Nottingham Forest 1 Crystal Palace 0: Dean Henderson drops clanger in front of England caretaker Lee Carsley

DEAN HENDERSON dropped a clanger in front of watching England caretaker boss Lee Carsley – eight days after Thomas Tuchel’s stand-in awarded him his England return!

Former Forest loanee Hendo was on top of the world when he flew his family to Finland to see him end his long wait for a senior England cap in the Three Lions’ 3-1 win.

But tonight his world fell apart here as he allowed Chris Wood‘s half-hit volley to squirm under him to cost Palace a crucial draw which kept Oliver Glasner’s strugglers in the drop zone.

Wood couldn’t believe his luck as he bagged his fifth goal in eight games this season to become Forest’s third player to score 20 Premier League goals, alongside Bryan Roy and Stan Collymore.

And to rub salt in Henderson’s wounds Forest keeper Matz Sels surpassed himself with a string of top saves, and denied sub Jeffrey Schlupp a late leveller with a brilliant one-handed save.

It was a positive end to a tough week for the Prem’s current whipping boys.

Forest’s naughty step was certainly groaning after the FA stepped in to punish their bad boys.

Boss Nuno Espirito Santo was banished to an executive box as he started a three-match ban for his misconduct in his side’s 2-2 draw with Brighton last month.

Morgan Gibbs-White was injured anyway but also served a further one-match ban following his red card against the Seagulls – as well as copping a £20,000 fine.

Meanwhile, James Ward-Prowse was suspended following his red card at Chelsea last time out.

Even Forest’s larger-than-life owner Evangelos Marinakis was subject to a whopping five-match ban – which he is appealing – for “improper behaviour,” around the tunnel area at full-time against Fulham on September 28.

The Greek tycoon decided not to pour fuel on the fire by attending the game while the appeal process unfolds.

But it was a measure of Forest’s ongoing feud with the authorities that their fans loudly booed the pre-match handshakes between the players – as they protested totting up £825,000 worth of fines this month alone!

Unfortunately no-one was able to cash in at the end of an entertaining first 45 minutes when plenty of chances were created – but none taken.

Palace, refreshed from their 16 day break, started on the front foot and Eberichi Eze flashed a left footer just wide from 25 yards.

Daichi Kamada and Eddie Nketiah were next to try their luck but failed to trouble Matz Sels unduly, while Jefferson Lerma picked up an early booking for hauling down Ola Aina.

Incredibly it was his 40th top flight yellow card, making the midfielder the sixth baddest boy for bookings in Prem history.

Elliot Anderson then took centre stage in front of watching England caretaker boss Lee Carsley.

The £35million summer signing from Newcastle had the City Ground on its feet with a Messi-like run which saw him wriggle past three Palace defenders before Dean Henderson pawed away his shot for a corner.

Wood had a header cleared off the line by Lerma before Nketiah came even closer at the other end with a swerving shot on the run which clipped off the outside of Sels’ post.

Not to be undone, Forest skipper Ryan Yates steered a header beyond Henderson but, frustratingly, the ball bounced back off the far post as Wood failed to apply the finishing touch.

Five of the last six league games between this pair have finished as draws and the game desperately needed a goal to breathe fresh life into it.

However Matz Sels refused to play ball as he pulled off a stunning double save to deny Eze then Kamada, who he somehow blocked from four yards.

Fortunately the flag was up for offside to save Kamada’s blushes.

Anderson was then booked for bundling over Nketiah and from the resulting free kick Palace brought out the best in Sels again.

Will Hughes touched the ball to one side and Ebericho Eze unleashed a screamer which Forest’s Belgian keeper sensationally tipped over.

However it was a goalkeeping howler at the other end which finally broke the deadlock just after the hour.

Alex Moreo’s long ball forward was nodded out by Trevoh Chalobah and Wood pounced to fire in a harmless looking volley which lacked power.

But Henderson got it all wrong, allowing the ball to squirm under his outstretched arm and the ball squeezed in at his near post.

Jon Gosselin would support Collin ‘rectifying’ relationship with mom Kate despite abuse claims & hopes son ‘has closure’

JON Gosselin has praised his son Collin for coming forward about the abuse he allegedly faced at the hands of his mom, and would support him if he ever wanted to speak to her again.

Collin bravely opened up to The U.S. Sun last month as he claimed his mother Kate Gosselin had emotionally and physically abused him.

Kate Gosselin has not spoken out publicly since the accusations or contacted the family[/caption]

He insisted there was a dark side to his childhood when the cameras weren’t rolling for the hit 2000s reality show Jon and Kate Plus 8.

In an emotional video interview, he claimed Kate, 49, had zip-tied his arms and legs and locked him in the basement as a child at their family home.

Kate had him admitted to a mental health facility when he was 11 and claimed he had several behavioral and psychiatric conditions.

He even shared private medical records with The U.S. Sun to prove he has no such problems.

Collin’s dad Jon had already moved out of the house after he and Kate divorced and he had no custody of his sextuplets; Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel, and twins Mady and Cara.

Following his son’s brave interview, Jon said he was proud of him for opening up.

Speaking at the launch of The Unofficial Vanderpump Rules Ultimate Book, Jon said, “I love my son, I support him. I think it’s good for a man to speak up about things that happened and I think it’s closure for him.

“If he wants to rectify things with his mother, I think that’s ok, you know, best of luck and .. I always tell him that, you do you, bro. That’s all that matters.”

He’s doing really well, all my kids are doing really well.”

Jon Gosselin

Despite everything, Collin, 20, claimed the door is open for a reconciliation with Kate.

He’d also be open to contact with his estranged brothers and sisters: Aaden, Leah, Alexis, and Joel, all 20, and Mady and Cara, both 24.

“So first and foremost, my relationship with my brothers and sisters is of top priority to me,” Collin told The U.S. Sun.

“And I think the only way that my mother and I would be able to reconnect and fix our relationship in the future is, if she would just come forward with the truth and all the things that she has kept under wraps.

“And you know the many times that she’s tried to soil my name and my father’s name. I just would want her to come forward with the truth.”

He added, “[But] Yes, that door would be open. 100 percent.”

Asked if he’d heard from Kate since the allegations, his dad Jon said, “No. Just her attorney. Whatever, but that’s a whole other subject.”

He went on to say Collin was thriving as he’s enrolled at Pennsylvania State University and Jon now has an “empty nest”.

Jon said, “He’s doing really well, all my kids are doing really well, and from what Hannah told me.

“Let them be adults, live their life and if they wanna put the past behind them, cool.”

Collin accused his mom of physically and emotionally abusing him as a child[/caption]

He also added that if they want to use their former fame on reality TV to make money down the line like he does with DJing celebrity events, he said he would also support that.

“If you wanna make a career out of this … it’s not too shabby,” he laughed.

Collin is doing much better after living with his father, and described his childhood as “rough”.

He said, “I definitely went through it a lot as a kid from my mother’s end. So it was tough.

“I just remember being isolated from my siblings and constantly taking the fall for her emotions or the tough things going on in her life.

“I just remember being a scapegoat and always taking the brute end of things.

“I was 100% treated differently [than my siblings]. I was isolated and I was taken away from them and I didn’t eat dinners with my family.”

He enlisted in the Marines to fulfill a lifelong dream of serving his country but it went up in smoke.

In August last year, he was dismissed during his training for “non-disclosure of pre-enlistment history.”

It came just a month after his mom – who has had no relationship with him for years – revealed in a post on Instagram that Collin had received “multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years.”

Kate Gosselin's 2023 statement about Collin

Kate posted this statement on her Instagram page in July 2023:

“I never wanted to have to do this, but I feel I have been backed into a corner and left with no choice. Although it saddens me to do so, I need to speak out now.

“My son Collin, whom I love with all my heart, has received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years. For the safety of myself, his brothers and sisters and for his own well-being, he was placed in a facility following years of outpatient treatment, which proved insufficient for his needs. The decision to admit him was made by emergency room doctors following one of his many attacks/outbursts – this one involving his use of a weapon. Fast forward to the present day, and following Jon’s removal of Collin from treatment, my son’s unpredictable and violent behaviors have sadly continued regularly toward Jon, Hannah and others around him.

“Collin’s distorted perception of reality is one of the many issues that he has always struggled with. As many people who have family members grappling with mental health issues can attest, it is rarely and sadly surprising when complete fabrications occur and is just another heartbreaking facet of this fight.

“All parent/child relationships are complex, but when mental illness is involved, it is incredibly complicated and painful, and certainly not easy for others on the outside to understand. All measures that were taken in our home were at the explicit recommendations of his pediatric psychiatrist and/or his team of specialists and were put into place to safeguard every member of our family, our friends as well as our family pets.

“Unfortunately, I believe Collin remains a very troubled young man who continues to need a lot of help. His brothers and sister and I have not been directly involved in his life due to his history of unpredictable behavior and violent tendencies toward us. What his sister Mady posted on social media recently is completely accurate and I deeply appreciate her bravery in doing so.

“This is all I have to say on the matter and I will not be discussing this subject further at this time.”

She alleged he had been admitted to a facility following an attack involving a “weapon” and described him as “unpredictable and violent,” which he strongly denies.

“My dream of becoming a US Marine was crushed and it was taken away from me and now I have to fight and do everything I can to fulfill that dream still,” he said.

“It’s very important to put these allegations to rest and it’s important to me, for her, to come forward with the truth because I want nothing more than to serve my country.”

Kate did not directly respond to the claims of abuse, but attorney Richard Puleo, who represented Kate in previous legal matters, released a statement on her behalf.

He said, “There’s always two sides to every story and when things take place in the past, it’s hard to determine because people have differing recollections and perspectives.

“However, I can personally attest to this situation as I knew Kate and all eight of her children since they were small and I don’t believe Kate ever did anything intentionally to harm Collin.

“I think she did whatever she did to protect herself and her family from some of his troubled behavior as a child.

“That’s not to say he’s got psychological impairment, I’m not a psychiatrist.

“However, I think if Kate did the things that Collin is accusing Kate of, she would have been investigated by the authorities and prosecuted.

“Additionally, I don’t think the Marine Corps saw Kate’s post and decided to throw Collin out.”

“Could Kate’s post have had some influence? Sure, I think it may have made them delve into Collin’s history – but blaming his mother for being thrown out of the military is misplaced.

“Kate has no interest in saying anything, which is what she’s done in the past.”

Drivers to be slapped with $100 fines as number of speeding cameras is doubled on ‘America’s most hated road’

HEAVY-FOOTED drivers are being threatened with $100 fines as the number of speed cameras on a central highway has since doubled.

Drivers who routinely drive along Interstate 84 in New York will now need to pump the brakes and be extremely cautious of stealth speed cameras being installed.

Cameras equipped with radar technology have been installed throughout New York State to clamp down on speeding drivers.

But, to protect work zones and construction crews, speed cameras are being installed along stretches of I-84 to ensure drivers obey the speed limits.

The stealth cameras are being positioned at work zones and areas where crews are fixing roads throughout New York, according to radio station 101.5 WPDH.

The New York Department of Transportation said the cameras are being installed to protect drivers and construction crews.

No points are associated with the tickets, but drivers are being hit with stiff penalties.

First-time offenders will be fined $50.

However, second-time speeders will be hit with a $75 ticket.

If a vehicle is caught speeding three or more times within a year and a half, the owner will receive a staggering $100 fine.

The latest cameras to be set up are on the eastbound lane of I-84 in Orange County, according to 101.5 WPDH.

The radio station reported at least 27 active speed cameras throughout stretches of I-84 in New York State.

How to fight a speeding ticket

According to a legally reviewed post, there are five effective strategies to fighting a speeding ticket if it was wrongfully issued.

  1. If pulled over and issued a ticket, drivers can argue or dispute a driver’s personal opinion. When issuing a speeding ticket, an officer is required to write their opinion and come to an “objective” conclusion. If the ticket was written based on that judgment, it can be contested. An example would be if you were going 75 mph in a 65 mph zone because others were traveling at the same speed, you could argue that it would be more dangerous to travel at 65 mph.
  2. You can dispute the officer’s presentation of evidence. If you were ticketed for something like running a stop sign or making an illegal u-turn, you can’t contest that if an officer saw you, but you can call things into court like eyewitnesses, diagrams, or photos.
  3. Argue that the ticket was issued by a “mistake of fact.” This is tricky, but a “mistake of fact” is a mistake made by a driver about a situation that was beyond their control, or if a driver legitimately did not know they were violating the law. For example, you were driving in two lanes because the lane markers were so worn down that you could not see them.
  4. You could say circumstances justified your driving. You could say you were speeding to pass a possibly drunk driver, or avoiding an accident by rapidly changing lanes. However, the argument won’t work if there’s proof you continued to speed after passing.
  5. Similar to the above, it could be argued that speeding was necessary to avoid harm. The key is to argue that if you weren’t speeding, you or someone else could have been harmed.
  6. Consult a traffic attorney, if all else fails. Many have free consultations to decide whether or not there’s a case.

‘AMERICA’S MOST HATED ROAD’

The I-84 section along Connecticut has notoriously been dubbed the most hated roadway by Reddit and X users.

“I’m sure you all have your least favorite roads, but I-84… What a ribbon of s**t,” one driver previously complained on X.

“Wipe it from the face of the f**king earth.”

Several other drivers complained about their highway experience on a Reddit thread.

“I experienced I-84 traffic in the Danbury area,” one Redditor reported.

“My gosh, I have seen exits eight through 10 completely backed up along with the state border exits of Danbury on the most random times of the day.”

The Redditor supposed that the traffic along the highway had gotten “worse” in the past five years.

State officials said the highway has become more dangerous recently – but they pointed the finger at drivers flouting road laws, according to the Hartford Courant.

“It’s what’s happening on all the interstates because it’s really attributed to drivers,” Josh Morgan, a spokesperson for the state’s Department of Transportation, told the publication.

“It’s just that cars are driving way too fast.”

More on I-84

Here are some more details on Connecticut's I-84:

The highway spans just under 100 miles from the New York state line to the Massachusetts state line.

I-84 runs through major cities in Connecticut like Danbury, Waterbury, and Hartford.

Drivers can access other important arteries in the state from the highway, like I-684 and I-91.

The highway first started construction in 1958 and finished in the early 1980s with modest improvement projects.

Connecticut officials are working on expanding parts of the highway to a six-lane road in major metropolitan areas.

It also has a nondairy strawberry cold foam on top and an “Oz-dusting” of pink candy sprinkles.

Those who opt for Elphaba’s Cold Brew will encounter a drink with beans custom-selected to encourage a long and cold steep, making it smoother and more enjoyable.

“I love them all,” a third added.

“Way better than the Stanleys,” someone else said.

DEAL DOWNGRADE

While customers are mostly thrilled over the Wicked offerings, some were not thrilled by Starbucks’ recent move to scale back discount offerings on its mobile application.

Newly-appointed CEO Brian Niccol backed the decision to help position Starbucks as a premium brand and eliminate strain on employees during larger promotional runs, per The Wall Street Journal.

Several Starbucks customers cried out after hearing the news.

“This is a big mistake. They will lose me as a customer,” someone wrote in a post online about the update.

“Let me guess…decrease overhead and maximize profits in a struggling economy,” wrote another.

The U.S. Sun previously reached out to Starbucks for comment but did not hear back.

A Starbucks employee also recently leaked the brand’s new holiday menu with six “surprise” items ahead of its November release date.

Delphi trial sketch artist reveals Richard Allen’s eerie behavior in ‘tense’ courtroom as she stared him down for 8hours

THE sole sketch artist who stared down Delphi murders suspect Richard Allen for eight hours has given an inside look at his courtroom behavior.

April Ganser described capturing the charged courtroom where the families of Libby German, 14, and Abby Williams, 13, await justice seven years after the teens were killed.

The eerie courtroom behaviors of Richard Allen, 52, have been revealed by the sketch artist for the murder trial

Allen, 52, is accused of ruthlessly murdering the two girls in February 2017 after they went on a walk at a park near their homes in Delphi, Indiana, about an hour and a half north of Indianapolis.

The highly anticipated murder trial began on Friday, and so far the court has heard gruesome details about the moment detectives found Libby’s naked body after her and Abby’s throats were slashed.

For years Delphi residents held their breaths and feared the case had gone cold, until Allen was arrested in October 2022, bringing a sigh of relief to the girls’ families.

Detectives have testified that Allen confessed 60 times to killing the girls while behind bars, but he’s pleaded not guilty and is fighting the charges.

Now, the families are sitting in a tense federal trial where a strict judge has already banned five news crews for not following her in-court rules.

While no photographers are allowed in court, the judge permitted a sketch artist to come in for the opening day.

Ganser, an artist who helps lead local art company T.A.G., was approached to do the job, and jumped at the chance to test her skills capturing the historic moment.

However after her sketches were released, she faced significant backlash from critics who weren’t impressed with her renderings.

Now in an exclusive conversation with The U.S. Sun, Ganser has proudly stood by her drawings and described feelings eminated from the court room as she sat face to face with one of America’s most notorious alleged killers.

Ganser was about four feet away from Allen and his defense during the trial, and remembered being shocked he wore a purple shirt and slacks instead of a prison jumper.

When asked about his behaviors in the room, she remembers seeing him smile assuredly at his family members who watched on from the gallery.

“I caught him even having a prayerful moment at times as they prepared to begin,” she said.

“I was very fresh and new walking into it, so I didn’t have that relationship, but many, many people were there offering support.”

‘READY FOR CLOSURE’

Family members, reporters, and prosecutors all walked into the courtroom looking anxious to finally get answers to the years-long mystery, according to Ganser.

“It was calm and tense at the same time,” the artist said.

“Everyone in the room is ready for closure.

“It was a very respectful time. Everyone was kind of holding their breath.

“It’s been a long seven years and everyone there, including the public, are eager to get a verdict and get justice for the situation.”

Ganser wasn’t too familiar with the case when she signed on for the job, but briefly reviewed Allen’s face to prepare.

She also hadn’t worked as a court room sketch artist before, but was excited to take the challenge.

When Ganser signed on for the job, she was asked to come out with three to five drawings of the proceedings, but she managed to turn out eight sketches before the day was up.

She wasn’t familiar with any online hate over the work, and when told about it, she described the pressures of working in tight, highly regulated quarters.

“They are more of an illustration,” she said.

“My style may not be for everyone, and that’s OK.”

Ganser normally works as a digital artist, but all technology was banned from the courtroom.

Working with a pencil and paper, she tried to capture as many scenes as possible, and had to hand her work off as soon as the day’s proceedings ended.

Looking back at the day, Ganser is proud she said yes, and views it as a great experience.

She was only permitted to sit in on the first day of trial, but said she would happily return if the judge permitted her to.

“I’m not discouraged,” she said.

“I actually enjoyed it, and I would love to develop my technique.

“If someone doesn’t care for it, I’m not going to let it bug me.”

Defense's timeline of Richard Allen's 'mental decline'

TRIAL CONTINUES

On Monday, horrific crime scene photos were shown to the court, and the officer who first saw the girls’ bodies gave an emotional testimony.

Hearbroken family members tried to stifle sobs as prosecutors revealed pictures of Libby’s slashed throat and bloody face, ABC News reported.

Prosecutors tied Allen to the case through an unfired bullet found near the girls, which they say was traced back to a gun uncovered in his home.

They also pinned him to a now-horrifying Snapchat video taken by the girls, which captured a large man lumbering across a bridge they had just crossed.

Proseutors believe that man pulled out a gun and ordered the victims to walk “down the hill,” based on chilling audio captured in the videos.

Meanwhile, Allen’s defense have questioned DNA evidence linking him to the scene, and said that he was away from the hiking trial hours before the girls are believed to have been killed.

They’ve also warned that Allen’s mental state has rapidly declined in the past two years, and previously argued he was unfit to stand trial.

Twelve jurors, comprised of eight women and four men, will determine Allen’s fate, along with four alternates.

The jurors are holed up in a hotel and had to surrender their phones for the remainder of the trial.

Allen is facing up to 130 years in prison if convicted. Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty.

The U.S. Sun spoke with podcasters closely following the case, and they gave their predictions on bizarre allegations that could come out in court.

“He asked how much he should spend on a ring and make it a special moment.”

The U.S. Sun has been told Belichick is ready to drop $200,00 on a sparkly surprise for Jordon.

He reportedly met her on a flight in 2021 and started dating officially in June this year after a split from his partner of 16 years, Linda Holliday.

The pair have been pictured together on numerous occasions.

“He has to decide very soon because he has to pick between two rings that jewelry designers suggested to him,” added the pal.

According to our sources, Romantic Belichick is seriously considering a destination wedding in the Caribbean or Croatia.

The downsides of having a massive age gap relationship

Dr. Jenn Mann, MFT, a licesesed therapist, reveals the key issues experienced by romantic partners with a huge age gap between them.

Dr. Mann claimed it might initially feel exciting when one partner is much younger than the other, like Bill Belichick, 72, and Jordon Hudson, 24, who share a whopping 48-year age difference.

“When people get older, they might just think it is refreshing that a young woman is looking at them adoringly and is attracted to them and is interested in him,” Dr. Mann told The U.S. Sun.

“[But] there is a huge gap in life experience — in just years on this planet, in the way that helps us to evolve, develop, and mature.”

“Even the most mature young person, when there is a 40-year age gap, the older people are incredibly immature.

“You’re not meeting in the middle regarding development and life experience.”

Dr. Mann said one common consideration for older male partners would be the younger female wanting a father figure.

“Usually, younger women are drawn to much older men because of unresolved issues with their fathers,” Dr. Mann added.

“This could be a lack of attention, love, someone not being there, or even someone being in the household but not being present the way she might wish he was.”

Dr. Mann noted that sexual and intimacy issues might begin to be at play, given the older partner may not have as much energy.

What’s more, for older men, “it becomes more difficult typically to get and maintain an erection,” she said.

“There are problems related to sexual performance, which can create other risks when it comes to taking medication for sexual performance.”

Socially, Dr. Mann suggested that issues may arise between a couple when they mix with friends from different generations.

“In this case, if they’re hanging with Bill’s friends in their seventies or even sixties and fifties, a 24-year-old woman at that table will likely struggle to find common ground socially,” she said.

By Emma Bussey

“Bill loves the Adriatic coast, the romantic spots and landscapes,” said the source.

“He loves to make things special for her.

“The goal is to get engaged after the end of the season when they will both have a break from work. “

Once the NFL season is over and his TV and media commitments are over, Belichick plans to whisk Jordon away to the French Riviera, Italy, and then back to Croatia.

A return to coaching is a possibility, although The U.S. Sun revealed last week that the Pats icon has no chance of taking over the New York Jets following Robert Saleh‘s brutal sacking.

Whatever he decides, his new girlfriend will have his back.

“He feels like it’s a new start in his life,” confirmed the source.

“She will support him whatever he decides to do. They are an excellent and united couple.”

Vanderpump Rules’ Peter Madrigal promises ‘drama, drama, drama’ on new spinoff – but he and Tom Sandoval ‘won’t watch’

VANDERPUMP Rules alum Peter Madrigal said fans of the franchise will be in for a wild ride if Bravo greenlights a spin-off with new staff at SUR in West Hollywood.

The U.S. Sun confirmed filming has taken place at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant and bar, but Bravo has yet to announce it has been greenlit.

Season 12 of Vanderpump Rules is currently on hiatus as the network decides which direction to go in post-“Scandoval,” which saw Tom Sandoval cheat on Ariana Madix with her close friend Rachel Leviss.

None of the current cast work together anymore after becoming rich from the show and working on their own businesses.

Bravo is looking to go back to day one and focus on 20-somethings at SUR, which is still a popular spot in Los Angeles.

Manager Peter Madrigal was never a main cast member but appeared in every season except the last. He says he’d love to see the restaurant be the focus of the show again.

He spoke to The U.S. Sun about the future of the franchise at author Thea de Sousa’s launch party for The Unofficial Vanderpump Rules Ultimate Trivia Book, powered by CellSound.

When asked if he’d love to see SUR staff on screen again, he said, “Of course, why not? Let’s do it. If that’s what it takes to get another show up and running. Let’s do it. Just… pay Peter.”

It has previously been reported that he was paid much less than other cast members over the years, but he refused to confirm how much he made from the show.

Despite dipping out of the last season of Vanderpump, he feels a season at SUR would be a chance to see new, iconic reality TV characters, as the workplace has never changed.

The only difference is that I’m the grizzled old man.”

Peter Madrigal on a possible SUR spin-off

“We’re always dramatic here,” he laughed. “It’s the same thing as season one! Exact same thing: drama, drama, drama.

“Same sh** different year. Getting drunk, chilling out with each other, partying all the time.

“The only difference is that I’m the grizzled old man. I’m not Wolverine in X Men, I’m Wolverine in Deadpool.”

When asked why he has worked at SUR for so many years, he said, “I enjoy the company, I enjoy the people, I love my bosses. That’s what keeps me here.

“I still have my own stuff outside of here, but yeah, for the most part… it’s a lot of fun. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, right here at SUR.”

He said Vanderpump Rules had been “quite the journey,” but he has no regrets years after it first aired in 2013.

“I look back fondly at my memories of the show. I’d like to see another series, but I have no idea who is coming back and who is not.”

He shot down any ideas about him joining The Valley as he doesn’t get on with Jax Taylor.

“I don’t watch that. It’s just people trying to figure themselves out who should have already figured themselves out.”

When asked about Jax’s divorce from Brittany Cartwright, he joked, “Who? Who?” adding that she will “kick a**” after years of putting up with her ex and his bad behavior.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 Cast

Vanderpump Rules has returned to Bravo for one of its most explosive seasons following the fallout of Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix's relationship.

Returning Cast Members

  • Lisa Vanderpump returns as one of the original cast mates and acts as a mentor and confidant to the group.
  • Ariana Madix returns hurt following her ex, Tom Sandoval, cheating on her.
  • James Kennedy has been expanding his DJ career and recently moved in with his girlfriend, Ally.
  • Katie Maloney is working hard to open her sandwich restaurant with Ariana as she navigates life post-divorce.
  • Lala Kent has struck up an unexpected friendship with Tom Schwartz, which has caused a rift between her and the rest of the girls.
  • Scheana Shay is navigating married life with Brock and a toddler as they leave the honeymoon period.
  • Tom Sandoval has been attempting to work on himself and start repairing his broken relationships.
  • Tom Schwartz embraces a new appearance change as he takes blows for helping his pal Tom in his affair with Ariana.

New Cast Members

  • Ally Lewber is focusing on becoming an astronomer attempting to find friendships in the group after she and James embrace suburban life.
  • Brock Davies has been testing out new dynamics as a family man

He said, “I saw that she was dating someone. I think she deserves a lot of fun right now, absolutely.”

Peter also had wise words of advice for any newbies starring in a spin-off, saying, “I’d say keep moving forward, going slow and… I don’t really watch the show, so I don’t judge myself so much. I don’t watch it, so that’s the advice I’d give.

“Don’t watch the show, and don’t judge yourself.”

TOM’S SIDE

And he’s not the only one who will not be tuning in.

Tom Sandoval, who also made an appearance at the book party with girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson, said he’d like to see a SUR spin-off.

But he revealed, “I probably wouldn’t watch much of it, because I already get enough anxiety from my show, so I don’t really watch a lot of reality shows.

“But I would say just be yourself, live in the moment, connect, focus on the connections.”

He said the reason Vanderpump Rules was so big was because of the relatable cast.

“We’re a group of friends, work together, go out together, vacation together,” he said.

His time on reality TV has been a rollercoaster as he was vilified for cheating on Ariana Madix with their friend Rachel Leviss with the fallout nicknamed “Scandoval.”

“Definitely some ups and downs,” he said.

“I would say it’s funny because some of my favorite parts of the show are maybe not other people’s, but other people’s are definitely not mine.

“I’d have to say it’s been a ride, a huge learning experience, it puts things under a microscope and in perspective.

Peter Madrigal admitted his journey on Vanderpump Rules has been a rollercoaster[/caption]

“No matter what happens between me and my other cast mates, there’s always a sense of like, respect and pride, when people are putting themselves out there.

“I’ve grown a lot. I’ve learned a lot, sometimes the hard way, a lot of times the hard way, but it seems to stick better that way for some reason.”

Tom said most of the cast seem keen on another season, and he’d happily film, but they are still waiting on the call from Bravo.

He has already appeared briefly on The Valley and has gotten close to former co-star Jax again amid his divorce and stint in rehab for mental health struggles.

He said, “He seems to be doing better, obviously it’s a journey so I wish him the best. I’m here, you know.”

Despite dipping his toe in the spin-off world, he admits he’s thought of quitting reality TV altogether if Vanderpump does end.

“I’d just have to sort of revisit and think about things,” he said. “I would probably like to pivot to something a little different. I don’t know. Just have to wait and see.”

But he certainly won’t be quitting the industry anytime soon or moving out of Los Angeles.

“I mean, if you want to dance, you gotta be where music is playing,” he said.

“I love my band. I’ve got Traitors [on Peacock] coming out. There’s other things in the works. So you know, it’s where you gotta be.”

Stop & Shop holds 15% liquidation storewide sales ahead of store closures – signs mark up extra discounts

The major discount comes as eight stores in Massachusetts are set to close their shutters either on or before November 2.

The major discount comes as eight stores in Massachusetts are set to close[/caption]

Fans of the massive retailer can expect to see a 15per cent storewide discount starting October 25, according to The Patriot Ledger.

Alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, fuel, prescriptions, stamps, calling cards, Western Union money orders among other items are excluded from the discount by state law.

To those who want to grab a bargain, it’s advised to look out for store signs that details additional discounts as the closure date nears for the affected locations.

It comes as some customers at the retailer could expect lower costs after the removal of an automatic surcharge.

Stop & Shop confirmed the fee’s elimination at the beginning of October, along with other moves to benefit the shopping experience in a key state.

Those who frequent any of Stop & Shop’s 25 stores in Rhode Island will no longer have to pay 10 cents for paper bags, per an October 8 press release.

Starting in October, the bags will again be free for those at Stop & Shop stores in the state.

Stop & Shop said the move was part of its initiative to “make groceries more affordable” for Rhode Island residents, according to the release.

Along with the 10-cent paper bag fee removal, the retailer said it would be lowering prices on thousands of its national and private brand items.

Shoppers can expect reductions on over 3,500 products across nearly every department in each store.

That’s a total of around 87,500 price drops on merchandise.

Those items that are discounted will have yellow tags that highlight the reduction compared to the original listing.

In July, the company announced it was closing 32 underperforming stores by the end of the year.

“Following the closures, Stop & Shop will continue to have a strong presence across its five-state footprint with more than 350 stores,” the press release read.

Gordon Reid, President of Stop & Stop, said they will continue to “nourish the communities.”

“Stop & Shop is proud of the deep roots and community ties we have developed as a neighborhood grocer of more than 100 years, and we remain committed to nourishing our associates, customers and communities,” said Reid.

“As we announced in May, Stop & Shop has evaluated its overall store portfolio and made the difficult decision to close underperforming stores to create a healthy base for the future growth of our brand.

“Our associates are a strong community dedicated to growing and working together, and all of our store associates will continue to have a place in the Stop & Shop family as we look forward to serving customers at other nearby locations,” Reid concluded.

8 Stop & Shop closures in Massachusetts

HERE are the eight Massachusetts Stop & Shop or bfresh Market closures:

  • 24 Mattakeesett St. in Pembroke
  • 932 North Montell St. in Brockton

Pittsburgh Steelers ‘aggressively’ pursue shock trade following Russell Wilson QB starter drama

THE Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly looked to add a piece to help the passing game.

The Steelers have a chance of trading for a star after stunningly naming Russell Wilson the team’s starting quarterback ahead of Week 7.

Steelers signal-caller Justin Fields warms up before the team’s Week 6 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders[/caption]

After Week 6, Pittsburgh replaced Fields at signal-caller with Wilson.

Head coach Mike Tomlin‘s decision came at a surprise time as the Steelers were 4-2 under Fields.

But Wilson signed a one-year deal to be the team’s starting quarterback, but he suffered a calf injury on the eve of training camp and reaggravated it just days before Week 1.

And Fields averaged just 6.9 yards per attempt this season compared to Wilson, who averaged 7.2 last year.

The Steelers are looking to trade for a wide receiver per a report from CBS Sports.

Over the weekend, CBS NFL insider Jonathan Jones revealed that the Steelers will be active ahead of the November 5 NFL trade deadline.

“Sources believe the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers will be most aggressive in adding another receiver before the deadline gets here,” Jones wrote.

“Pittsburgh believes Russell Wilson has returned to form from a few years ago, and the hope is he can operate Arthur Smith’s offense more efficiently while opening up the vertical passing game. Coupling an improved offense with a stingy defense, Pittsburgh believes it is a contender in the AFC this year.”

Jones didn’t reveal exact options for the Steelers.

During the offseason, Pittsburgh traded Dionatae Johnson and attempted to trade for Brandon Aiyuk, who signed a long-term deal with the San Francisco 49ers.

The Steelers haven’t gotten great returns from the Steelers’ wide receiver group which is headlined by George Pickens, who recorded just 26 receptions in the team’s first six games of the season.

Johnson has been linked to a return trade that would send him back to Pittsburgh as the Carolina Panthers have a disappointing 1-6 record.

New York JetsMike Williams and Jacksonville Jaguars‘ Christian Kirk could also be options for Pittsburgh.

The Steelers didn’t trade a wide receiver ahead of their Sunday Night Football Week 7 matchup with the Jets, and it didn’t matter.

Wilson made his debut with Pittsburgh and led the team to a 37-15 victory at home.

He had a great connection with Pickens, who recorded five receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown.

Running back Najee Harris posted 21 carries for 102 yards and one touchdown.

The Steelers will take on the New York Giants in the Week 8 edition of Monday Night Football.

The Giants are coming off a disappointing 28-3 loss to the division rival Philadelphia Eagles.

Millions of Apple AirPods will let you take hearing test from next week – plus two other free ear perks

MILLIONS of pairs of Apple AirPods are about to be upgraded with the ability to offer hearing tests at home.

The update will go live next week – and will reveal your levels of hearing loss, if any.

Hearing tests are important, but aren’t taken enough.

When Apple announced the feature back in June, it reported that most Americans hadn’t had their hearing check in the last five years, according to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associated.

And the same is true for Brits, according to the RNID national hearing loss charity.

Now a long-awaited update to the Apple AirPods Pro 2 ($249 / £229) will let you do an at-home hearing test that only takes five minutes.

It’s coming to users in the US and Canada after receiving certification.

Sadly there’s no word on a release date for UK users yet, but it seems likely that Brits will eventually get the feature too.

It will very quickly reveal if you’ve experienced hearing loss and then make some recommendations.

“Millions of people are unaware that they’re living with hearing loss, and even more don’t get tested,” Apple explains.

“But now it’s faster, easier, and more convenient than ever to get scientifically validated results on your own time.”

It’s part of a free software update coming next week.

The reason why the feature doesn’t work in regular AirPods, according to Apple, is because of their design.

The AirPods Pro 2 have premium active noise cancellation as well as an in-ear seal that creates the right conditions to properly check your hearing.

When you begin the test, the system will automatically check the fit of the AirPods in your ear, as well as assessing background noise levels.

And Apple says it only takes a few minutes to complete the at-home examination.

After completing the test, you’ll receive easy-to-understand results right away

You’ll be played tones and asked to tap the screen when you hear them.

This can help your iPhone understand which frequencies of audio you can and can’t hear.

“Using pure‑tone audiometry built on advanced acoustic science, the test plays a series of tones that you respond to by tapping the screen,” Apple explains.

“Helpful animations, tap‑back effects, and progress indicators guide you through the experience, which takes about five minutes.

I'VE TRIED IT – YOU SHOULD TOO

The Sun’s tech expert Sean Keach had a go with an early preview of the feature back in June…

Apple unveiled its grand plans for hearing health at its WWDC event back in June.

And I had a chance to try out a demo version of the feature behind closed doors at Apple Park in California.

It didn’t give me proper hearing results, but I got to go through the test process to see how it worked.

I was amazed then and I still am now.

Most people just don’t get regular hearing tests.

So the fact that you can easily get one at home – and for free – whenever you like is truly incredible.

This is going to be literally life-changing for people who wouldn’t have got a hearing test otherwise, and didn’t know they had hearing loss.

And the fact that you can then use the AirPods Pro 2 as a hearing aid – which may help deal with issues of stigma – is even better.

Then if that wasn’t enough, the AirPods will also work to protect your hearing by reducing loud sounds.

This is technology at its best: making real differences to your help with products you already own for no extra cost.

The AirPods are moving from a fun and useful gadget to something that might genuinely change the course of your life. Bravo.

Now let’s get this feature in the hands (or rather ears) of Brits too, please.

“More than 150,000 real‑world audiograms and millions of simulations helped develop a Hearing Test that’s accurate, fast, and easy.”

Once you’re done, you’ll receive immediate results for each ear.

And if you have hearing loss, you can then set up your AirPods Pro 2 as a hearing aid.

Your info will be stored inside the iPhone’s official Apple Health app so you can check it whenever you like.

Screenshot
You can view your hearing test results at any time inside the Apple Health app on your iPhone
Apple

And you can download the test results to share with a doctor if you like.

Apple’s update will also add active Hearing Protection to help prevent further hearing loss.

“Hearing Protection translates the sound signatures of what you hear to lower levels in environments as loud as 110 dBA,” Apple said.

“Machine learning on the H2 chip actively reduces louder, more intermittent noise at 48,000 times per second, and the ear tips provide passive noise reduction.”

Screenshot
If you’ve experienced hearing loss, you can use the AirPods Pro as a hearing aid
Apple

For instance, you might want to wear them at a loud concert.

You’d still be able to hear the audio, but extreme noises would have their loudness reduced.

“Hearing health is a cornerstone of overall wellbeing,” said Rick Neitzel, University of Michigan School of Public Health’s professor of Environmental Health Sciences.

Professor Neitzel, who worked with Apple on its hearing research, added: “Protecting and preserving our hearing enhances our quality of life both in the short-term and long-term.

NHS: THE SIGNS OF HEARING LOSS

Here are official signs of hearing loss from the UK's National Health Service...

  • difficulty hearing other people clearly and misunderstanding what they say, especially in noisy places
  • asking people to repeat themselves
  • listening to music or watching TV with the volume higher than other people need
  • difficulty hearing on the phone
  • finding it hard to keep up with a conversation
  • feeling tired or stressed from having to concentrate while listening

“I’m thrilled Apple is introducing important tools to support people’s hearing health.

“These tools will help people protect their ears from noise pollution, be aware of changes in their hearing over time, and have important conversations with their healthcare providers when they need additional support.”
