Theory: ‘Blade’ is Indefinitely Delayed as Kevin Feige Wants Mahershala Ali to Lead MCU’s Upcoming Superhero Team-up Movie

So… we guess Marvel’s Blade is not happening anytime soon. Disney recently put the production of the Mahershala Ali movie on an indefinite hold and people do not know why, but it seems that this could be a genius move for Kevin Feige!

It may come as a shock to several fans that the movie is put on hold but there might be a silver lining to this cloud as well! Mahershala Ali could very well lead a team of supernatural superheroes very soon in Marvel’s Midnight Sons!

Every story has two sides. Every force has an equal and opposite reaction. We don’t know how Newton’s law applies here but it works. The indefinite hold of Marvel’s Blade could turn out to be a great decision for the MCU.

From quarrels to talks of money, there are various theories, rumors, and speculations as to why the Mahershala Ali film was put on hold. Although we cannot say the exact reason, what we can do is talk about what could happen next.

It seems that now would be a good time for Ali to lead a team of supernatural superheroes in the alleged upcoming MCU film Midnight Sons. The film, which will be based on the comics, will boast a team of superheroes that include Ghost Rider/Riders, Blade, and Morbius.

We have already gotten three movies about these three characters in the past. What’s stopping Marvel from teaming them up and giving us Midnight Sons? Top of our head, nothing. This theory is certainly not without circumstantial evidence as there are talks of a new Ghost Rider in town.

The New Ghost Rider of the MCU

It was some months ago when talks of a new Ghost Rider joining the MCU were all over the internet. There had been several rumors and campaigns about which actor would suit the role the most.

When a rumor broke out that Death Stranding star Norman Reedus was chosen as the new Ghost Rider, fans went into a frenzy. Although it wasn’t confirmed, the actor had his own way of campaigning for the part.

Reedus took to his social media accounts and liked several posts of concept art featuring himself as Ghost Rider. He even took to X and shared a concept art that fans loved.

There were also talks that Keanu Reeves was also going to helm the project but the rumors were never confirmed. With the possibility that Kevin Feige wants Mahershala Ali to lead Marvel’s Midnight Sons, we could very well see a new Ghost Rider in town soon.

As convincing and brilliant as this theory sounds, it remains in the end, just a theory. There is no way to confirm (or deny) the rumors. All we can say for certain is that the indefinite hold on Mahershala Ali’s Blade might not be a bad thing at all!
