Jamie Heskett shared her negative Walmart experience on social media.
In the August 20 Facebook post, the mom explained that she bought three cans of baby formula at the Gallipolis, Ohio store using WIC, but the “register froze” and took $65.
“It took it off of my card and Walmart refused to give me my formula,” Heskett continued.
“Thankfully I’m in a good enough position to purchase more formula to feed my baby.”
She then claimed that the store’s manager “had the nerve” to say, “It wasn’t your money anyways.”
However, Heskett said Walmart, “gained $65 for their mess up!”
She then revealed that she would be complaining further, writing, “Corporate better be ready to hear from this p**sed-off mama!”
The outraged mom encouraged WIC users to refrain from shopping at Walmart.
Other Facebook users shared Heskett’s anger at the retail giant.
One shopper said she would have contacted the police, writing, “Yeah I would’ve taken that s**t lol, call the cops and let’s explain the situation together!”
Another wrote, “That’s f**ked up.”
A third said, “Even if it isn’t ‘your money’ it’s still YOUR formula. Who Gaf if you didn’t directly pay for it.
“I can’t stand people who judge others, especially parents, for using the resources offered to them.”
Another commented, “How in the world….. That’s crazy.”
Why doesn’t Walmart offer Apple Pay?
CEO of Walmart Doug McMillon has revealed why stores don’t offer Apple Pay on Stratechery with Ben Thompson.
Though using Apple Pay at the retailer has been an ongoing conversation, McMillon emphasized that “We would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time.”
The app can be used to help find items in the store, but it can also be used to pay for your purchases.
“That’s one of the things that we would like people to use our app for,” he said.
A fifth Facebook user called the situation “absolutely ridiculous,” while others said the manager should lose their job.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Walmart for comment.
WALMART RAGE
Many customers have expressed their anger at Walmart for multiple reasons.
One shopper complained about the retailer’s lack of tap-to-pay options.
The customer did not have a physical credit card on hand and had to download the Walmart Pay app.
Another shopper left the store after growing frustrated with a long self-checkout line and a lack of open registers.
The customer left behind about 25 items.
