Donald Trump repeatedly compares himself to Ronald Reagan & is pressed on abortion views by all-women crowd at town hall

DONALD Trump has aligned his views on abortion to that of former President Ronald Reagan as the Republican presidential candidate spoke at an all-women town hall.

With less than three weeks left before Election Day, Trump and his team are pounding the campaign trail, looking to make strides in critical battleground states that will determine which candidate takes up residence in the White House in January.

On Tuesday, Trump was joined by Fox News Channel anchor Harris Faulkner at a town hall as he took questions from an all-female audience about issues besetting the nation, including abortion, immigration, and childcare.

The prerecorded town hall, which was held in Cumming, Georgia, about 40 miles north of Atlanta, premiered on Wednesday’s edition of The Faulkner Focus.

Trump, 78, compared his stance on abortion with that of Ronald Reagan but spoke loftily about the 40th president’s policies on family childcare.

The Republican presidential nominee said the issue of abortion has divided the country for over half a century but believes there are exceptions for why a woman could seek to terminate her pregnancy.

“For 52 years, the issue has torn our country apart,” Trump said when asked by a town hall attendee about why the US government is involved in women’s basic rights.

“Every legal scholar, the greats ones, every lawyer, but the Democrats, the Republicans, the liberals, and conservatives, they wanted it brought out of the federal government and brought back to the states for a vote of the people.

“And, like Ronald Reagan, I believe in the exceptions for rape, incest, life of the mother – I strongly believe, you know, you have to follow your heart.”

Trump continued, “Some people don’t. It’s a very small percentage, but you have to follow your heart.

“But you have the exceptions. But with what we were able to do is through really the courage of six Supreme Court justices, we were able to do this after years and years of turmoil.”

When a single mother of two asked Trump what realistic changes he would make to help struggling families with childcare if elected to a second term, the former president brought up the child tax law he signed in 2017.

“I have you the largest tax cuts in the history of our country,” he said before taking a dig at former President Reagan, “Okay, larger than the Reagan cuts. Larger.

“I understand exactly what you’re saying. We’re going to readjust things so that it’s fair to everybody, because it’s really not fair to everybody.

“But we have a lot, and we’re going to we’re going up higher, but we’re also going to readjust because you have to make some readjustments.

“It’s unfair to some people, and we’re not going to have that.”

Two-time Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl winner brutally cut from contract after making $25m in career earnings

A TWO-TIME winning Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl winner has been brutally cut from his contract.

The Buffalo Bills decided to release Marquez Valdes-Scantling on Monday evening.

It came just hours after they traded for fellow wide receiver Amari Cooper with the Cleveland Browns.

And according to NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport, that means the end of Valdes-Scantling in Buffalo.

He only signed with the team in the offseason as a free agent.

The 30-year-old has just two catches for 26 yards this year.

He made six appearances in the 2024-25 NFL campaign, but had little production.

And the addition of Cooper all-but ended any hope of him getting targets from quarterback Josh Allen.

Their other wideouts include Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman.

Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins complete the WRs on the roster.

Valdes-Scantling is now on the lookout for a new team in the NFL.

The former fifth-round pick started his career with the Green Bay Packers.

He played there from 2018 to 2021.

The veteran then spent the next two years with the Chiefs.

This is where he won back to back Super Bowl rings under head coach Andy Reid.

He has 188 career receptions for 2,181 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Valdes-Scantling has made nearly $25 million from contracts during his NFL career.

And there has now been talk he could be heading back to the Chiefs in a shock return.

They are in need of a wide receiver after Rashee Rice’s feared season-ending knee injury.

Cooper is a five-time Pro-Bowler, and will cost just $806,000 for his season-long contract.

He had reworked his deal with the Browns in the offseason to make a trade easier to complete.

In exchange for Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick, Cleveland got a 2025 third-round pick and 2026 seventh-rounder.

Late in the game, LSU player Mason Taylor found an opening in the Ole Miss defense and scored a game-winning touchdown.

As he fought for the end zone, Ole Miss defender Trey Washington attempted to push him out of bounds before he crossed the goal line.

Taylor did get in the end zone though, and one of the cheerleaders on the sideline appeared unhappy with the defender after the play.

TV cameras captured the moment when the male cheerleader shoved Washington in the back and taunted him as LSU celebrated.

The Ole Miss player paid no attention to the cheerleader, but fans got a good look at the incident.

College football viewers had mixed opinions about the incident and shared their thoughts on social media.

“Cheerleader assault!!!” one fan said.

“Officials missed a late hit on that Ole Miss defender by the LSU cheerleader,” another fan said.

“Get that man at linebacker. Text book tackle,” a third fan said.

“The most unhinged school in the nation!” a fourth fan said.

“So is that LSU guy cheerleader going to be allowed to push the Ole Miss DB like that out of bounds? Dude doesn’t deserve to be allowed on the sidelines for the year for that,” a fifth fan said.

LSU ended up getting the win over Ole Miss after the sideline scuffle, giving them a 5-1 record on the season and propelling them up to No. 8 in the rankings.

Ole Miss fell to 5-2 and dropped to No. 18 in the college football rankings.

While it was a good game on the field, a lot of attention was turned to some of the fans in the crowd.

Cheering on the LSU Tigers was famous gymnast Olivia Dunne and her MLB boyfriend Paul Skenes.

The rest of the band members followed him, and after 10 minutes the concert resumed.

Nick, 32, was seemingly forced to stop the show and sprint off the stage at the O2 Arena in the capital of the Czech Republic, as per a video circulating social media.

It is also claimed that “someone pointed a laser at him.”

“I saw on Twitter that apparently someone pointed a laser at him, so he ran off, followed by Joe and Kevin, and then the whole band left and the show was stopped fro a few mins before continuing,” someone commented under a video on TikTok.

The video, which was shared online by Instagram fan account JonasDailyNews_, had a caption that read, “The person was removed from the venue and the show continued.

“I’m glad Nick and the rest of the best is safe.”

Nick was spotted making a “time out” signal with his hands toward his security as he rushed down the stairs and away from the stage.

Joe, 35, and Kevin, 36, also ran off the stage, but with the show resuming soon after, it seems that all was resolved and the guys are fine.

With the video circulating social media, fans of the singer have shared their thoughts on the incident that led to him fleeing the stage.

‘GOOD DECISION’

“He just ran away to secure his life, good decision. Life is precious for everyone,” penned one on Facebook.

“Why would someone in the audience feel it necessary to do that?????” quizzed a second.

“Quick and smart decision by Nick,” added a third.

A fourth person then said, “Entertainers do not need to be subject to this behavior!!!!”

‘NICK LOOKED PANICKED’

On Reddit, one user commented on the video and said, “Nick looked so panicked. Glad it was nothing and they could finish the show. But his reaction was 100% the right one if a laser is pointed at you in that situation.

“And seriously, what are people doing pointing a laser at someone’s head in the first place. People need to be better.”

Android owners must learn to ‘lock’ app to screen so nosy pals can’t snoop around your pictures

YOUR Android phone has a clever trick to stop people from snooping on your pictures.

It’s called app pinning and it stops friends or family from roaming around your phone.

a screenshot of the security and privacy page on a phone
Google / Android
You can find app pinning inside your Settings app[/caption]

Imagine you want to show someone something on your phone, like a YouTube video.

If it’s a child or a friend, you might not want them roaming freely across your phone.

And if a child is using your Android phone, it’s the perfect way to stop them seeing anything they shouldn’t – or accidentally deleting your files.

Google explains: “You can pin an app’s screen to keep it in view until you unpin it.

“For example, you can pin an app and hand your phone to a friend.

“With the screen pinned, your friend can use only that app. To use your other apps again, you can unpin the screen.”

If the person tries to leave the app, they’ll be prompted to enter your passcode.

Without that, they won’t be able to leave the app to snoop.

HOW TO TURN ON APP PINNING ON ANDROID

Just go into the Settings app on your Android phone.

Then tap on Security (or Security & Location), then choose Advanced > App Pinning.

Now just turn App Pinning on and you’ll be able to pin a screen.

Go to the screen that you’re trying to pin – like the YouTube app.

Then swipe up to the middle of your screen and hold.

At the top of the image, tap on the app’s icon and then choose Pin.

If you’re using an older phone running Android 8.1 or earlier, go to the screen that you want to pin and then tap Overview (a square icon).

Then swipe up to show the Pin icon at the bottom-right of your chosen screen, and then tap it.

HOW TO UNPIN A SCREEN ON ANDROID

To unpin a screen, you’ve got three options.

With gesture navigation, you’ll want to swipe up and hold.

TRY GUEST MODE TOO!

There's another trick worth learning...

It’s called Guest Mode, and it’s built directly into Android.

Google explains: “A guest profile is for someone using your device for a short time.

“Like a user, the guest profile has its own space on the device, but it’s easier to delete this space when a guest is done with the device.”

Swipe down from the top of your screen to enter Quick Settings, then tap the User icon and choose Add Guest.

You can then switch to that guest profile, and it won’t include your private info.

Guests can sign in on their own accounts using the profile.

And then you can totally wipe it afterwards.

If you’ve got two-button navigation turned on, touch and hold the Back and Home buttons.

With three-button navigation, touch and hold the Back and Overview buttons.

You’ll then be asked for your PIN, pattern, or password to break out of the pinned app.

Remember that a person will only stay locked inside an app if they don’t know your passcode.
