Being one of the OG members of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which began in 2010, Lisa Vanderpump has had many notable moments throughout her run, including the iconic feud with Kyle Richards. But in 2019, the actress eventually left the reality show duo due to personal and professional issues, stressing the show had a negative impact on her.
However, one report did elaborate on her apparent reasoning behind the exit, claiming the show cut out her philanthropy work from season 9, which reportedly didn’t sit very with the actress.
Lisa Vanderpump Was Reportedly Upset Over the Trimming of Her Philanthropic Work
Compared to past seasons, Lisa Vanderpump had a notable lack of screen time in season 9, and according to reports, the showrunners left out most of her work due to the absence of drama.
With drama being one of the key ingredients behind most reality shows, the actress reportedly felt that the scenes involving her philanthropy work were left out because they didn’t add to the conflict.
Lisa is extremely hurt that several scenes that she filmed for RHOBH have been cut because it’s all about her philanthropy work which she loves to proudly show off. She feels that since there’s no drama, they got cut, but she wants to show off that side of her life and is really disappointed that those scenes got cut because that’s a big part of her life as a real housewife.
Considering she also lost her brother in the same year, it’s not hard to see why Vanderpump distanced herself from the reality show, but her potential return is not off the cards.
Lisa Vanderpump Might Return to RBOH If…
While the Vanderpump Villa star was busy penning her book, she didn’t completely write off the idea of a potential return. However, the actress added that she’d only entertain the idea if the other five women, excluding Kathy Hilton, would be expelled from the reality show.
It’s been such a long time and I’ve just got a lot going on, you know. I’ve been writing a book and everything… But I do love Kathy [Hilton]…If you could just get rid of the other five, then I think yeah, there’s a possibility.
Although she didn’t specify whom she was referring to, it’s safe to say Kyle Richards did make her list. Since partaking in a heated discussion in the show, which led to Vanderpump’s husband kicking Richards out of their home, the two haven’t exactly been on good terms. Moreover, Vanderpump later doubled down on it, stressing that she loved tossing Richards out of her home, and even refused to say anything nice about the latter during BravoCon 2023.
Given the hostility between them, which has continued past their stay on the reality show, a reunion between Richards and Vanderpump in RHOBH seems unlikely.
