie.” Deciphering this riddle results in the code being 0451. Once you have the key, you can unlock the Gate and walk into the yard of Baldwin’s Mansion.

The White Chrism will be waiting for you on the little round table on the porch. Maria won’t enter this location with you when you walk in, but since there’s nothing else to do here, you can turn around and leave.

How to Use the White Chrism for a Unique Ending in Silent Hill 2 Remake?

The collectible can be found atop this table.

The White Chrism is one of the four items required to unlock the ‘Rebirth’ ending. The other items needed for this ending are the Crimson Ceremony, Obsidian Goblet, and Lost Memories.

You can find the Crimson Ceremony at the start of your New Game+ journey beside the grave near the water in the Graveyard. This is also where you meet Angela for the first time in the game. With this being a replay of the game, you could also challenge yourself to get the ‘As Close As You Like’ Trophy along with the ‘Rebirth’ trophy.

Tip
Utilizing the option to create multiple save files can reduce the number of playthroughs you need to unlock every ending.

The Obsidian Goblet can be found in a corner of the Historical Society in West Side South Vale and this requires the Historical Society Key found in Rosewood Park. Lost Memories can be collected from a shelf in the Lost and Found room in the Lakeview Hotel on the first floor. You can reach this room by breaking the wall in Cafe Toluca.

Once you have these four items in your inventory, you will get the ‘Rebirth’ ending, as long as you don’t activate the Dog, UFO, Bliss, or Stillness ending requirements beforehand. Each of these endings also has a specific Trophy attached to them, so make sure to collect all the other required items found in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
