Stalker 2 is the first FPS that made me actually understand the horrors of war

AS FPS players, we’ve gotten used to the luxury of battlegrounds full of chest-high walls you can dip behind to regenerate health.

Series like Call of Duty boast realism, but it’s hardly similar to war when you can recover from a bullet wound by having a little sit-down.

GSC Game World
Stalker 2 has supernatural elements and still feel closer to real war than most FPS games[/caption]

There are limits to how much realism gamers are willing to accept. No one wants a game over when they are shot a single time.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl feels like it’s the closest game to reality without frustrating its player base.

You can be taken out before you know what is happening if you go in like you would with a regular FPS.

Instead of healing over time, you’ll need to have the medical supply relevant to your current injury.

You are not only more vulnerable, but so are your weapons. They have durability, and can jam or stop working mid-battle.

Preparation is just as necessary as your skill in battle, as preparation will drastically reduce your chances of failure.

Ammo isn’t plentiful, and you won’t find munitions crates littered all over the map.

Instead, you will collect it from guns left by those defeated in battle. But it’s not only those shooting at you that you have to worry about.

There are anomalies and irradiated masses of land you will have to traverse in order to grab supplies, and they present their own challenges.

You have to be aware of the invisible threats around you at all times, and sprinting ahead is not recommended.

If you do need to retry a mission, you won’t be able to use your knowledge of enemy positions from your first try in your second attempt.

Their positions will shift, meaning that it is just as difficult as it was the first time you tried.

It emphasises a slow pace and forces the approach the developers want you to have to it. It’s oppressive but pulling it off is satisfying.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a fascinating open-world shooter, and presents a real-world challenge rather than a power fantasy.

Watch as paraglider spots a DOG at the top of 455ft-tall Great Pyramid of Giza – and no one knows how it got there

A PARAGLIDER has shared stunning footage showing a dog exploring the very top of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt.

The 455ft tomb is the largest of the pyramids and held the title of the world’s tallest human-built structure for approximately 4,000 years.

Now, Alex Lang, a tourist exploring the pyramids from the sky, has shared jaw-dropping footage on social media of the moment he spotted the dog.

The brave canine looked unbothered by the extreme height as it barked at birds on the top of one of the seven wonders of the world.

In the now-viral footage, Lang is seen soaring high above the pyramid as he films the awe-inspiring view below.

It is not until he zooms in incredibly close to the apex of the structure that the sand-coloured dog can be seen just to the right of it.

At one point the dog even appears to be poking its head over the side looking down at what is below.

While Lang knew he would see incredible sights on October 14 when he went paragliding above the largest of the Giza pyramids, he was not expecting to see any movement when he looked down.

According to the tourist, the dog had made the huge journey up the brickwork to bark at the birds flying above the pyramid.

The moment went viral on social media after adventure athlete Marshall Mosher shared it on Instagram.

“A dog climbed all the way up the Great Pyramid of Giza! Do you think he lives up there?” he asked followers.

In the comments shocked viewers joked about the pooch with one saying “None of his friends are gonna believe him.”

Another said that the dog’s “next hiking point is Everest.”

SIGN FROM THE AFTERLIFE?

While others questioned if the dog has since been rescued, others have suggested that he is the Egyptian god Anubis who has the head of a jackal.

“Not a dog. That is the Egyptian God Anubis,” one viewer claimed.

“He is considered the guide of the dead in the afterlife and the protector of the tombs. That’s why it is over the pyramid.”

“God Anubis chilling out,” another added.

In a follow-up video, Mosher took it upon himself to take to the skies to see if the “most famous pup” was still at the top.

“Today, during the @skyone.egy #paramotor event, I flew back up on my @airitalysrl motor to see if I could catch another glimpse of this ‘canine god’ guarding the afterlife (or just enjoying the best view in Egypt)!” he told followers.

However, once he was able to look at the apex of the Giza pyramid, the dog was gone which prompted the question, “Where do you think he went?”

According to the thrill-seeker, there are over 100 stray dogs in the Great Pyramids complex.

They have “lived here for thousands of years since the construction of the pyramids themselves,” he said in an Instagram story showing a picture of the dogs up close.

I’m Britain’s most tattooed mum – I have to HIDE on Halloween because kids think my ink is a scary costume

BRITAIN’S most tattooed mum admits she has to hide on Halloween because people think her ink is too scary.

Melissa Sloan, from Kidderminster, has over 800 tattoos across her body and entire face.

While she loves her body art, it often causes issues in her day-to-day life including for the upcoming spooky season.

The 47-year-old mum claims she is forced to “hide in the bushes” when she takes her seven children trick or treating – to not scare anyone.

Her own household also rarely gets any knocks on the front door as children are afraid of her looks.

“I don’t need a Halloween costume – my tattoos already scare the kids, enough as it is” Melissa said.

“They are creeped out by my appearance daily but I have to be extra cautious during the spooky season.

“It makes me upset that I can’t enjoy Halloween fully with my own children.

“I can’t join in trick or treating properly, for instance.

“Many of my neighbours are afraid to answer the door if I take my kids out.

“So I have to hide in the bushes or down the road.

“When I go with them to the door, people are just shocked and look at me – their stares are tiresome.

“As for my own house, when I open the door to give out sweets, kids sometimes run off.

“Others won’t even bother trick or treating at my place at all.”

Melissa is no stranger to having to hide away her face.

She has been banned from numerous venues and avoids food shopping because people won’t leave her alone.

The situation has escalated so much that she now wears make-up when outside to cover up her ink.

Melissa added: “It’s a shame people can’t just understand my facial art and not instantly become cautious.

“I’m forced to hide away and hide the real me.

“People should accept that my ink is a form of self-expression. I’m still me – Melissa.

“I just display my creativity on my skin to share it with the world, instead of keeping it under wraps,” she added.

Diddy gang-raped victim & threatened to give her ‘Glasgow smile’ after she accused him of Tupac murder, lawsuit claims

SEAN ‘Diddy’ Combs allegedly gang-raped a woman and threatened to give her a “Glasgow smile” after she questioned him about rapper Tupac’s murder, a lawsuit claims.

Ashley Parham is suing the disgraced musician for a horrific assault she claims happened in 2018 after she accused him of murdering Tupac.

World-famous rapper Tupac Shakur was shot dead in Las Vegas in September 1996 – an assassination that was never officially solved.

Former gang member Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis was charged with his murder last year – and claimed Diddy offered him $1million (£769,000) to kill Tupac.

Diddy, 54, has previously refuted any involvement in Tupac’s death – but the rapper’s brother Mopreme Shakur said he has “doubts” over his denial.

Parham first spoke to him on FaceTime via a mutual friend, and was told he would make her “pay” for comments about his involvement in Tupac’s death.

The suit goes on to claim that the mutual friend – Shane Pearce – invited her to his home in March 2018 where Diddy was waiting.

She says he told her “she thought she would never see him in person” and pointed a knife at her, threatening to cut her cheeks into a “Glasgow smile”, meaning a slash from ear to mouth.

Parham goes on to say Diddy’s assistant Kristina Khorram told him not to as they could sell her for sex instead – threatening to ship Parham overseas.

It then goes into graphic detail about the alleged assault claiming Diddy covered Parham in “oil or lubricant” and used a TV remote to violently rape her.

The suit claims Parham attempted to escape after the assault to Diddy’s surprise – as he thought he gave her “enough drugs to take out a horse”.

She also said he offered her money to say the sex was consensual and threatened her family when she said she would go to police.

The lawsuit goes on to say one of Diddy’s friends showed her a livestream of her own sister’s home.

A struggle then ensued between Parham, Diddy and another man who pulled a gun on him when he allegedly hinted at being behind Tupac’s death.

Diddy fled and Parham claims she went to neighbours for help, telling police she was “violently gang raped” by Diddy and his friends.

She claims a deputy told her several neighbours had called in noise complaints and that she should “find a way to get home”.

He reportedly “did not offer to take [Parham] home, nor did he call for emergency services including an ambulance, nor any offer to take [her] to the hospital, nor any offer to help [her] recover her clothes or effects”, the suit reads.

She went to a doctor days later, and a hospital three weeks on where she was given a rape kit and staff called the local Walnut Creek Police.

Parham claims her police report doesn’t name Diddy because she “believed she would be ignored… and/or would be further harmed by defendant Diddy if he discovered she named him to police”.

She also claims to have reported the crime to Orinda Police Department, “but again was too afraid to name Defendant Diddy as one of her assailants”.

Parham is suing for sexual assault and battery, abuse, false imprisonment and kidnapping, demanding a trial by jury.

She says none of the police she went to opened an investigation.

Diddy was arrested on September 16 in Manhattan by Homeland Security on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

He was charged on three federal counts with one alleging he forced his victims to take part in drug-fuelled sex parties he called “Freak Offs.”

Diddy is facing a slew of accusations including rape and sexual assault from some 120 alleged victims in different criminal and civil lawsuits that have been made following his arrest.

One filed by an unnamed John Doe on Monday accuses him of sexual assault when the alleged victim was only 16.

It describes the disgraced rapper as “a menace to society, women and children”.

Diddy is being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center and has been denied bail twice.

The Sun has reached out to Diddy’s legal team for comment.

A timeline of Diddy's downfall

BY Forest McFarland, Senior News Reporter

BEFORE Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest on Monday night, it had been highly speculated that the rap star would find himself in custody after he was repeatedly hit with disturbing accusations – and had two of his mansions raided by the feds.

His mounting legal troubles finally came to a head on September 17, when he was charged with three federal counts, including sex trafficking, for allegedly forcing victims to take part in drug-fueled sex parties he called “Freak Offs.”

Hours before his arrest, The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed the feds investigating Combs were secretly liaising with Tupac Shakur murder prosecutors on gangland activities.

The development also came after Combs was named 77 times in documents submitted by prosecutors in the Tupac murder case.

Aside from the Tupac probe, Combs was already facing a slew of lawsuits, including one he settled with his ex, Cassie Ventura, after she accused him of rape and abuse.

Disturbing hotel surveillance video from 2016 showed Combs chasing Cassie down and then punching, kicking, and beating her in a hallway.

Two months earlier, in March 2024, two of Combs’ mansions were raided by federal investigators, who seized three AR-15s, drugs, and 1,000 bottles of lube which were part of his “Freak Off” supplies.

In addition to his federal criminal charges, Combs also faces a handful of lawsuits with allegations of sexual assault, harassment, and sex trafficking dating back to the early 1990s.

Music producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones filed one suit in February 2024, claiming Combs forced him to hire sex workers and participate in sex acts while he worked on his latest album.

Combs has denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to the federal sex trafficking charges against him, but his battle is far from over.

He faces life in prison if he’s convicted on all counts.
