“Part 1 was literally just build up”: Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 Trailer Shows How Netflix Butchered One of the Greatest Shows on Earth for Money

6 years after its inception, Cobra Kai is all set to come to an end, with the sixth season marking the end of the story of the rivalry between the dojos, Miyagi do-dojo and Cobra Kai. And fans are not completely satisfied with what is to come.

With the release of the trailer for the 2nd part of Cobra Kai’s Season 6, fans have been given a glimpse of what is to come in the final season of the show. And it is safe to say that it has somewhat rained on the fans’ parade.

One last rodeo for Cobra Kai

Set decades after the legendary 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, Cobra Kai revolved around a reignited rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, and their newly created dojos, Cobra Kai and Miyagi do-dojo.

Debuting on YouTube Premium in 2018, the William Zabka starrer series explored the dynamics that made our favorite characters the lovable people they are. While the rivalry between Daniel and Johnny has made way for an unexpected (and somewhat awkward) friendship.

As we head into the final season, things seemed to be heating up for the upcoming Sekai Taikai tournament, with the combined strength of both their dojos facing off against Terry Silver’s Cobra Kai.

While executive producer Hayden Schlossberg has revealed that the friendship between the duo can be better categorized as a ‘bad marriage’ (to be expected from lifelong rivals). But the last season is about so much more than that. And fans believe that Netflix has wasted it all.

Fans are beginning to lose their interest with the multiple part shenanigans

The pacing of Cobra Kai Season 6 has upset some fans || YouTube

When it was announced that Season 6 would be the last of Cobra Kai, fans set their expectations high. After all, with Johnny and Daniel combining their forces for propelling Miyaga do-dojo to the top of Sekai Taikai tournament, we were all set to have one hell of a conclusion to a long saga of the Ralph Macchio starrer.

No wonder fans were all in for seeing how it would turn out in the end. But Netflix’s decision to divide the final season into three 5-episode parts seems to not have caught on fans’ fancy, eliciting some sharp responses.

One of the primary criticisms levelled is the fact that it is seemingly dragging things out, going to slow with the build-up.

The fact that the first part failed to grasp fans’ interests doesn’t bode well for Netflix, as they get ready for the second part, which sees most of the action finally go down.

With each part being a story in itself, it remains to be seen whether the show is able to do justice to the tournament, which is a pivotal part in the arc. For some fans, while the last season might be testing their patience, the upcoming Karate Kid: Legends gives the perfect chance to have the goodbye they were looking forward to for their favorite story.

Season 6 Part 2 will be available on Netflix from 15 November.
