Tite Kubo’s Bleach made one of the glorious comebacks of the century, as many fans consider Thousand-Year Blood War to be the greatest series that gave an all-new perspective to the fans. The show features a gripping storyline with an elevated animation that made all the well-choreographed fights look more appealing.
Hence, the fans have forgotten how the classic series had a subpar ending. Kubo-Sensei’s work is more popular than ever. Additionally, fans feel that Studio Pierrot has been doing a great job with the anime adaptation, as they are following the source material with utmost precision, even making changes when the adaptation’s storyline asks for it.
While everyone has been on the same ship, where they keep praising the series for being flawless, a fan said otherwise. They took to Reddit, where they criticized the series, stating the 4 major flaws that immensely affect the series’ storyline.
Bleach Fan Points Out Major Flaws in Thousand-Year Blood War
There’s no denying that Tite Kubo’s Bleach: TYBW is one of the most popular series and has been taking the legacy of the title to a whole new level. Studio Pierrot has been cooking with the anime as it adapts the work much better than the manga. Hence, the expectations from the show just keep getting higher and higher.
Nevertheless, the show has faced mixed opinions from the fans as they nitpick the details. While the series is overall great, once watched from a critical perspective, four flaws would just keep getting repeated in the series. Naturally, a fan on Reddit posted how TYBW disrespects its main and side characters.
The fan started their “rant” on a good note where they talked about the positive and memorable aspects of the series. However, they soon started pointing out the shortcomings, where they stated that Kubo-Sensei seems to have forgotten that Ichigo Kurosaki is the protagonist of the anime and not Kenpachi.
Though the character’s arc was great and everything, ignoring the protagonist is something that they can’t accept with a smile on their face. This brings them to their second point, where Yhwach is “too f**king broken” and has the most mediocre abilities as the main villain of a Shonen series.
The antagonist would tap any character and the fight would come to an end, while a strong villain is loved by the fans, but maintaining a power balance is essential, especially when a name like Tite Kubo is behind the work. The broken abilities lead to the third problem, where they express their detest to “Quincy’s as a whole.”
They feel that their “special techniques,” which Uryu uses throughout the series, but aside from Ebern, there’s no other Quincy who feels like one. While their own unique abilities can work “it completely overshadows other Quincy abilities.”
A similar problem can be seen with the Soul Reapers, where all the captains would be spamming Bankai, but they use other abilities, which makes it somewhat bearable to watch.
Lastly, the biggest problem of all is how the show would showcase major events off-screen. They gave several instances from the Quincy Arc and what the mangaka did with Uryu. They were frustrated because they didn’t know what Yhwach’s “F**KING VOLTSTANDING IS.” This makes them believe that Bleach’s major flaw is how the arcs ignore the characters who are meant to play an important role.
Bleach Fans Agree With the 4 Major Flaws Of the Fan Critic
As the fan critic points out the major flaws following the series, they share a sense of unison, where they felt that Kubo-Sensei might be creating too many complex situations in the series, and in an attempt to hopelessly fix them, he makes the series much more complicated.
The fans were dissatisfied with several instances in the show, as the comment section was full of criticism and how the title features some highs but few lows, which affect the series heavily. They commented,
