6 days agoSouth TvComments Off on Home Depot is selling ‘easy-to-build’ tiny home kit for $29,997 – it’s delivered right to you door & no permit is needed
DIY fans are racing to Home Depot, to pick up an entire home for just $29,997.
With house prices on the rise, many are opting to ditch their expensive rental properties, and move into their own tiny homes instead.
The tiny home is delivered straight to your door[/caption]
It comes with a 30 year guarantee[/caption]
The tiny house is delivered straight to your door, and can easily be assembled yourself.
It is perfect for use as an AirBnb, or as a permanent residence, situated at the bottom of a parent or friend’s garden.
When assembled, it has space for a bedroom, a bathroom, and even a kitchen, proving that you don’t need a huge space to create your dream home.
The structure is all American made and the steel frames are made to be resilient against weather and seismic conditions.
It is also resistant to termites, mould, rot and warnings.
The house even comes with a 50 year warranty, so you can be guaranteed that the home will be around for a long time.
The kit comes with a steel frame, but you will have to add the doors and any appliances yourself.
This means that you can customise the home however you wish, to give it a unique and homely feel.
All kits are made to order and are customised to meet your local building codes.
What is a tiny home?
Technically, a tiny home is any house measuring under 400 square feet.
Many tiny homes are built on trailers so they can be towed anywhere, and some are converted from old school buses or vans.
Each state has its own rules about tiny homes, but, generally, they are not subject to the same taxes as regular homes.
However, Alaska, Iowa, Louisiana, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, and West Virginia have made tiny homes illegal as permanent dwellings.
The tiny home will arrive in just 6-8 weeks, and in some states, you don’t even need a permit to have it in your garden.
You can pay for the product all at once, or, if you don’t have the funds, can pay $5,000 a month for six months.
A description on the Home Depot website reads: “A fast easy to build steel frame offer 144 square foot of versatile living space.”
“Ideal as a main residence, AirBnb or guest house.”

A video on social media shows Jaime crunching his forehands and frantically scampering across the back of the court – in movement eerily similar to his champion brother.
So it is no wonder there is so much excitement about the latest Alcaraz child prodigy.
One fan said: “It looks like he’s going to be very very good. I guess it runs in the family.”
Another wrote: “Great footwork and the determination to chase everything. Impressive.”
Tennis stars following in parents' footsteps
TALK about pressure…
These rising stars are all making their way in tennis.
But they have got something in common – they’ve got a famous parent who also made their name in the sport.
So who are the players hoping to follow in the footsteps of their tennis mums and dads?
My dad is one of the greatest tennis players ever… but he’s not my idol
A fourth joked: “Jaime Alcaraz plays tennis like this at 13 years old and he looks more like his brother Carlitos than Carlos Alcaraz himself — leave something for the rest of the world, crazy.”
And a final user simply typed: “Wow.”
Jaime secured a significant win on the Rafa Nadal Tour in Madrid last year, coming through a 48-player draw in the Under-12s category.
Incredibly, in an amazing twist of fate, brother Carlos won the exact same event seven years earlier.
So, Wimbledon titles in 2030 and 2031 for Jaime Alcaraz, maybe?

Wimbledon ditching line judges a double fault for British tennis
THE absence of line judges at Wimbledon will be a sad sight.
For as long as I can remember, the men and women decked out in their Ralph Lauren outfits have been part of the furniture at the All England Club.
Yes, they provided some mild entertainment on the court when one would call “fault” with plenty of extra, and unnecessary, gusto and volume that boomed around Centre Court, prompting a snigger from the fans.
Then there was the ongoing game of dodgeball they had to play when a big serve nailed a mammoth ace down the line and they had to take rapid evasive action or take a whack to the top of the head.
And challenges provided some audience participation, excitedly joining in the clapping countdown before the inevitable “oooh” when the graphic showed just how close the ball was to landing in or out.
Purely objectively, Wimbledon’s decision to replace line judges with Hawk-Eye Live makes total sense.
The accuracy and consistency of calls in real-time will speed things up, save time and should mark the end of arguments over the tight incorrect calls – well, until the technology malfunctions.
And Wimbledon’s hand was somewhat forced to ditch tradition for their standing in tennis.
The Australian Open and US Open already use electronic line calling and the ATP Tour is adopting Hawk-Eye Live across all of its tournaments from 2025.
Wimbledon’s refusal to comply would leave them lagging behind and exposed to the threat of needless controversy over human error.
But the impact – as is so often the case in these decisions – has ramifications further down, below the surface with very little impact on Wimbledon’s Championships or the players.
It is on the line judges themselves.
Approximately 300 officials – aged from 18 to 80 – covered more than 650 matches at Wimbledon.
A fraction travel internationally with the circuit but the vast majority of those are part-time line judges based in the UK, earning up to £180 per day to work at the prestigious tournament and their chance to play their part at Wimbledon.
For many, they will help out at British tournaments throughout the year, spurred on by the possibility of taking to the lawns of the All England Club.
But it is understood many of those officials would be reluctant to work at the lower-level tournaments without the carrot of Wimbledon dangling in the summer.
That in turn will put a major stumbling block in the pathway for British tennis umpires, who grind up through the ranks to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
Like football with referees, tennis needs umpires and line judges.
So the inability to call “out” at Wimbledon could prove to be a major “fault” for the future of the UK’s tennis officials and therefore the state of the sport on these shores.
Jennifer Aniston has one of the most enviable physiques in Hollywood[/caption]
She sticks to a strict regime to stay in such great shape[/caption]
The 55-year-old credits a variety of workouts and eating well for keeping her fighting fit[/caption]
Well, according to the film and TV star herself, it’s all thanks to low-impact workouts, staying hydrated, and eating very little sugar.
She’s also a fan of the 16:8 Diet, which involves limiting your food intake to just eight hours a day.
The 55-year-old showed off the results of such a strict regime in a photoshoot to promote the brand Pvolve.
Incredible photos showcase her slim legs, cinched waist and muscular arms.
In an interview with CR Fashion Book last year, Jen said: “I drink a lot of water, move my body daily, try to eat whole, fresh foods, and get as much sleep as I can.”
She has also previously spoken about her love of boxing, how she prioritises rest, and the fact she can squeeze an hour-long workout into just 20 minutes.
Here, we take a look at Jen’s diet, exercise routine, and general lifestyle which helps to keep her in tip-top shape.
Stay regular but don’t slog
Whether she’s hiking outdoors, lifting heavy weights in the gym, or holding a half-moon pose during a yoga class, Jennifer likes to stay active.
The most important thing? Getting at least four solid workouts in every week, as well as a day of walking.
But the sessions don’t all need to be hours and hours long. In fact, the Friends legend thinks short bursts can be even more effective.
“I can do 20 minutes and get as good of a workout as if I work for an entire hour,” she told Women’s Health.
“I’ve stopped doing 45 minutes to an hour of just constant cardio, running, and boot camp because my knees can’t take it anymore, and it’s just not efficient.”
Speaking to British Vogue, she added: “Not only do you stress your body, you burn out – who wants to do that at all?”
So what kinds of sessions does Jen go for?
Variety is the spice of life
Unlike many fitness fanatics, the actress doesn’t subscribe to the idea you should focus on different body parts on specific days.
Instead, she wants a head-to-toe workout every time.
“I rarely walk in and think, ‘I’m just going to hit the abstoday’; I really would like to get a full-body workout every time,” she said.
According to Jen, a combination of Pilates, yoga, barre, boxing, hiking, and a relatively new concept called Pvolve achieve this.
“I always like to mix things up because it keeps things very interesting,” she said.
Pvolve fuses low-impact functional fitness (think pushing, pulling and squatting) with resistance-based equipment (like bands and gliders).
“It’s exercise that mimics everyday movement and works with the body’s biomechanics,” the website adds.
“By training muscles to work together, it can sculpt, strengthen, and restore.”
Jen, who has starred in Murder Mystery, Horrible Bosses, Marley & Me, and The Morning Show, told journalist Natalie Shukur: “I love it so much.
“I leave every workout feeling energised and strong, but not beat up.
“I look forward to the challenging classes and I feel stronger and more comfortable in my body when I’m doing it.
“It’s different every time, I don’t think I’ve had the same class twice.”
The actress is a big fan of a low-impact style of exercise called Pvolve[/caption]
Jen also loves yoga, boxing and hiking[/caption]
Move with purpose
With regards to specific moves, Jen is a fan of pounding a punchbag, the elliptical machine, and balancing poses.
Her yoga instructor Mandy Ingber revealed she loves tree, half-moon and warrior III, and is also great at holding a plank.
After doing these regularly, Jen said: “I noticed many things – my legs getting leaner, my arms getting stronger and most importantly, I noticed an inner strength.”
Speaking to InStyle about boxing, she added: “There’s something about the mental aspect of the drills.
“It’s a great way to get aggression out.”
And on the elliptical, she raises the incline then alternates between two minutes of running and one minute of walking for 20 minutes straight.
With pals and good tunes
But she doesn’t do it alone.
Speaking to InStyle, the star said: “I much prefer working out with friends.
“Doing your own workout by yourself, meh.
“If you get some good music going you can have fun, but I like to be guided.
“It’s too easy for me to do things less correctly than I should.”
To keep her motivated, she listens to upbeat pop and hip hop.
“It’s hard for me to choose favourites,” she added. “There are so many.
“I’m really into Lizzo right now, I love Rihanna, of course, and I love old-school ’90s hip-hop.”
Eat well, at the correct time
Jen has tested many diets, including eating five small meals a day and 16:8 intermittent fasting, meaning she eats during an eight-hour window and sticks to just water, black coffee, juice, and herbal teas the rest of the time.
But she tries to be flexible. Her morning routine now looks a little something like this:
9am: wake up
9.15am: green juice or warm lemon water
9.30am: workout then coffee
10am: high-protein breakfast (e.g. avocado and eggs)
For the rest of the day, she focuses on non-processed foods, cutting down on sugar, and plenty of healthy fats.
That means lunch and dinner is usually “some form of vegetables or salad with protein”.
For snacks, she can be found munching on an apple and almond butter, frozen yoghurt, popcorn, a protein bar, or a handful of nuts, according to ELLE and PEOPLE.
Yogi Mandy said during an interview: “A healthy fit body, like Jennifer Aniston’s, or even like mine, is based on healthy choices which are absolutely attainable – a wholesome diet with low sugar and minimal processed food.”
While another one of Jen’s trainers, Leyon Azubuike, told Women’s Health: “I love avocados, coconut oil, salmon, fish oil. Anything that’s a good form of fat is great.”
Jen lets go at the weekend though, enjoying pasta, a burger, pizza or something else “extra special” as a treat.
The Friends star exercises four to five times a week[/caption]
Jen takes a collagen supplement, usually in a smoothie or in her coffee[/caption]
The right kind of additives
While Jen steers clear of foods with too many ingredients, she does love a supplement.
She takes collagen from the brand Vital Proteins every day, usually in her morning coffee and smoothie.
Her go-to recipe is the following, whizzed up in a blender:
1 cup of chocolate almond milk
2 scoops of Vital Proteins Chocolate Collagen Peptides
a handful of banana and cherries
a few drops of Stevia
antioxidants
1 cup of ice
spinach
a pinch of cinnamon
matcha powder
a spoonful of almond butter
Glug that H20
Unsurprisingly, as well as eating well, Jen drinks a lot of water.
“I usually drink so much that it’s comical,” she said.
Personal trainer Leyon said he urges his clients, including the Rachel Green actress, to ensure they are so hydrated that they never actually feel thirsty.
The rest is history
Last but certainly not least, Jen needs her beauty sleep.
She said that while getting enough is “challenging”, it’s “so important” – for both her physical and mental health.
“I feel it when I don’t get enough rest,” she added.
Jen prefers a 20-minute workout to an hour-long slog in the gym[/caption]
She snacks on protein bars, apples, nuts and popcorn[/caption]
Jennifer shows off her toned tummy in a campaign for Vital Proteins[/caption]
Whether it’s hiking, yoga or boxing, the film star likes to stay active[/caption]
The actress wants a ‘full body workout’ in every session[/caption]

YOUTUBER Yung Filly’s former collaborator Danny Aarons has spoken out about the embattled star’s rape case in Australia.
Aarons, a fellow Internet personality, told fans “I’m as shocked as you” in a video posted to social media.
Danny Aarons has spoken out about the rape charges Yung Filly is facing in Australia[/caption]
He said: “This whole situation I don’t know what I can… What do I do?
“I’m as shocked as you lot are, hand on my heart, I’m as shocked as you lot are.
“I found out the same time as you lot, probably later.”
The pair collaborated together on projects for Footasylum, one of several major brands to drop Filly as a client since news of his arrest broke.
Known best for his videos on FIFA gaming, Aarons added: “I’m just going to play FIFA man, let’s just chill.”
Filly, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested in Melbourne on suspicion of raping a woman at his hotel.
He had been performing at a nightclub before allegedly assaulting the woman, in her 20s.
Filly, 29, was moved to Perth after the arrest, where he now has to report to a police station daily after stumping up $100,000 AUD (£51,000) for bail.
The embattled rapper faces four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
“While I understand many of you want my reaction on it, as this is an ongoing court case I hope you guys understand that I can’t and won’t be commenting on it publicly, so yeah I’ve just come on here to basically let you know the reasons as to why I can’t. Love.”
And fellow creator AngryGinge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, said: “I’m not going to pretend nothing has happened. I’m going to be open and honest as I always am. Where do you start?
“Four o’clock in the morning I’m laying in bed, I see what’s going down on Twitter. First of all I’m the exact same as you. I’m shocked. Um, yeah. You know, mental. Mental.
“But he’s now obviously involved in legal proceedings and I can’t comment on legal proceedings. You know how it is. Mad.”
He wrote on Instagram: “Everyone please stop messaging me about what’s happened to Young Filly.
“He’s a grown man and he has to take responsibility for his own actions.
“I’ll be praying for man because Australian prison ain’t a joke – bare snakes and spiders and s***.
“I just hope this don’t backfire on his family.”
Who is Yung Filly?
YUNG Filly’s rise to fame saw him start out as a social media star.
The influencer got his big break on YouTube before moving into mainstream TV.
Although he goes by Yung Filly, his real name is Andres Felipé Barrientos.
He was born on August 6, 1995, and moved to the UK from Colombia when he was two years old.
Filly then relocated to southeast London during his childhood.
When asked what it was like growing up in the capital, he told Indy100: “I come from the bottom of the barrel…and that’s why I’m so grateful for the position I’m in now.
“My mum definitely shaped me with the lessons she taught me.
“She’s a single mum with three kids, my dad was a s*** dad so she just had to make it happen.
“She did loads of cleaning jobs. My mum worked at Poundland at the time I had some mad BBC series…just getting my mum out of the position she was in was just the biggest motivation.”
Filly is best known for being a member of the comedy group known as The Wall of Comedy.
He is affiliated with fellow YouTuber Chunkz and the pair have collaborated on many videos and tracks.
Over the years, Filly has also taken part in The Sidemen‘s Charity Football Match, organised by members Josh Bradley, Simon Minter, Tobi Brown, KSI, Ethan Payne, Vikram Barn and Harry Lewis.

6 days agoSouth TvComments Off on Apple Watch users stunned as device eerily predicts flu and Covid DAYS before symptoms start
WE usually rely on signs like a scratchy throat, headache or feeling tired to tell us that we’re getting ill.
But Apple Watch owners might have an additional trick up their sleeves – as the device can eerily predict whether users are at the brink of getting Covid or the flu days before symptoms actually start.
Apple Watch users have been left stunned by its ability to predict Covid and flu days before symptoms start[/caption]
A Reddit user claimed their Vitals app flagged they were getting ill three days before they came down with symptoms[/caption]
The app tracks health metrics like heart rate, sleep duration and wrist temperature and flags ‘outliers’[/caption]
It’s not the first time smartwatches have come in handy when it comes to health, as the devices have been hailed for spotting hidden conditions and deadly heart emergencies.
Adam Croft previously said his Apple watch saved his life by alerting him to a heart condition, after he dismissed symptoms like dizziness and heart flutters.
And mum Elaine Thompson claims she could have died if her watch hadn’t flashed a ‘red alert’ sign warning her of abnormal heart rhythm.
Now, Apple Watch owners have left stunned by its ability to detect a looming infection – based on only their temperature.
A new app named Vitals that’s available through the latest watchOS 11 software update is behind this handy feature.
The software collects key health metrics – such as your heart rate, respiratory rate, wrist temperature, blood oxygen, and sleep duration – during the night and provides a picture of your overall health.
By establishing a typical range for each of the above health metrics, it alerts you about anything that’s out of the ordinary.
Users will receive a notification about this, along with context on what could be driving it, like medications you’re taking or a possible illness.
Apple notes that Vitals app measurements aren’t intended for medical use.
But smartwatch owners have reported how the device has flagged potential health issues, like flu and Covid, after picking up subtle changes in their body.
One user took to Reddit to recount how “the Vitals app knew I was sick three days before I did”.
They shared a screenshot of their Vitals data, which showed that their wrist temperature had been higher than normal for three days.
The app notifies wearers when two or more of their metrics – heart rate, breathing rate or wrist temperature – change, sending a notification about “outliers”.
The user in question said they’d received notifications about their wrist temperature for two days and not had any symptoms, before coming down with the flu on the third day.
“Woke up today feeling off,” they wrote.
“Now as the evening is setting in, I am feeling that old familiar feeling in my head. I’m sick.”
Other Apple Watch owners chimed in in the comments to describe similar experiences using the Vitals app.
One user said: “I started using Vitals when it first came out on the beta and since then I’ve gotten sick about twice.
“Both times it knew a couple days in advance and I hadn’t felt anything wrong.
“Kinda insane how useful this feature can be.”
Another shared: “Oh boy, I just got the worst illness of my adult life, and my Apple Watch perfectly captured the whole experience.”
They added screenshots of their Vitals data to the thread.
Symptoms of Covid XEC
By Isabel Shaw, Health Reporter
We don’t know what the specific XEC symptoms are just yet.
So far, the signs aren’t too dissimilar from what we’ve seen with earlier strains.
The loss of taste and smell – once a hallmark sign of the bug – is only reported by two to three per cent of infected Brits, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
If you are suffering from Covid, prioritise rest and hydration while using over-the-counter medications like paracetamol to relieve symptoms.
The best way to protect yourself from Covid is to get vaccinated.
Jabs have been updated to tackle recent variants, though not specifically for XEC, which evolved from earlier Omicron strains.
The NHS is offering autumn Covid boosters to the most vulnerable in October. This includes:
Over-64s
People aged between six months and 64 years with health conditions that make them more vulnerable
People living in care homes for older people
Front-line health and social care staff, including in care homes for older people
The NHS will contact eligible patients directly, but they can also book their own appointments now via the NHS App, GPs, pharmacies, drop-in clinics, or by calling 119.
“The first image is a typical week, the second image was when I fought Covid back in late August (and that was nasty too), and the last image has been my past week.”
People also took to X – formerly Twitter to – to praise the new Apple Watch Feature.
User Rory Evans posted that his watch had “detected a few things with my vitals days before I tested positive for Covid”.
Apple stresses that the app can’t diagnose or treat medical conditions.
Instead, it should be used as a tool for users to gain a better understanding of their health.
Ahead of the app’s launch, Apple explained how it worked.
“When two or more metrics are out of their typical range, users can receive a notification, along with a message detailing how the changes in these specific metrics may be linked to other aspects of their life, such as elevation changes, alcohol consumption, or even illness,” it said.
If you want to give it a go yourself, open the Watch app on your iPhone or the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
Select General, followed by Software update and the watchOS 11 update should appear.
