Gray’s new contract includes $10.1million in guaranteed money.

While, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, he will also receive a $6million signing bonus.

Since being drafted in the fifth round by the Chiefs, Gray has appeared in 50 games.

These have included 19 starts, with 10 coming last season.

He is a two-time Super Bowl champion, with the Chiefs aiming for an unprecedented three-peat this year.

Upon news of Gray’s extension breaking, fans were quick to have their say.

“Chiefs really got an endless bag man,” one wrote on X.

“It’s amazing what happens when you don’t commit $30+ million to a WR and CB,” a second replied.

“Chiefs gave him way too much,” a third claimed.

“Earned every penny,” a fourth countered.

“We know who the heir to Kelce is,” another added.

Last month, the Chiefs handed Creed Humphrey a four-year, $72million contract extension.

The deal saw Humphrey, 26, become the highest-paid center in NFL history.

Since being drafted 61st overall in 2021, Humphrey has established himself as a key part of Patrick Mahomes‘ offensive unit.

Diamonds are forever

Kansas City’s newest Super Bowl rings feature 529 diamonds, 38 rubies and a nod to their game-winning play.

The Chiefs flashed their latest piece of jewelry at a special ceremony on Thursday, June 13.

The new bling features the years of Kansas City’s Super Bowl wins – 1969, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

It also has a handwritten drawing of Andy Reid’s ‘Tom and Jerry’ play which won Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kansas City beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in February.

And the rings feature 22 diamonds to represent the points Kansas City scored in the second half and overtime.

Nineteen diamonds also represent their 11 straight winning seasons and eight AFC West titles in a row.

While there is also commemorative patch for the late Norma Hunt, the matriarch of the family which owns the Chiefs who died last summer.

Kelce himself signed a new deal in April, making him the best-paid tight end in the NFL.

The two-year extension was claimed to be worth $34.25m.

This deal is set to keep Kelce, 34, with the Chiefs until he is 38.

The reigning champion Chiefs got off to a winning start in the NFL’s season curtain raiser last night.

Andy Reid’s men defeated the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 at Arrowhead Stadium.

The game reached a dramatic conclusion, with the Ravens having a last-gasp touchdown overturned.
