‘I’m going after that jackpot,’ 92-year-old lottery player told clerk before scooping $434,105 using fail-safe strategy

A LUCKY lotto player has won almost half a million dollars after he became determined to win — and to stick to one simple strategy.

The 92-year-old decided to play the lottery late last month after seeing that the jackpot of a popular Fast Cash drawing game — which has a progressively higher top prize until someone wins instantly — was on the rise.

The man played a Fast Cash game, and when he saw the jackpot was up, he started buying tickets from different stores[/caption]

The man, who asked to remain anonymous, headed to a nearby gas station in Lansing, Michigan — about 100 miles west of Detroit — and picked up two Lucky 7s Fast Cash tickets.

“I had my eye on the Fast Cash game after seeing the jackpot was on the rise,” the man told the Michigan Lottery.

“I stopped into a store and said, ‘I’m going after that jackpot!’”

But he was not a winner the first time around.

Instead, he needed to get creative to take home the $434,105 jackpot.

Nonplussed, the nonagenarian headed to another shop to try out his new lotto strategy to win.

“I bought two tickets and didn’t win, so I stopped into a different store later that day and purchased two more tickets,” he explained.

This time, he went to the Sunoco gas station at 645 Migaldi Lane in Lansing — and hit it big.

“I won $50 on one, and on the other, I matched number ‘59’ with ‘Jackpot’ underneath,” he recalled.

It was hard for the jackpot winner to believe the plan had actually paid off so quickly.

“I knew what I was seeing, but I scanned the ticket to be sure,” he recounted.

“When a message came up to file a claim at the Lottery office, I knew that I’d really won the jackpot!”

The winner visited Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim his prize shortly after picking up the winning ticket on June 25.

He told officials he plans on sharing the money with his family.

They have a progressively larger jackpot based on the number of tickets purchased, like traditional lotto games, but can be won instantly, like traditional scratch-off games.

Each Fast Cash game has its own rules that determine how the jackpot is calculated.

The Lansing winner hit it big with the Lucky 7s drawing, for example.

This fast cash game costs $10 each and gives each player a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 to $5,000 along with 100% of the progressive jackpot.

Players of the $5 Money Match game, however, can score prizes ranging from $5 up to $4,000 and up to 50% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot.
