PHILLIP Schofield broke down in tears during his TV comeback tonight.
The disgraced TV star – who is appearing on Cast Away to tell his side of the story – reflected on the past 16 months.
After settling in to his new surroundings on a remote island, Phil opened up on how life-changing his departure from TV led to appearing on Cast Away.
Holding a camera, the 62-year-old said: “I never in my wildest, wildest dreams thought that I would sit here and look at this and do this.
“You discover something new everyday.”
Visibly upset, Schofe continued: “It’s nice to discover new things about yourself, like for you, for you personally.
“And you don’t look online and people tell you what they think you’re like.
“So it’s nice to discover things about you that you didn’t know.”
Wiping away his tears, Phil said: “Sorry, that came out of nowhere. Phew.”
Picking himself up in search of food, he added: “Right, come on, there’s too much to do.”
