“The hate b*ner for Boruto is ridiculous”: Forget One Piece, Naruto Fans are the Single Greatest Reason For Boruto’s Downfall

Getting hate in the anime industry is not a new thing, as fans would not shy away from expressing their detest, especially when the anime adaptation is not up to the mark. From One Piece to Dragon Ball Super, no one is safe from constant criticism.

The toxic fans are on the rise, where Boruto: Naruto Next Generations was met with unmatched hate after it failed to live up to the expectations of the original series. The relentless criticism following the original show was unjust, putting it under a ton of pressure. Hence, creating a void that followed the conclusion of Shippuden.

Though the manga was well-received, the same fans do not consider the spin-off to be a worthy successor of the show that was once part of The Big Three.

Naruto Fans Scorned Boruto From The Very First Day

Masashi Kishimoto’s Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has acted as the sequel to Naruto. Initially, the project was met with great excitement as the fans of the OG show were under the impression that their favorite characters were going to return to action.

However, they were mistaken because the adaptation featured a new line-up of next-generation ninjas; this included Boruto Uzumaki, son of Naruto Uzumaki. This swiftly sent a wave of discontent among the fans because the new-gen tarnished his dad’s reputation during the Chunin Exams.

The Nine-Tails Jinchuriki had a depressing childhood where he had to live on his own and survive just by eating cup noodles, that too in a village where everyone hated him. Gradually, he went on to make the people of Konohagakure acknowledge and treat him as their messiah.

The Pain Arc was the changing point in his life, where he single-handedly defeated the Akatsuki member and avenged Jiraiya-Sensei, coming one step closer to becoming the Hokage.

On the other hand, his son acts too entitled, and he does not live the same struggles as his father. Additionally, the newer generation did not have to witness hardships like wars and bloodshed. Rather, they were living in a much more peaceful environment.

As a result, the fans never backed away from harshly criticizing the series. However, the opinion of the Naruto fans has made the Otaku community believe that this series has the most absurd fanbase, which would contradict their own beliefs.

The Otaku Community Reacts to Naruto Fans Destroying Boruto

It has been said previously that in the anime community, even the greats like Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece have been criticized for having an extraordinarily long storyline. However, the mangaka knew how to make the community fall in love with the show.

However, such was not the case with Boruto because it was hated for not meeting their opinions. This notion was proved when a user shared a screenshot on Reddit, where Naruto fans can’t follow their own opinion. Hence, community members commented,

Nevertheless, the community has changed their opinion of the title as they are now eagerly waiting for the sequel spinoff to return as it has been on a long break.

Naruto and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
