A German pizzeria is out of business after they were caught dealing cocaine with one of their bestselling pizzas.

The Düsseldorf-based restaurant delivered their bestselling ‘pizza no.40’ with bags of cocaine until police busted them.

German police arrested the eatery’s manager, a 36-year-old, who threw a bag of drugs out of the window as police came to his home.

The bag ‘fell right into’ the officer’s hands.

But just days after being discharged from police custody, the same man began offering the pizza order again, leading to the arrest of 15 others involved in the illicit trade.

Nearly four pounds of cocaine, 14oz of cannabis and £223,449 was seized by police, DW reported.

Chief Inspector Michael Graf von Moltke said officers had been monitoring the pizzeria since earlier this year, when food inspectors found drugs in the kitchen.

Von Moltke said: ‘It was one of the most-sold pizzas. That was new to us and surprised us because the owner had never been accused of drug crimes.’

Ironically, the pizzeria’s slogan was ‘We deliver everything home to you’ – including cocaine, apparently.

In 2018, it was revealed cocaine was delivered faster than a pizza across England and Scotland.

More than a third of a thousand cocaine users surveyed in England and more than 500 in Scotland said they could get the drug delivered within half an hour.

Some 36.8% of people surveyed in England said they could get cocaine within 30 minutes, and 37.4% in Scotland, placing them fifth and sixth in the world rankings.

This compares with 12.2% of people in England and 19.8% in Scotland who said they could get a pizza delivered in this time.

Across the world, 30.3% of 15,000 cocaine users questioned for the 2018 Global Drug Survey said they would be able to get their hands on the drug within half an hour.

This is compared with 16.5% who said they could get a pizza delivered in that time.
