A listeria outbreak affecting about 10million pounds of meat has caused wholesale retailer Costco to recall another product from its shelves.
Costco is recalling salmon over concerns of possible listeria contamination.
Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon sold from October 9 to 13 is under the recall that was announced in a notice to Costco members on Tuesday.
‘With an abundance of caution, Acme Smoked Fish Corp. has initiated a voluntary recall on certain packages of Kirkland Signature Smokes Salmon due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes,’ stated the notice signed by the corporation’s CEO Eduardo Carbajosa.
‘We regret this unfortunate incident and have taken immediate corrective steps to ensure that this issue never happens again.’
