Fast travel is a feature most players will want to get ahold of.

The gaming community did not waste time getting into the lore of Metaphor: ReFantazio and this guide will speed up the process of unlocking fast travel, a convenient feature to use in a game of this scope and scale. There are two ways of getting around the world map faster and one method involves playing the game for quite some time to unlock the Gauntlet Runner.

Tip
Players can’t instantly travel to different parts of the map without visiting these areas beforehand.

The Gauntlet Runner is an impressive device designed to take anyone wherever they wish and whenever they please. Players will have to spend a few weeks in the story as the main protagonist is transported to the engine room of the Gauntlet Runner on the afternoon of June 28th. After a good night’s sleep, the device will be available to use the following day.

Metaphor has a ton of boss fights similar to Elden Ring. You can also check our quick guide on how to beat the Fell Twins.

Players can use this device by traveling to certain locations they have already explored such as major cities and neighboring towns. There are no known restrictions for this device except for a few exceptions like being unable to use the fast travel feature to get to smaller areas or dungeons.

Another Alternate Method is by Using the Minimap

The game developers do not want to lose the players’ interest by traveling from places over great distances.

If players somehow forget to finish an errand while on the go, like buying certain items from shops on the other side of town, they can open their minimap and select which area they wish to travel to. The convenience of fast travel is to remove the obstacle of potentially being distracted or sidetracked while accomplishing a certain objective.

Metaphor: ReFantazio players will have an easier time traveling to different major cities and smaller towns within the kingdom. Rather than traveling on foot, which could take a few in-game minutes, the protagonist will be instantly teleported to wherever the player desires.

It may seem odd to find a fast travel feature within a minimap since these can help players navigate the area, however, in actuality, the game developers made it very convenient.

Alternatively, players can think outside the box to use their swords and glide around the town while on top of it. It is not on par with the minimap or Gauntlet Runner option for fast traveling that can instantly take the protagonist anywhere but gliding on the sword beats walking or running for miles and is a great tool for mobility and traversal.
