Gladiators icon Mark Smith, aka Rhino, has barely aged a day a quarter of a century after he appeared in the original BBC series.

The 90s TV star, now 54, starred in the popular competition from 1995 until it was cancelled in 1999.

While Mark pursued acting after his stint on Gladiators, he is still dedicated to working out and regularly shares clips of his exercise routines on Instagram.

His 410K followers often remark how Mark looks exactly the same and has maintained the same physique since being Rhino.

On a video of a gruelling boxing workout, @_claudio.kb_ifbbpro remarked: ‘The legend doesn’t stop💪🏿💪🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿.’

Blown away by Mark’s fitness levels, @kirsty.sr commented: ‘Jeez ninja turtle abs – Have a great week 💪👏🫶🏼.’

@muscle_limit_gym also added: ‘Wow,looking fantastic bud 💪🏾.’

After Gladiators ended, Mark left the UK to purse a career in acting and producing in LA.

His credits include US teen sitcom Renford Rejects, sci-fi film Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and Pirate of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Mark also starred as Johnson in the hit BBC soap EastEnders in 2005.

The TV legend most recently had a role in Guy Ritchie’s hit Netflix drama, The Gentlemen, alongside Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Ray Winstone.

However, Mark previously said he was still most recognised for being Rhino on Gladiators.

In a 2019 interview with The Guardian, he recalled being approached by a fan while on safari in Zimbabwe.

He said: ‘We were in the Land Rover and someone leaned over and said: “Eh, Rhino, do you think we might see a rhino?”‘

Gladiators was rebooted by the BBC this year after more than a decade off our screens. The show was originally broadcast from 1992 to 2000 on ITV before being resurrected by Sky between 2008 and 2009.

The revival was a ratings winners for the broadcaster with over four million people tuning into the final over the Easter weekend. It will be returning for a second season.

Gladiators is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
