The pair, who were from Hinesville, Georgia, were last seen on June 25 leaving the gym.

According to Kuhbander’s mother, Jane, the two had dated for seven years but broke up in 2023.

The firefighters at one point lived and worked together at Liberty County Fire Services.

However, after the couple split, Jane revealed her son returned home, but would regularly see Anderson at work.

SHOCKING FOOTAGE

The day her son went missing, Jane quickly realized something was wrong after he didn’t return that night for his sister’s birthday party and missed work the following morning.

Jane was able to watch security footage of the last time her son was seen alive.

The video initially showed Anderson’s car circling the Crunch Gym when Kuhbander was inside.

“At 11:40 my son walks out of the building and he looks very comfortable like he just had his workout,” Jane told local ABC affiliate WJCL.

“He doesn’t look rushed as he walks through the parking lot. After that, we don’t see him again.”

Afterward, all Jane saw in the video was Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus driving off the parking lot.

Jane admitted she was scared of what could have happened after her son left the parking lot.

“She’s a danger to herself,” Jane said of Anderson on her Facebook page.

“Raegan is a great person. She’s a great firefighter. We just want her to get home and get help,” the mother said before the police’s discovery.

The scared mother claimed that if Kuhbander left with Anderson it wasn’t under his free will.

QUICK DETAILS ABOUT THE CASE

The bodies of Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander were found on June 30, along with Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus, according to the Hinesville Police Department.

Before they were found, authorities believed they were traveling together in Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus, which has Georgia plates GEX655.

The pair were last seen Tuesday morning in Midway, Georgia, and family members last spoke to Kuhbander at 11:20 am that day.

His vehicle was found in Savannah, but neither firefighter has been located.

Their cell phones were turned off by 7:30 pm.

“He wouldn’t have wanted to leave,” Jane said, per Court TV.

“We believe that when she pulled up, it was a matter of duress, and he went with her to keep her from harming herself. She is not in her right mind.”

Jane claimed that Kuhbander had called her around 10 am that morning, after having a disturbing conversation with his ex-girlfriend, Anderson.

“He was telling me she was blowing up his phone, and he said that she had threatened that she was going to commit suicide,” she said.

“And, it’s not the first time that she’s done it.”

Video uncovered by police reveals that Anderson was last spotted purchasing gas outside of South Carolina

“My understanding is his phone pinged at the same gas station where she lost her debit card and can be seen pumping gas,” Hinesville Police Chief Tracey Howard said, per Firehouse.com.

“From what I’m able to see, I could not tell he was in the vehicle.”

‘I’M TERRIFIED’

Jane has said in a recent interview that she believes her son’s ex-girlfriend was in a “bad headspace,” before her disappearance.

“I’m terrified,” the mother told Court TV.

“I’m trying not to catastrophize the situation but it’s hard when so many things are going wrong.”

Anderson was previously arrested on June 22 for reportedly breaking a window and keying Kuhbander’s car.

Anderson confronted her ex-boyfriend at an Olive Garden in Pooler, Georgia, while he was on a date with somebody else, according to a police report.

Kuhbander’s date left during the altercation, and the two continued arguing in the restaurant’s parking lot, per the report.

“Anderson stated she did not know why she damaged Kuhbander’s car except that she was very hurt by him moving on,” the police report said, per Court TV.

“She stated they had been together a long time and she was hurt.”

Jane told WJCL that Anderson posted bond to two charges, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

TRAGIC DEATH

The bodies of the two firefighters were found Sunday evening along with Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus, according to the Hinesville Police Department.

“We regret to inform the public that the bodies of missing persons, Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander, along with Anderson’s vehicle, have been discovered in Cocke County, TN.” a Facebook update from the department read.

“Tennessee authorities are currently investigating the scene.

“Details pertaining to the discovery of their bodies, vehicle, and events leading to their deaths are not available at this time.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the Anderson and Kuhbander families during this incredibly difficult time,” a spokesperson for the department said.

An investigation into what occurred is ongoing with no further details released from the police department.
