Starfield: How to Join the Crimson Fleet

If you want to learn how to join the Crimson Fleet in Starfield, we’ve got you covered. There are various factions you can join in the game, and you can engage in crime and embrace the chaos as you please.

Joining the Crimson Fleet is a bit more challenging than joining other factions because there is no direct way to enlist. Thankfully, it’s not impossible, and you can become a member of this group by following a few indirect steps.

What is the Starfield Crimson Fleet?

The Crimson Fleet is an illegal organization, and the United Colonies wants to end it.

Crimson Fleet is an illegal organization made up of individual pirate captains united under the same flag in Starfield. Although this gang was considered a local crime problem for the Freestar Collective for many years, its activities could not be prevented, and it continued to grow rapidly.

By 2330, the Crimson Fleet had expanded far beyond the Kryx system, establishing new footholds in Sagan, Cheyenne, Lunara, and Narion. Its headquarters is known as The Key.

As the Crimson Fleet’s growth and its crimes increased, the United Colonies began to recognize it as a growing criminal organization and decided to end it.

Anyone displaying that symbol is assumed to be associated with the Crimson Fleet, and can be terminated at will.

Although it is difficult to join this group, leaving is even more challenging actually. The only normal way out for pirates is death. Alternatively, if you have amassed a substantial fortune through your activities within the organization, you may be able to obtain an exit ticket through retirement.

How to Join the Crimson Fleet?

How to Join the Crimson Fleet: Commander Ikande is offering a deal in Starfield.
If you choose the illegal way, Commander Ikande will offer you a deal to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet.

Now that you understand how dangerous the Crimson Fleet is, let’s discuss what we can do for you if you’re still interested in joining. This will come especially in handy if you’re looking to make credits.

The first step requires you to engage in some illegal activities. To do this, commit a crime in a city controlled by the United Colonies, who are determined to eliminate the Crimson Fleet, and get yourself arrested by the guards.

Here, Commander Ikande will present you with a deal: you can either spend many years in prison or infiltrate the Crimson Fleet and take them down from the inside.

Once you agree to act as a mole and snitch instead of serving a long prison time, you’ll receive the Deep Cover and Rook Meets King quests.

While these two missions aren’t available at the beginning of the game, you can trigger them later based on your actions.

Completing these missions indicates that you have successfully infiltrated the Crimson Fleet. As you progress, you’ll gain access to various crimes and activities.

If you prefer a legal route to join this group, you’ll need to become a member of the UC Vanguard. Once you join, you can infiltrate the Crimson Fleet by taking on the Deep Cover mission offered to you, just like in the illegal route.
