While this is inspiring and entertaining at the same time, it has also become a problem for the character development of the rest of the crew of the Straw Hats. It feels like Oda has forgotten about them and is solely focusing on the Monster Trio. While this may not pose a big threat as of now, it can become a big topic of discussion if Oda confirms a major detail about Franky’s past.
This detail gives a hint about Franky’s biological father and although it is a major deal, Oda has not at all emphasized on it enough. If the One Piece mangaka confirms it, it will not only bring a big change to the dynamic, but it will also prove that Oda is not at all paying attention to the rest of Luffy’s crew.
One Piece Vivre Card Hints About Franky’s Father
Popular and trusted One Piece fan account @pewpiece recently revealed on X, that according to the newly released Vivre Cards, Queen, one of the closest associates of Kaido of the Beast Pirates, might be the father of Franky. This shocking revelation comes from the fact that Queen’s Vivre Card mentions that he had a son 36 years ago and he abandoned him when he was 10.
This fits perfectly well with Franky’s past, who is currently 36 years old and was abandoned when he was 10 years old by his pirate parents near Water 7. Also, while many might not have noticed this, Franky and Queen have a lot in common. Both of them are Cyborgs and carry a flamboyant attitude towards life.
In fact, the two attacked Big Mom in Wano on separate occasions without having a sense of fear in their minds regarding the former Yonko. If the assumptions turn out to be true, it will be one of the biggest revelations by Oda about any member of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece.
Eiichiro Oda Might Not Be Focusing Much on Other Straw Hat Pirates
As fans must have noticed, the other members of the Straw Hat Pirates have not had decent character development since the time skip. And even if they had experienced any kind of growth, it has not been given much focus. On the other hand, Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro have been growing steadily, and their character development is celebrated a lot.
Nami, Robin, Usopp, Franky, Brook, Chopper, and Jinbe have stayed the same since the time skip, and only Robin experienced her Devil Fruit awakening during Wano, but even that didn’t amount to much. The same is happening with Franky and the revelation about his father.
Franky is one of the most important characters in One Piece. He has supported Luffy and others every step of the way, and there is not a single character in the series who hates him.

Thus, the details about his parents are a big character development for him, and they should have been given the same amount of importance by Eiichiro Oda as he would have given to Zoro, Sanji, or Luffy.
