The gaming world is eagerly waiting for the survival horror action title by Bloober Team, Silent Hill 2 Remake. This highly anticipated title is set to be released on October 8, 2024. As the name suggests, the upcoming title is going to be the remake of the famous 2001 game developed by Team Silent.
That game truly brought a revolution in the world of horror games. Despite being a 23-year-old game, the original game still gives chills to our bones with its terrifying and intimidating gameplay. Now, the remake title has brought a unique feature that is capable of bringing back the classic Silent Hill vibe.
You Can Turn Off UI Elements in Silent Hill 2 Remake
Bloober Team has recently announced through its official X handle that players will be able to turn off the UI elements on the main game screen in Silent Hill 2 Remake. The company has also confirmed that in the absence of the UI, the player will be guided naturally by the game’s visuals, sound effects, and also James’ behavior.
The main protagonist of the game will glance towards important spots and have different animations and facial expressions during wounded states. That means players will get a realistic sense of direction from the character without the help of any UI aspect.
Not only that, the company has also created a “90s filter” with grain effect, color correction, and screen adjustments, which will provide a classic feel of the original game, a complete old-school and nostalgic experience. Now if we combine the UI-less screen and this filter, the gameplay looks horrifically outstanding.
The UI-less screen allows players to interact with a larger percentage of the screen, which means more elements in the in-game environment will affect the gaming experience. And also, the grainy filter makes distant objects less visible, making it a sudden but spine-wrecking face-off for the players.
Fans Are Going Gaga Over the New Aspect in Silent Hill 2 Remake
The original Silent Hill 2 was regarded as arguably the best horror game of its generation. Now, the remake version of the game has huge honors on its shoulders to carry forward the legacy of its predecessor. It was thought to be a pretty tough job to match the expectations of the fans on how the remake would prosper in the shoes of the original game.
But after seeing the gameplay, the fans can’t wait anymore to jump into the horror world of the new title. However, they have to make sure that they have twice the time of the original one to play the new game.
It’s really, really beautiful.
This fan thinks the development team is absolutely killing it with the remake titles, although he has some own demands as well.
This fan has already decided how he is going to play the game.
The option to turn off the UI elements is going to be a bliss for old-school Silent Hill 2 fans.
No one can wait for October anymore.
UI sometimes can be a bit distracting. Especially in games like Silent Hill 2, the in-game environment is all that matters most. And with a clean in-game screen, the game is going to give a different kind of experience.
