The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – How To Get A Horse

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom presents a vibrant world for its players to explore. Between the scenic fields of Hyrule to forests with well-hidden secrets, there’s a lot to uncover. Sometimes, walking, jumping and running isn’t enough, and having a trustworthy horse by your side can make things more fun!

Finding one isn’t too complicated, but will require you to do a quest in order to borrow a horse from a particular spot on the map. Once completed, you can head to this place and take a horse for a spin whenever you’d like to.

Runaway Horse Quest

Taking up the quest Runaway Horse in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
This is a fairly straightforward quest but may require your puzzle-solving skills to get the horse to safety.

The first thing you’ll need to do is open your map and look for a place called Hyrule Ranch. Head to this place, and you’ll notice a worried man who seems to have lost one of his dear horses. After speaking to him, the quest Runaway Horse will trigger, and you’ll be tasked with finding the horse.

This is where you will find the horse.

This quest will require you to move towards the west of the ranch. Keep moving until you see a horse stuck on an isle-esque location. The poor thing will look helpless until you manage to cross the water body surrounding it. Makes you wonder how it even got in this situation in the first place, eh?

There are a couple of ways of helping the horse out, and this includes either using your echoes to create a bridge for the horse or using your Bind ability to pull it towards you. There’s no right or wrong way of doing this, as long as you get the job done. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is pretty versatile that way.

Getting the Horse back

Riding a horse for the first time in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Any Bed and Trampoline Echo can do the trick! Just make sure the horse has a place that acts like a bridge.

If you choose to use your echoes, simply place something like a bed, a trampoline, and/or a small table to create enough space for the Horse to use as a bridge. Alternatively, you can use your Bind ability to pull it close to you until you can mount it.

Once you’re able to interact with the horse, simply mount it and start riding it towards the east, back to the ranch. You can boost the horse, and jump over obstacles as well (the horse will automatically do this). Once you’re back at the ranch (with the horse), speak to the man again, and he’ll happily let you take any horse from Hyrule Ranch.

Later in the game, there’s a quest called Impa’s Gift. Upon completing this quest, you will learn the Carrot Echo. This will let you summon your horse any time you’d like, wherever it’s possible to do so.
