A Hulk vs Spider-Man Movie or a Completely New Role – Tom Holland’s Latest Appearance at Universal Studio Can Be Huge After Amy Pascal Left Sony

Tom Holland was recently spotted on the premises of Universal Studio, which kick-started a rumor mill of a potential project with the studio. Many fans began speculating on the projects that he could collaborate with Universal, with the most popular being a Hulk vs Spider-Man movie. Universal still has distribution rights over any solo Hulk movies.

Holland’s appearance also gains significance because of Spider-Man: Homecoming producer Amy Pascal, who has since moved her dealings from Sony to Universal. It is speculated that Holland is at the studio at the request of Pascal, possibly for a completely new film under Pascal Pictures.

During a Universal Studio Tour, visitors spotted Tom Holland on the premises of the studio. The video was shared by @HighUniversal and has gone viral, with fans speculating a collaboration between the actor and the studio. Scooper Daniel Richtman and other movie enthusiasts have also expressed their doubts about a potential film.

When the news was shared on X, one of the popular fan speculation was about a Hulk vs Spider-Man movie. Disney and Universal have yet to come to an agreement on the Hulk character. Marvel made the first solo film of the character, The Incredible Hulk, in collaboration with Universal, who struck a deal for distribution rights.

When Disney took over Marvel, Universal did not pass over the distribution rights to their competitors, i.e., Disney. Marvel worked around this issue by making the Hulk a supporting character in films. While a Hulk vs Spider-Man film is a distant possibility, fans also shared that Holland could be there to voice Yoshi, the sidekick of Mario and Luigi, in a Super Mario Bros. movie.

Fans also suggested that Holland could be working with Amy Pascal‘s Pascal Pictures on a new film. They believe that Holland’s previous collaboration with Pascal at Sony may have paved the way for this new film. Some of the reactions read:

Interestingly, Holland shared a pic of him in makeup with the caption, “Secret shoot day,” on his Instagram. Fans largely speculated that it could be Spider-Man 4, but his appearance at Universal has completely thrown off these fans. Fans have also joked about Holland keeping a secret after his infamous stint of revealing spoilers.

During an interview with Deadline at the Sands Film Festival in April, Tom Holland confirmed his involvement in the fourth film. He even shared that he will always be up for more Spider-Man films. He shared that the best in the industry is working to develop a story for the film that protects the legacy of the third film. Holland shared with Deadline:

We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.

The Uncharted actor added that it was his first time being involved in the MCU film this early in the creative process. Holland shared that it was a fun stage for him and revealed that he was “watching and learning” the process. However, he revealed that they also wanted to make sure that they were not “overdoing the same things.”

A fourth film could potentially delve into Peter Parker’s problems. He has a lot on his plate now — the loss of Aunt May, everyone forgetting who he is, college, and other life problems — alongside crime fighting. Holland’s update has given fans hope about seeing a grounded superhero film rather than a star-studded multiverse film.

Tom Holland’s first two Spider-Man films are now available for streaming on Disney+. Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available on FX Now.
